Dark margins all around the laptop screen
HI,
I am pretty confused about the black margins of about 1 inch all around the corners of my hp laptop screen whether it is hardware default or graphics issue.The margin is clearly visible extreme dark even when the laptop is turned off or even during the startup as well. I tried to fix the graphics through different options like updating the graphics driver, scaling to the full screen (No option in the driver), reinstalling the windows and lot more but nothing helped.
My OS is windows8 64 bit with intel graphics hardware.More information will be provided if required.Plz help me coz i am really faded up.Thank You

Video and Audio choppy sometimes
Hi All,
I have been facing this problem for the past few years. It first occurred six months into the purchase of my laptop.
I initially thought it was due to the windows 8.1 upgrade. but based on advice by the HP support folks, i reverted back to windows 8 reinstalled all drivers. However the issue still persists.
Basically the video and sound becomes choppy unpredictably. Then we either wait for sometime, pause the video for a bit and it becomes ok. Sometimes this doesnt work and we have to restart the laptop.
HP support made me install all latest drivers from the support site, whether it was related to graphics or not. But this has not solved the problem. Please help.

I have bought a HP 15 notebook/laptop and want to download and format footage from my handycam. Apparently this will require the use of firewire....i think.....how can I connect firewire to my HP 15??

White Dotted line across the screen
Hello,
I have this white dotted line on my laptop screen, it's a vertical thin line that appeared suddenly.
I connected the laptop to an external monitor and the line disappeared.
I think the display cable might be loose.
how can I fix it?

hp pavilion g6 2225tu flickering
i have a hp pavilion g6 2225-tu Notebook and its screen is flickering every time i open my laptop but goes away after some time and again start flickering randomly. it only happend when my display drivers are enabled if i disable the drivers everythings smooth .
problem is not harware related as i have used my laptop for like and hour in safe mode and left it in bios there was no flickering.
for solution i tried almost all driver versions tried bios F.22,F.25,F.26 and anything else i can know.And i have intel hd 4000 graphics.win 7 home edition

При загрузке системы ноутбук стал выдавать "синий экран". Запускается только в безопасном режиме. Переустановил систему все работает, но без драйверов на видеокарту. Как только устанавливаешь драйвера на видеокарту просит перезагрузиться, после перезагрузки вместо хода в сисетму снова "синий экран"

No touch
My hard drive went so I replaced the hard drive.
There was no Windows key given with the pc, so I had to buy that too.
Now I am unable to use the touch feature of my computer.
I see an AUO Touchscreen Firmware Update, but this does not help.
When I run the application, it seemingly quits without completing the process.
To my reasoning...... There is no previous software to update (I dont know if I got that wrong).
Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

webcam
My integrated webcam has stopped working all of a sudden. I have a HP ENVY dv6-7215nr
notebook pc
. When I attempted to open my webcam, it stated that " Webcam not detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated webcam, make sure that it is turned on" However, i do not know how to turn it on.
I have tried out all the suggestions in the help forum ,including updating drivers , but my problem remains unresolved.The configur tab on the youcab appears disabled and cannot be selected.

Hp G71-449WM No display
Hi,
I had a laptop (HP G71-449WM) brought to me in need of keyboard replacement. I booted it up to see if it just needed the missing keys replaced or if the entire keyboard was broken. When I booted it up, the backlights came on but there was no display. The wireless button is orange for a while but after about 30 seconds if I press it, it turns on. I went and reseated, tested and swapped the RAM, no luck. Took the HDD out and tried it in another PC and it worked fine. Reseated the WLAN card, no luck. Hooked it up to an external display with no luck (not sure if its because I couldn't switch it due to no keyboard or if its something else.)
So I'm at a loss. I removed the keyboard and used an external with no luck, both on the computer's display and on an external display. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a video. The beeps occur when pressing f11 and continued for a little while after I stopped pressing it.

Green Screen when trying to watch videos
I have had problems with playing videos since I got this computer.
I can hear the video and can see the picture until I hit play and I get a green screen. This happens on all video (i.e. You Tube, news video, et.)
I am not technically familar with computers, but if given direction, I can usually take care of issues.

Graphic drivers for hp pavilion dv6-6b83eo, In need of help please!!
Hello, i have a very annoying problem with my hp pavilion dv6-6b83eo. I got this computer from a friend, he bought a new one because he said this didn't work. When i got it it worked for like four startups. After that this pc got stuck in the windows-loadingscreen. Atfirst i tought it was the hard drive that was broke, i took another hard drive from my other PC to this one, and it worked for a few startups, i re-installed the pc with a windows 7 ultimate CD. I've figured out that it's the graphic drivers that dosn't work i've downloaded all the network drivers, but when i install the graphic driver AMD High Definition, 2011-11-18, Version 8.882.2.3000, the PC start's to freeze in windows loadingscreen. I need to go in Safemode and delete the driver to make the PC work again. I found here on the forums, someone had the same problem and he got two links in respond. I tried to download both, it worked all good with startup, it didn't got stuck in the windows loading screen. But the max resolution of the screen was 1280x1024. The normal resolution is 1920x1080. I also couldn't open the game "cs:go" it was running in the background, but didn't show up on the screen. I don't know why this is happening and i need my pc, can someone please help me, what can i do to fix this annoying problem?

about 2 scream!!! NOT SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS PROBLEM!!! Vid card seems 2 FAIL PERIOD!!!
I have the dv7-6135dx with the intel/radeon 6490 blah blah blah. You guys know the machine. Every time i try to find information regarding the bleeding ati card, all i can find is switchable graphics this switchable that, bios update for switcha....
When i disabled the dynamic in bios long ago, i lost ability to control screen brightness. Was very dim. Haven't tried it again.
When i plug in a monitor to HDMI port=nothing. Vga port works fine but i can not watch any video greater than 1.2 Gb without super skipping and digital breakup of the video (the million tiny boxes thing).
From ati site, auto thingy detected my card, gave me best driver, installed and when i open catalyst, it always says can not start because no ati device.
Before? I could watch 18gb hd vids with stunning performance. Now? Its dvd rips or choke and die.
Can SOMEBODY.... ANYBODY tell me what if any troubleshooting there is to see if the card is shot, or if there is a fix please? One that does NOT involve some gahrbajje about bleeding switchable bloody graphics?

HDMI monitor connection
Hi,
I have a new ENVY 15 Product number: J4Y24AV.
I am attempting to connect an ASUS 24" monitor via the HDMI port on both ends.
HDMI out on laptop HDMI 1 input on Monitor.
The monitor is reporting no signal.
The monitor used to work with my old Pavilion DV17.
The new laptop is using an Nvidia Gforce GTX850M video card.

vertical lines on the lower part of the screen

Lines have appeared in the lower part of the screen and I do not know how to fix this. This is the third time it happened. The first and second time it happened, the lines were suddenly gone several weeks after. I want to know what is the main cause of this problem and how would it be fixed. Thanks!

All of my videos are coming up green
I was watchign netflix and paused it and when I tried to play the video again the display was green. I tried playing another video on netflix and the display was also green. Finally I tried tp play a video in you tube and that video's display was also green. The green display is only on the video, not my entire screen. So, I just want to know if this is an issue with my settings or if this is a more serious issue.
