I did some updates on my computer and now I have a grey line across my screen. I am not sure how to get rid of it. After I updated the graphics, it appeared that my screen was in two sections: The top was off-color and the graphics reolution were not the best but the bottom half was fine. I went into the history and restored to a prior date. However, the same issue was there. I reset the graphics to default colors, but a line remained. How do I get rid of the line? The computer is 5 months old.

hp pavilion g7 desktop glitches
Hi, my HP Pavilion G7 when it boots up into desktop, it flashes between a black screen with a purple line on bottom and the desktop screen continuously. I do not have an issue if I don't open the desktop upon start up and use programs through windows 8 start screen. Once I'm in this glitch I cant do anything but task manager where my numbers are on and off the charts.
Any thoughts?

bluestacks displays an error with Graphics card while installing
My laptop is a DV6 6121tx with product number QB367PA#ACJ.
While installing bluestacks, it displayed an error stating not able to recognise the graphics card in the system.

How to make Radeon HD 6770m and Windows 8.1 marry each other
For all who wish to use Win 8.1 and AMD Radeon HD 6770m, try the following drivers, because they worked for me:

For 64 bit: http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe

Neglect the fact the drivers are for 6700m when you actually have 6770m. They still work fine. At least for me. Hope it helps you too. Try reading the whole source forum discussion. Some other of the suggested solutions might work for you, such as the 12-3 drivers noted as solution to the initial post.
The main issue I was having with Win8.1 and 6770m was that I was never able to control the brightness. I read many other posts which offer tweaking the registry files by means of *.reg files, and actually tried the suggested *.reg files, but to no avail. That's when the above-mentioned drivers came in handy. Hope they help you, too!
The drivers provided from my HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo for Win8.1 x64 for the AMD 6770m GPU are sp59850 and do NOT work. Once I install them I am unable to control the brightness.

Out of date driver
I have a HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC Productnumberr: LS565EA#ABH
And sins a year or so i cant update my driver for my videocard.
Even with the help of AMD and there autodetect software, i cant find a new version of my drivers for my Grafische chipset Radeon (TM) HD 6850M
Or it to old or the driver change by HP and there will not be a new update.

When I first bought my computer with windows 8 when I started among the updates and features I recieved was an icon that appeared that would allow me to switch the screen resolution and audio settings when watching a movie . Once I went to windows 8.1 that was gone.Is that something that needs to be downloaded?

Envy dv6 7227sa VGA output not working
The company I work for has 30 units which are all behaving well except for one which does not output on the VGA to monitors or switchers or CAT5 transmitters. The only thing it will work on currently is a 22" monitor. I have updated everything including OS to windows 8.1
The cable I am using works perfectly when I move it to another PC, I have tried going through a VGA 1:4 Distribution Amp incase it needed a little help getting the signal to the monitor, this did not work
The Graphics card is able to pick up the EDID of the monitor, so the connection must be there,
Help please, not sure what else to try

HP Laptop G7
I purchased this laptop in January 2013 and I was on vacation last week and went to boot it up this morning and nothing. The lights for the power switch come on but nothing on the screen. I took it to my IT department and they attached an external montior and everything worked, so my screen is dead. I am extremely disappointed in your product. Something else that has happened to it is where the power button is, the laptop is separating and there is a half inch gap there. It has never been dropped, but it won't completely shut and it's a pain and I was worried that something would get in there. I bought an HP thinking it has quality but this was a disposable computer and now I have to pay someone to retrieve my files and repurchase Office again. I'm extremely upset about this.

HP Windows 8.1 Pavilion-DVD Player problems
My HP Pavilion 15-n230us Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) Product # F5W29UA, is having problems with the DVD player. I went to the Device Manager and found the following error code:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

I don't know if I made any changes that may have caused this error, I don't remember whether or not it was working previously. I believe it was.
