Hi there,
I've had a new HP Pavilion 15 268na laptop (64bit win 8.1.1, AMD Radeon HD 8610G + HD 8670M Dual Graphics) for just over a week now, and after noticing that there was a new display driver for it on the HP website (AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver 2014-06-13 , Version 13.251.3.0, 296.53M), I downloaded it, and went through the install process, and everything seemed to go fine, the executable file unpacked and it opened the AMD driver update utility, updated things like the HDMI driver and catalyst centre version, but the only thing it didn't update was the actual driver itself, claiming it was the most current version and the option to update that was greyed out. No errors were reporting during installation, and I've noticed no problems at all since then.
Today, the HP Support Assissant during it's usual scheduled update check reported that there was a new version of the Graphics Driver to download and install, so I went through the process through th Assistant and everything went fine again, it was the same driver update (13.251.3.0) I had tried to install myself a few days ago, and everything seemed to go fine in the install, no errors or warnings, but again, the AMD driver (13.152.1.3000 (25/09/2013) remains on the system. After rebooting as prompted, the yellow exclaimation mark appeared again over the support assistant icon prompting me of the same update to be installed and went through the update process again and after a third attempt to install 13.251, I'm still getting the same update prompt and my display driver remains at 13. 152.1.3000, 8 month old drivers.
Can anyone provide any advice on what to do to get the display driver to 'take'? I've never had this issue before when updating display drivers.
