The HDR settings are missing on my OS, yet my monitor supports 4K HDR

I've tried to figure out why my HDR settings on my laptop are missing for the last couple of days since i received my new LG 27UK650 monitor but im struggling to do so. My laptop is a HP Envy 15-as001na with an Intel Core i5-6260U processor, with Intel Iris Graphics 540 that supports 4K at 60Hz. The processor specifications can be found here:

The first thing i did was install the latest windows update available on my device, which happens to be version 1803 (not version 1809 that apparently has new settings for HDR). I couldn't manually install this update as it hasnt reached my device yet automatically, even though it was slowly rolled out from the 13th November 2018.

The next thing i did was check on intels website about what drivers i need to make sure my device can produce HDR graphics which i found here:

This outlines the specific specifications you need in order to run HDR (on page 13), however as i went through this table, i noticed that my laptop didnt have a few things on this list calibrated or installed yet. I will go through each part of the table and state my devices specs in comparison to give an idea below:

Intel Graphics Required: 7/8th Gen Processor with Intel Iris HD/UHD 620 graphics or better
My Intel Graphics: 6th Gen processor with Intel Iris Graphics 540

OS Required: Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (RS3 or later)
OS installed: Windows 10 Build 17134 version 1803 (installed 28/11/2018)

Intel ME FW required: Intel® Manageability Engine Firmware: 11.7.4.3314 or newer
Intel ME FW installed:  Intel® Manageability Engine Firmware: 11.8.55.3510

Intel SGX required: Intel® Security Guard Extensions: 1.8.100.38781 or newer
Intel SGX installed:  Intel® Security Guard Extensions: 2.1.100.46245

Intel MEI Driver required: 11.7.0.1032 or later
Intel MEI Driver installed: 11.8.55.3510

Intel Graphics Driver required: WDDM2.3 driver:  23.20.16.4849 (15.46.4849) or newer
Intel Graphics Driver installed: 23.20.16.4973

Display requirements: HDMI 2.0a or DP1.3 For HDMI 2.0a support, make sure LSPCon support is enabled
Actual Display support: HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 (both with HDR support) as well as HDCP 2.2 for streaming 4K content, LSPCon not confirmed on my device yet

In Summary, i'd like to know whether i should wait for Windows 10 version 1809, install the Windows 10 Fall creators update, check to see if my laptop was built with LSPCon, or just stick with 4K as my proccessor is too old for HDR supported proccessors. Hope someone can help clear this up for me, thank you.

Ive just bought the HP Active Tablet Pen but it doesn't work with my laptop. Can't get past the online tech support to speak to a human. Can I have an email address?

Can thesingle touchpad center point be adjusted? For larger left-click area.

Can the touchpad center point be adjusted? Making the left-click portion larger, and the right-click portion more on the right edge. The touchpad is one wide smooth pad - but it's positioned off-center, on the left. So my hand gets too close to the right side of the touchpad. The mouse jumps south when I tap.

HP Spectre 360 Screen Cracks at Hinge

Hello, I purchased an HP Spectre 360 a little over a year ago. Within 2 days I experienced what appeared to be a stress crack near the hinge. Luckily I purchased a Geek Squad protection warranty and was able to get the screen repaired. However, I noticed that there would be times that my notebook would experience flickers that would impact my mouse sensitivity and at times cause screen flickers. Usually closing my notebook and reopening it would temporally resolve the problem. However, I recently experienced another spontaneous screen crack that AGAIN appeared to originate at the hinge. The notebook was sitting on my desk charging overnight. When I opened the notebook to check my email I noticed the crack. AGAIN, I took my notebook BACK to Best Buy to have it repaired for a second time. I LITERALLY just received the notebook back YESTERDAY afternoon, TODAY I am experiencing the screen flickers and mouse interruption ALL over again. (Keep in mind I have a BRAND NEW screen) AGAIN it appears that the stress may be related to the hinge. I decided to research the issue because what are the odds that the same symptoms and ultimately need for repair would present multiple times? While researching it appears that this is a common issue with the HP Spectre 360. What is HP doing to address these issues to prevent them from recurring? I suspect that this may be a design flaw if so how is HP addressing this issue?  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  If so, how was it resolved once and for all?

Flashing Circles on my laptop screen HP Spectre 360

This problem seemed to come and go and now it happens everytime I use this laptop. There is a flashing circle that opens files and moves the mouse cursor to the spot on the screen where the flashing dot appears. This is happening on the left side of the screen, usually on the bottom 3rd of the screen or the top 3rd of the screen. I have had to create a space between my folders on the desktop to avoid the action from opening the folders. Also when online or when  trying to do other tasks the flashing circle where ever it decides to appear will open the link under the flashing circle on it's own.

I have already:

Re-written the bios via HP Support

Used the F Key Function to run screen tests and software tests

Continuously re-booted the laptop

I turned off the computer and turned it on again but it is still the same as before. I can barely see anything on the computer. I had to send this post form a different computer because I can hardly see anything on my own computer. Please help.

Hello everyone,

I have my HP Pavillion 15, the product name "HP 15-AK003NS". I am wondering how can i clean the keyboard.

Are the keys removable? or I should do it after removing the motherboard. My motherboard is fixed with the Keyboard, the back case if standalone. I hope you got my description. Here is a photo of how the keyboard looks.

Sry for bad quality.

Thanks in advance.

Spectre 13 2016 - Intel Video Drivers not being updated regularly

0
0

Dear all,

It has come to my attention that my current video drivers are dated from Sep, 2017,  version 22.20.

When I go to the intel website, the latest version available is version 25.20 from November 2018.

However, I am not able to update given that, according to Intel,  I have a custom HP driver and I need to relay on HP to provide updated drivers.

Therefore:

1- Can I use the "stock" drivers from Intel?

2- When can I expect a driver update from HP? That is assuming, that my expensive and premium device will still be elegible for updates and support.

Thank you,

High Brightness Problem: Moving colored lines

Hi everyone,

When I set the brightness of the screen at the maximum, there are some weird white/coloured lines that move when I move the mouse. Also, when I open a window, some lines appear around it. I don't know if the images below are good enough to see the problem, but when I lower the brightness, the problem seems to disappear.

For the moment, I updated the Display Driver and the Bios but it was not effective.

Videos are really zoomed in and low quality

Hi, I've been having some trouble with watching videos, where the image will be super zoomed in and out of focus. This happens for basically everything apart from Youtube, so on any other kind of streaming site or even watching downloaded videos I get the same problem. I haven't made any changes that I'm aware of or installed any updates, and unlike lots of similar posts I've seen this will happen regardless of whether or not my PC is plugged in so I don't think that's the problem. I also went through a troubleshooter and followed some other tutorials to fix it with no results. Thank you if you can help me out with this!

HP ACTIVE PEN G2 not working properly

I've recenly bought a ZBook Studio x360 G5 Convertible Workstation, it came with a pen called HP Active Pen G2.

My problem is that it doesn't work properly, when I am drawing with it sometimes detects my hand and it goes crazy... This shouldn't happen since I've actived the option "Ignore touch input when I am using my pen".

I thought maybe I could try to update the drivers but I couldn't find the pen in the website, like if it doesn't exist...

Thanks in advance for any help!
