Hello everyone.

 

I saw some other questions about this issue but nobody found a solution (as far as I know).

 

I have two of those AIO computers (same model). And one of them is showing this symptom since last year. The warranty is long gone, does anyone still has this problem and came across a solution to this problem? 

It seems to be a backlight problem. Is there any way to know what time of backlight is used? On the other hand, if it is a display problem, I really need to dismantle this one to know the exact model of the one used, right?

 

Any insights about this?

 My HP 15-af123cl touch screen laptop has the following display issue:

 

The screen appears to freeze up or become distorted or black/white until I squeeze the plastic-top. I have to hold my hand gripping the top of the laptop for the screen to work properly. I can grip anywhere along the top, from the center (by the webcam) to the left and right sides to make the screen work properly.

 

Because gripping the plastic fixes the issue, I am guessing I have a loose connection somewhere? Can you please advise what might have become loose and/or how to fix the issue?

 

Side notes:

 

1. Laptop continues to function even when screen is frozen and I am not gripping the top of the laptop: ie. sound still works, and I can plug it into an external monitor and use it normally.

 

2. The problem is intermittent. Some days the screen is fine and the laptop works like it's brand new. Other days I have to grip the plastic-top of the laptop the whole time anytime I want to use it. Restarting doesn't help, and the video glitches occur even during boot-up on the Windows loading screen.

All is going well, but I am not sure whether there is a built in webcam or not. Sorry if this a dumb question, but I have struggled to find the answer elsewhere.

I'm stuck with this laptop while I wait for my main system's problems are sorted. Seeing the specs for this thing, it should at least be able to play lighter e-sport games like CSGO. Simply put, it doesn't.


It seems that no matter what I tried within the game, the performance would just tank. At a resolution of 640X480 and graphics settings set to its lowest, the game runs at a measly 15fps.


I tried various monitoring apps to find two things: the graphics is only given 384MB of dedicated video memory to work with, and the integrated graphics frequency tops out at 300ish MHz instead of AMD's specified 720MHz. The latter will be discussed in a seperate thread.


Is there any way to increase the amount of dedicated vid memory in this laptop? The BIOS doesn't have the option to increase this (or even allow to change anything aside from boot order). Does adding more RAM to the system automatically add the amount of assigned video memory?


Answers, especially those that resolve the issue, are highly apreciated.

Confirmed by Radeon Settings to only have 384MBSorry mate. This was intended for a different threadYup, can't change anything

i tried adjusting my brightness with the f2 and the f3 keys but it wont work. i also tried doing it in the settings but it also didnt work. how can i fix this problem? the light is too bright and triggers migraines.

Is anyone using the Asus MX27UC 4k display with the current Spectre x360 13 (this is the 4-core, i7-8550u version). Specifically, does charging and displaying via the single USB-C cable work correctly? 

Also for anyone using a 4k external display, how well does it handle extended display mode (that is driving 4k separately internally and also on the external display)?

So I recently got a Spectre X360 15, and while the computer and stylus seem to be perfectly intact, I cant get any pressure sensitivity when attempting to draw with the provided stylus. The stylus appears to be an hp stylus pen, which should have pressure sensitivity. I was wondering if there was maybe some settings I missed, or something wrong with the pen itself. The program I'm attempting to draw in is paint tool sai, but i didnt have any pressure sensitivity in the windows ink workplace either.

Is the active stylus compatible with the pavilion x360?

I've checked the list of compatible stylus and my computer isn't listed. However, in the settings there is a tab for a pen and windows ink. So I was wondering if the active stylus is actually compatible?

 

My computer is the pavilion x360 13-u163nr.

The product # is 3EC81AV_1 with Ryzen 5 2500U.  The spec says it has HDMI 2.0 so I assume it can.  Can anyone verify this?

It is a persistent problem whenever I charge and at the same time use my laptop. My co-workers' laptops do not experience this kind of problem, though we have the same units. Why is that so? I hope someone can notice my post! Please help me out! Thank you very much in advance.

My stylus works about 10% of the times I attempt to use it lately. I have switched out the battery three different times in the past week and it still will not work with a new battery. I have had the stylus for less than a year, but I use my laptop and stylus to take notes for school, so I do use it quite often.

Whenever I load up a game, the entire screen looks much bluer than it should (i.e. faces look blue). I can temporarily fix this by spaming alt + tab, or the windows key. Whenever any overlay comes over the game, the issue temporarily goes away, but once I go back to the game, it turns blue again. Sometimes when spaming alt + tab or the windows key, the other screen inherits the wrong color issue, looking more red than it should, leading me to believe that the colors are being somehow inverted when the game is running. My laptop is the HP Envy with the AMD Ryzen 7 and Vega 10 graphics.

My old hard drive died so I put in a new one with a new copy of windows 10, but the brightness buttons now don't work and the brightness setting does not exist.

 

The model is 15-ay196nr

I bought my laptop about a week or two ago, and it came when a pen. I’m pretty sure it’s the HP digital pen. Anyways, a few days after I got the laptop the pen just decided to stop working. I changed the batteries and it still doesn’t work. I have warranty on the laptop, I’m not sure if it covers the pen. I leave for college in a week, so if somebody could help me figure this out, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!

My screen cracked during regualr use by just closing my laptop lid. The crack messed up the touch sensor so I disabled the touch sensor from Windows Device Manager.

My warranty has already expired and I was wondering if this issue is fixable, how much will it cost and can I just order the replacement part myself.

I have Recovary my system windows 10

Now my gpu is not detecting 

I have tried to install the driver that hp provides in their website 

And the one from  Nvidia site

Both says ' no compatable graphics hardware found' 

My gpu is not even showing in the device manager 

I hav reinstalled my system many times 

Still no change 

Pls help asap

Hi,

 

I'm close to buying the HP Spectre x360 – 13-ae004no but there is one question I'd like answered before the purchase, which I've not been able to find anywhere.

My plan is connect my laptop to my LG OLED55B7V and my issue is getting 60 hz at 4k by connecting the laptop with the TV. As I've understood the Thunderbolt 3 with USB-C port should work with an adapter but the port must have DisplayPort over USB-C with Alternative Mode.


So the question is if the HP Spectre x360 – 13-ae004no has DisplayPort over USB-C With Alternative Mode?
