Just last week my problem started, the extended display monitor stays in sleep mode all the time...

 

When I hook up an external monitor to my laptop, the monitor screen changes from 'CHECK VIDEO CABLE' to an all black screen for just a month, then says, 'GOING TO SLEEP' and goes black.  As I attach the cable to the laptop, the laptop's screen blinks once and then comes back on (as it had in the past).  I've tried different monitors, different cables, Ive played with the WINDOWS-P and the fn-F4 keys, Screen Resolution settings, I've updated the AMD Radeon driver to 18.2.1, etc.

 

The wierd part, Windows know's what monitor I plug in when looking at the Screen Resolution window.  When looking and digging in the laptop's settings you wouldn't know that the extended monitor isn't working...AND, when I plug the monitor in it knows that it's been plugged in but immediatly goes to sleep.

Touchpad quit working. Checked the forums. tried reloading the drivers. NO HELP. I can plug in a usb mouse and it makes a sound that it connected. Keyboard it to Device Manager, shows Microsoft USB Optical Mouse with yellow triangle, Under device status - the device is not configured correctly. code 1

 

The installation faild because a function driver was not specified for this device instance.

 

To find a driver for this divice, click Update Driver

 

select update driver, search automatically, finds Microsoft Hardware usb mouse, error durring install, says missing a necessary entry. contact hardware vendor.

 

Im at a loss.

hi! my laptop has a screen problem as well as a battery problem. When i move the screen, it show  only the blue and white line.  i think it is hardware issues. also, the battery can't get full chagre. when it reaches 70 or 80 percent, it show that not charging. How can I ask for fix ? it is under warranty. i tried hard to chat with support, but the system is always unaviable.

Troubleshooting issues that will not allow my laptop and external monitor to  connect.

Using HDMI cable.  I have tried 3 cables.  TV will also not detect HDMI w laptop.

I have tried all resolutions.

I have updated BIOS driver.

I attempted to install udpated graphics driver but my system indicates the best driver is already installed.

I really need to connect to my external drive for training classes.  

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I have HP Notebook. This laptop has a touchscreen that I have used since it was purchased. Suddenly with no reason, the HID Compliant touchscreen is not working. I looked up in Device Manager and it said error 45. I used HP support forum which said to uninstall and then reinstall HID Compliant touchscreen. I uninstalled it but now after doing all Windows updates (it did not reinstall) and searching for the driver on HP site and elsewhere (could not find) I am stuck with no touchscreen. Can you please send driver so I can reinstall, or help me to reacquire touchscreen capability? Thank you.

Hi folks,

 

So I've had my HP Omen 15" i7 7700 GTX 1060 Max Q 8GB Ram for 8 days...
I've used it for gaming for about 4 days. Today when trying to play Fortnite Battle Royale and PUBG I am experiencing freezing after about 5 minutes of gaming. After reading numerous posts online regarding this issue with the HP Omen notebooks, I unplugged the AC Adapter which initially stops the freeze and I can continue gaming for a few more minutes until it freezes again. Using the trackpad doesn't work, there's no cursor. The trackpad buttons beep when pressed and don't function. Control Alt Del works,  you just have to use the TAB key to move. When you TAB across to the power options and click restart, it doesn't restart. The screen goes black and the keyboard remains lit until you physically hold down the power button to shut it down.

I paid £1,100 for this notebook and having it completely freeze on day 8 has annoyed me somewhat.  So, my question is, does anybody know of a fix for this, if so can you let me know ASAP, because if not, I'll be returning it to the retailer for a refund.

I'm projecting video from my Ideapad 100 to a Philips smart TV using  "Connect" and  "Wireless Screencasting".  Before I discovered this, we used  an hdmi cable.

 

All was well until recently  when the video on the TV  monitor started to play up, stopping every 10 seconds or so then catching up.  Playing video downloads is worse than streaming.  Video on my notepad is  fine.  

 

I've tried updating drivers, fiddling with resolutions  and checking screen refresh rates, all on my Ideapad 100 - no joy.  My understanding is that the problem originates in the notepad although it only manifests itself in the second TV monitor.

 

Advice, please.  The HP support notes for troubleshooting video projection were no help inasmuch as they don't cover this problem.

hai there! i got some problem regarding about the monitor color. i bought my pc a month ago. my pc and the picture that i print are not the same color. how i solve this problem. my monitor look so yellow on the face and the sky look cyan to me.

Having tried to output my computer to TV, frustrating but HDMI failed to work.  Have no 'Advanced Display Settings' so I cannot even try to force an output.  During testing, 'Thunderbolt' test failed with the following ID: PTV55A-86N91S-MFGJLK-8GSH03.  I have no idea what this means.

I have disabled video driver, re-installed Intel HD graphics, checked for update.  All is, as far as I can tell, as upto date as it can be, yet still no HDMI output.  

Can't say that I have ever tried it before, so I do not know whether it actually worked out of the box.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried it again today and it seems ok without being plugged in.

I believe the CPU is overheating. HP Cool Sense doesn't give any options to change the fan settings so not sure what to do. Any ideas?

touch screen stopped working  followed hp advisor and uninstalled hid compliant touch screen driver and restarted computer  touch screen driver did not reinstall as hp advisor states . how can I get driver reinstalled  ? thanks

i tried to updated

unistalled it and tried to find the drive to updated it

Hello,

since a week my laptop got an issue that I noticed it's about drivers update, both USB Input Device and Touchscreen are shown out-of-date and the system is asking for an update. This is resulting in the impossibility of the use of the touchscreen and all the USB accessories are recognized only as plug-and-play (e.g. i've got a mouse that use an external program that doesn't recognize the periferial anymore). Needlessly to say that this happened just after the 1y warranty expired... (and everything worked just fine untill then).
There comes the problems: I've tried all possible ways to update them but there seams to be no solution.
First of all i've tried to update it from Windows itself althought i've never seen it working... and indeed there was no result.

The second try was to update it manually from HP webpage, it was a bit more than A try becouse every time I've started the download it suddently stopped, after a day i've downloaded couple drivers but when running the wizard it told me that was uneeded. So i kept it up and tried with the proper button on the HP Support Assistant, but after the check up it told me that there was no need of updates as there where no errors.
I then check up with external programs (I won't write the names but those are two of the most known) and indeed they found some foult but surprisingly enough none was about either the touchscreen nor the USB.
So i've decided to look up into the HP Forum for any possible solutions, here I've found a similiar problem

and I've decided to follow the istructions the expertet was giving there and so:
-I've performed a diagnostic test (nothing came up)

-Enabled the touchscreen driver in Device Manager (already enabled)

-Check in HID if for HD-compliant touch screen was found (it wasn't)

-Done Hardsets (no results)

-Done Hardware Tests & Component Tests (Passed)

-Tried running in Safe Mode (not working).

 

My first thought was a conflict since i've unistalled my previous antivirus (becouse it expired) and installed a trial of a new one and short after the problems came up, but after unistalling the new antivirus and installing a new one nothing changed.

I'm in your care for anything at this point.

P.S.: I'm sorry for my english...I'm Italian.

Hi, the tough pad on my daughters lap top does not work.

 

I have been through the fix it guides but without success.

 

When I go to the mouse properties the synapties icon is missing but I can not work out how to install it.

I wanted to purchase replacement screen/display for my laptop which got cracked vertically

Since it is out of warranty I wanted to place an order with your authorised spare part partner Maxtone Maxtone Electronics Pvt.Ltd.,

After ascertaining the exact part number from the display sticker, Maxtone quoted a price and I paid the same. The part they supplied is of local China make and does not match the specifications of the original HP Part. Now they have asked me to return the part for replacement and are not in a position to source the HP Part as ordered and I am sending repeated reminders to them for either part supply or refund of the amount paid

Hi , can some one help me with this. I have a Pavilion Notebook17-f165nb with AMD A10-5745M APU with Radeon(TM) HD 8610G (primary) and AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M260 (linked). I'd like to use the AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M260 as primary adapter but there's no option in UEFI/BIOS and software to switch grafics adapter. When i use a program like GIMP , Adobe Photoshop and even MS paint my grafics operates very slow. When i use a benchmark utility to test my both grafic cards when using AMD System Monitor , i conclude that the AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M260 is linked (in software settings) but doesn't work at all when load goes up. The HD8610 and the A10-5745 do all of the work with very slow results. Is there any solution to get them both work ? I updated al drivers.

I want to buy two external monitors to connect to my hp spectre laptop while I'm at my desk. So when I'm at my desk I would ideally be able to connect my laptop to the both screens and close my laptop screen but use the laptop to power the two external monitors. How would I this with my laptop? Because I only have 1 hdmi port so I don't know if you could split that to two monitors. Or my other idea was to maybe use the mini display port, but i'm not too familiar with that. Any guidance on this issue would be great, thanks in advance!
