I have recently purchased an HP Envy laptop. I am having issues connecting to a projector. The HDMI Cable is plugged in and connected to the laptop and projector. I haven try to hit the f4 button and duplicate, use only second screen and all the other options but the projector screen just goes black. Is this an issue with the projector or my laptop or is there some other button I need to be hitting to connect it to a projector? I know the projector works as other people have used their laptops and connected just fine.

 

 Also it's windows 10 64 bit

I just bought a 15" Spectre x360 with 4K screen. (I love it) When running on Battery power, regardless of battery level, the screen backlight pulses ever so slightly maybe a little bit faster than 1 pulse per second. It is not noticeable on white areas of the screen, but anywhere with light gray to dark colors makes it quite obvious. It's the most annoying when seen through my peripheral vision.

 

I have noticed that if the machine is engaged then the pulsing stops, for example, if I am typing and simply hold a key on the keyboard down the backlight will not pulse as long as the key is inputting data, as soon as I release the key it will start to pulse again.

 

It also seems to pulse in time with the arrow keys, if I press the any of the arrow keys the pulse of light will keep sync with the key presses (IE if I press the right arrow key rapidly, the screen will pulse rapidly), but not so with other keys.        

 

I have the most recent BIOS and software updates.

 

There is no such issue while the laptop is plugged in.

My Spectre X360 was working fine using the second monitor connected via DisplayPort from the port replicator -HP3001pr with Win 10 1607.

Did a wipe and reload with Win 10 1703 and the monitor simply does not get detected. Installed all the latest drivers and firmware for both the Spectre and the Port Replicator, still no good. When connected directly to the laptop via Mini-DisplayPort the same monitor works perfectly (Slightly defeats the point of having a port replicator).  

 

Any suggestions?

I have a Spectre X360 with the i5 chip. When the machine is started from off or hibernation, the on screen keyboard takes up to 30 seconds to stay open after the rest of the computer is ready. The keyboard will appear on command, and then immediately disappear after every attempt to open it until the 30 second period has elapsed. This only involves the on screen keyboard - the physical keyboard has no problem.

 

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and how to cure it? Thanks in advance.

Hello please I cannot connect my PC to the TV using HDMI. It's seem that the HDMI port is not activated. I've tried to download some drivers but each time i get the error that the system doesn't have the minimal configuration required to install the software.

 

What can do?

I have an HP Envy Touchsmart 15 and the left hinge and surrounding case have separated.  It started with a screw falling out and has progressed to the point where it is difficult to open/close the laptop and I can hear rattling sounds inside the computer.  I'm pretty disappointed because HP is supposed to be a top brand and I did a lot of research before getting this machine.  

 

What can be done to fix my computer?

I'm not able to open nvidia control panel. Whenever I open it says "You are not currently using a display attached to nvidia GPU. Please help to fix this issue asap.

I am using my HP Pro 610 tablet since 2016. Recently touchpad is not working and not showing calibration in control panel. 12C HID device having yellow mark in device manager. i have been reset my tablet one time and reinstall all drivers but same issue. Please help...

Hello , I have an OMEN hp 15 I bought this laptop 6 months ago and I just noticed tonight (July 18)   3 white spot on my screen what could it be ? It feels terrible every time I see those white spots  knowing that it is new .. any idea what could it be?

How can a replacement display cost $1184.00 on a PC that cost as much. I broke my screen and I need to replace it. **bleep**? I really need a better solution than this.

I bought my son this for college. About every 20 seconds, the screen would freeze for a second. Meaning the mouse and video would stop, but we could hear it playing in the background. After a second, it would show the mouse in the correct position. We updated the drivers with no luck.

 

We took it back to Best Buy and swapped it. The new one (same model) is doing the same thing. We updated the BIOS and all the drivers. We tried drivers from HP and from Intel. It worked for about an hour and then the freeze started again. With the latest BIOS, the screen flickers with "garbage" (random pixels) in areas of the screen.

 

I'm a programmer and have built lots of computers. So, we know how to update the BIOS, drivers, etc. All this has happened on 2 laptops without us adding any extra software or removing the HP software. It's straight out of the box and with the updates from HP's site.

 

Other than this, we love the laptop. However, 2 out of 2 isn't a good sign. Help.

Having problems with screen. Is flickering and almost mirror images. But is white on bottom of screen looks like mountains with vertical and horizontal lines going through it. Nvidia card is up to date

A black intermittent screen sometimes appears to me at the start of the PC, sometimes out of nowhere. How can I fix it?
The application that blocks it is microsoft - windows - Operating system

I'm trying to raise an on line support case for an HP250 G4, serial number  [Personal Information Removed], Product T6P52EA#ABU.

 

HP support on line won't recognise these details so I cant open a support case.

 

I was told by HP telephone support that this is a 'Business' unit, I called the 0207 949 0416 Business support which was 'experiencing technical probelms and couldn't accpet my call'.

 

Anyone suggest my next step / who to contact.  The notebook is just within 1 year warranty so I need to raise support case quickly.  Issue is no display including VGA and HDMI external mointors.

My laptop was stepped on this morning and the screen was cracked as a result. The display appears to be undamaged and touch capabilities have not been affected. However, the crack is spreading and clearly needs to be repaired. My laptop is still covered by the base/manufacturer warranty. Will this help me at all? Also, where do I need to take it? Will any PC repair shop be okay, or do I need to take it to an HP-authorized service station? What kind of cost am I looking at?

Hey,

I got a problem which has being happening for a few months now the issue is that when ever i boot up my elitebook i get a message telling to that the product information is not valid, I tried some videos on youtube but they did not work is got a error when i tried to write the information "Failed to write SKU number" .

I got in contact with an agent who could not help me with the issue instead they sent a quote to a service centre near me for 280 euro. I am not paying that for a laptop that is a few years old and on ebay you can pick up 2 elitebook 8440p laptops for that price, They told me that the motherbord had to be replaced.

Someone please help me im not paying for someone to try and fix it for me,
