Hinges Broken

I own a HP Envy x360 and Pavilion x360.  Both of these has a broken hinge which does not allow the screen to open without causing damage.

 

History:  My Envy is about two years old and this problem started about a year ago.  I figured it was from the amount of travel I do for work.  This was my primary work travel computer as well as being my personal use computer.  The left side hinge started with a small popping noise and has now cause extensive screen damage, enough to where it is completely unusable.

 

My Pavilion is about 1 1/2 years old and was a gift for my wife.  This computer stays stationary and does not travel.  Last week it started having the same issue but on the right side.  No screen damage yet.

 

From searching through the community I see this is a fairly common problem.  Is there a fix or recall put in place by HP for a possibly defective screen hinge?

Connecting laptop to TV via HDMI

Attempted to connect my LT to Sony Bravia KDL-60W...via HDMI cable and new Display port adapter for HP......

NO signal......100% sure on right INPUT on TV......switched my  cable box HDMI  to HDMI port  and that worked so HDMI port OK...

Tried another HP LT Elitebook 2570P and same result .....NO signal.....

Watched UTube and searched for answers and nothing....

Display port adapter not working ??...brand new out of package.....

Tried W+P key and checked DUPLICATE ...nothing..... 

 

Maybe i'm just dense ........

What am I missing ??

Dual monitor setup for hp pavilion power laptop 15-cb0xx

Hi,

 

I have an hp pavilion power laptop 15-cb0xx, I already have an extra monitor through the single hdmi port. But i want to add a second monitor to my setup but i have no video ports left. I do have a USB type C port but i don't know if i can hook a monitor up through a USB type C to HDMI/DisplayPort cable.. Or do i need a dock for this type of set up?

 

I hope someone can help me out with this!!!

HP G2 Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station

The VGA port on my G2 Dock works but my 2 displayports don't work.

I've tried to update my drivers on both my ZBook and G2 Dock, but it failed to install.

When i run the HP Firmware Installer allmost everything is up to date except for my Thunderbolt Controller, that gives the message: "Unable to communicate with device, Firmware cannot be installed. Failed to detect thunderbolt controller version.".

After trying to update the dock via the HP Support Assistant, which also failed, even the VGA port doesn't work anymore.

The USB ports do still work.

Pavillion black screen

Hi There, i have been given a Pavillion 15 -P005AX running Win 10 home with a AMD Radeon R4 Graphics card (AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M260). when i boot normally it starts but just goes to a black screen. 
if i boot in safe mode, it boots as expected. i have looked at device manager and there is a couple of issues...
1/ under firmware "System Firmware" has a Yellow exclamation but "Details are unavailable in Safe Mode"

2/ under Monitors "PnP Monitors" also has a Yellow exclamation mark.

3/ 2 "Unknown devices"

i presume Number 2 requires a driver to get the correct display once in "Normal  Boot", which i can then deal with the other issues.

i have d/loaded the appropriate drivers from this site but none have worked and have displayed an error "Failed to load Detection Driver"
i went to the Radeon site and D/loaded the appropriate driver for the AMD Radeon (TM) R7 M260 and when i try to run this one i get the same error as above or i have also had a "Unsigned Driver" error

i also dont get network whilst in safe mode so cant check online for updated drivers...

 

can you pleas help me

HP Spectre HDMI Adapter

Recently the HP UBS-C HDMI adapter that came with the HP Spectre started to malfunction. I get the following error message.

Other HDMI adapters (generic ones) work. Only the HP adapter has issues. When I tested the HP adapter using another laptop it worked fine, so the device is not faulty, but the way it communicates with my HP Spectre is. Help!

Can I lock tablet pins?

I like my pins in a certain position in tablet mode but when I switch between modes they always revert and I have to reposition them. Is there any way to lock them in to position so I don't have to keep moving them?

am having two issues on ground now 

1 opengl please is it posible to download a opengl software and install because i did a lot of research already 

and i was seen download opengl version 3.1 and more and i want to update my open gl version from 2.0 to 3.0

2 am unable to install intel video drivers error code 43 and window succesfull install it and it not working please help me urtgently

How to connect 2 external monitors, 1 HDMI and another VGA?

I have a Spectre x360 13-ap0004np, and I would like to connect 2 external monitors, one of which is old and only has VGA connection, whereas the other is a new with HDMI.

 

I bought the HP USB-C Travel Dock (https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-spectre-usb-c%E2%84%A2-travel-dock) and when I connect both only the HDMI is detected, and when I disconnect the HDMI automatically the VGA is detected.

 

Question:

Is there a way I can connect both these monitors at the same time, even if extra adapters are needed? The laptop monitor is not relevant in this case.

Multiple bright white pixels on laptop display

recently some bright pixels started to appear on my laptop display.

I've bought my laptop a year ago more or less, can I send it to service for repairement?

I've attached a photo of the display, some spots are not visible but are there.

TV does not detect input from HP Elitebook

When I connect an HDMI cable to my Elitebook, the television display says nothing is connected.

If I connect the same HDMI cable to another laptop, the television connects to it and can be used to play videos on the TV screen.

In a different room, if I connect a different HDMI cable with a different display to this laptop, I am able to use that display normally. It is a computer monitor instead of a Vizio TV. 

I have tried restarting the Elitebook, no difference. I have tried looking at the display settings, it does not admit there's another display. I have tried the button on the settings that attempts to detect a display, it says there is not another one.

How else could I get the TV working with this laptop?

I bought this laptop last year, and they told me it was the latest one. But once I turned it on, it started to get stuck. It displays so stumble that I don't think it's worth 1500 dollars. Then I asked my friends and they told me it's because of the 128 Mb graphics. I knew nothing about computer terms at first. I think that I'm deceived because nobody told me this computer goes with 128 Mb graphics and will be so stumble. I wonder whether I can get it fixed or simply return it. 🙂

The screen display flip 360 to when i am on linux

At inicial i have a computer notebook with a only operating system, that operating system is Windows, then i want to turn my computer into a dual boot system so i installed Elementory, an Ubutun distribution, and then the problem started only in linux system, the window display rotate 360 every time but not always, this only happens on linux, there is not problem with windows. Also appear other problems like the clock in windows and linux are not the same and the keyboard language changed.

Black ccreen AND pixels

Hi everyone,

 

I bough recently my HP omen 17, and i encounted random crashes while in game (several video games). 
My screen becomes black with multicolor pixels on all its length.  It appears for several seconds then my screen appears again. It resets the luminosity (place it to the highest level) and also the night mdoe if i have it on.  

Do you have any idea please ?
