I'm having the some trouble with my 8440p that has been discussed here a lot: the brightness of the display not working with the function keys (fn+F-keys).
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

Screen flickers with grey horizontal and vertical lines when i open the laptop lid after closing it
Ok guys
My problem is, I brought a brand new laptop, and whenever I close the lid and open it, by pressing the power button the screen is a grey flickering mess with vertical and horizontal lines
I can move the mouse pointer which is not exactly a pointer but rather a glitchy cube

FPS drops when on battery
When run on battery, my fps drops from 60-70 fps to 20-30 in Overwatch no matter in low or high graphic setting.
This happens only in battery mode.
I just bought my laptop 3 days ago and since then I can't fix this problem.
I have tried changing battery option to high performance and uncheck "Battery Boost" in NVIDIA GeForce Experience menu but didn't work.
Also, I couldn't install BIOS update on HP Support Assistant. It keeps saying "Failed" after many attempts to install.

Hp envy x 360 screen flickering on ubuntu 16
I purchased this hp model with pre-installed windows 10, but immediately uninstalled and installed ubuntu 16. Everything else is working fine except screen flickering during booting and after. This happens on any window i open or even when the screen is idle. Grey horizontal lines flickers on the screen and I have tried adjusting refresh rate in vain. I will be gratefull for any assistance.

HID-compliant touch screen driver missing after installing wrong driver
Hi everyone,
Trying to update my touchscreen driver for smartpen (stylus) compatibility, i accidentely downloaded and launched the wrong driver (sp74835). The later is ment for a Spectre 15-ap000 x360. The installation failed and i lost all touchscreen functionnality after that.
In device manager, HID-compliant touch screen is missing and therefore i cannot update the driver. Is there a way i can re-install the touchscreen diver. A system restore doen not work for some reason.

Hi,
I have a problem with my HP Notebook - 15-ac129nia (ENERGY STAR).
I recently install Windows 7 (64-bit) previously windows 10 (64-bit) pre-install.
I have install all drivers for the win 7 on the HP Official site and all was install perfectly.
After update by windows some adapters were install and i lost the two swicthable Intel and AMD graphic card.
I really don't know what to do.
I can't play any games and all that i do resume to be not the solution.
My graphics are Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500& AMD Radeon R5 M330.

Disappearing cursor with touch screen HP envy m7-n101dx
Several weeks ago I started to have a problem with my cursor suddenly disappearing. It can be brought back with the track pad, but disappears immediately again if I touch the screen. If I plug in a mouse and only use that the cursor stays. The only fix generally is a reboot although following one occurrence it spontaneously reappeared as a functional touch screen cursor sometime after disappearing.
This question was posted on a Windows forum and per the recommendations there I have updated several drivers from within windows device manager (or found them to be the latest) and by downloads from HP site (chipset, There was a previous similar question for Windows 8 in which the solutions included updating the system event utility from HP, which I do not believe I have done if that is still a potential solution, The problem persists I also had an occasion yesterday, just the second such, where the cursor was moving on its own and I was unable to use or control it or make any selections and had to do a hard shutdown/restart. Hardware failing?

Projector Does Not Work on Folio 1040 G3
We have several older DLP projectors that will not work with the Elitebook Folio 1040 G3. The projector does not sense that it is connected to the Folio 1040 G3 and it continually searches for a connected PC. The 1040 G3 uses a dock connector with Ethernet and VGA adapters on it. The most current Intel grapics driver is loaded as well as all other drivers available through the HP Softpaq Download Manager. The DLP projectors support resoloutions of 1024x768 and 1280x1024. We have confirmed they are working with Other HP notebooks such as the 8470p.

typing letter t or y moves the cursor
I have a new EliteBook laptop. Nearly every time I type the letter 't' or 'y' the cursor moves. (for the previous sentence, the cursor moved to between the l and i in Elite when I typed ty in the word "typed"). It is very annoying. I do not think I am hitting the mousepad as I reach for these letters. As this is a new computer, it has not had anything spilled on it nor has it had any (known to me) bumps or bangs.
Any thoughts?

The touch screen on my laptop is clicking itself
Touch screen began to experience phantom touches in the lower and upper right hand corners of the screen. It interferes with the use of the laptop entirely, preventing me from even turning off the drivers to disable the touch function of the screen. I can only power the laptop off by pressing and holding the power button for several seconds. On reboot, PC behaves normally for up to 1 minute until phantom clicking resumes.
I would have have emailed support directly, but it seems I have no options but to call, which will not resolve my issue.

Random file opening
I have a HP Envy TouchSmart 15 Notebook which is about 2 and half years old and it has suddenly started to 'misbehave'.
The mouse point is always moving around and obviously is very difficult to control. It also randomly opens and closes files.
