Can I Change my Graphics Card ..It Has Intel HD graphics 520 ...Which Other graphics card are supported

Laptop won't use dedicated graphics card (Radeon R7 m260)

Product Name: HP Pavilion 17-f100nr
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 17-f100nr:

AMD A10-5745M with AMD Radeon HD 8610G 768MB integrated graphics card
AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB (dedicated graphics card)
8 GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit

The problem is that the laptop refuses to make any use of the R7 m260... for video games and everything, it's always using the integrated HD 8610G.

The laptop detects the R7 card, as it is shown in the device manager, as well as a 'linked card' on the CCC and on other programs like AMD System Monitor. But the card simply doesn't do it's job, it doesn't start working. I've used the AMD System Monitor to check if it had any activity, and it's always 0.

I have read many other posts on the internet about people with the same problem, and I've tried every solution that people suggested, without any luck:

- I have used the Catalyst Control Center to control the Switchable Graphics and set my games to high performance. This should make the R7 be the main graphics card for that videogame, but it doesn't work. There's also a switchable graphics monitor in the CCC, I activate it to see what card is being used when playing a game, but even the monitor doesn't work! it doesn't show the game's .exe.

- I've tried like 4 different drivers for the graphics card, the newest, the beta drivers, the latest from the HP website for my laptop's model, and an older version. Still, the R7 doesn't show any activity anywhere. Every time I changed drivers, I used the Removal Tool (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove everything completely before the new installation.

- I have also set my laptop to use a high performance profile of settings on the battery section, as I read this could affect whether the computer will use one card or the other, but no change.

Why isn't my laptop making use of the R7 m260?

Damaged matrix and screen resolution changing

Today I found out that matrix of my laptop got damaged:UJSZOy6qa_8.jpg

As you can see, not that much, around 2 cms wide, so changing matrix is unnecessery.

All I want is to move screen a bit right and deactivate broken part (on normal monitors I can do that by using side buttons kinda easily). Problem is I cant find such options on my laptop.

17-g101dx causes external monitor to randomly blank out

I have a HP Pavilion 17-g101dx with i5 5200u, running Win 10 home version 1511 build 10586.71.

I am experiencing the second monitor randomly blanking out for a few seconds then returning to normal. There seems to be no common time when this happens.

The monitor that is blanking out is a HP23bw. This monitor runs fine on my Lenovo and it ran fine on the previous ASUS.

There is no apparent link between computer operations and the monitor blanking out. By that I mean, the laptop doesn’t blank out, you can keep typing and it shows up when it returns, it doesn’t correlate to opening and closing web windows, or programs.

Trouble shooting so far

--Replaced HDMI cable with known good cables

--reinstalled video drivers

--reinstalled graphics driver

--Ran hardware diagnostics- no issues

--Running an older Samsung 226bw monitor on the HP through an HDMI to DVI cable—no problems noted there

--Double checked power connections

-- running the HP monitor on my Lenovo through HDMI with no issues

Graphics driver is10.18.15.4281

Laptop won't play videos

Ever since I've had my laptop (I bought it in August 2015) it hasn't been able to play videos. I can watch things online fine, but when I try to play any video files on my laptop the windows just close. Even if I'm just in my documents and open a folder that has a video file in it, my laptop can't deal with it and closes the documents window. Initially it did this with DVDs, as the installed programs that play DVDs would crash after a few seconds, but I downloaded VLC media player which fixed that. If I'm really quick and manage to open a video file in VLC media player before the window closes then I can watch it.

Also, my webcam only works sporadically. If I open the webcam app on my laptop it says there is an error with the webcam. If I open it through YouCam then sometimes it works but more often than not it isn't detected. I can't skype or video call on facebook or anything. Again, this has been an issue since I first got the laptop. I don't know if that's related to the video-playing problem?

Any help would be really appreciated! I should have taken this in somewhere to get it sorted out ages ago but I've been crazy busy.

15-f162dx: Cursor Jumping Around, Screen Has Popping Bubbles

$

Helping a relative with an HP 15 I helped him buy last April. (Yeah, I'm the one people go to for tech problems usually.)

This thing with the cursor jumping around and bubbles expanding on the display and *popping* has apparently been described by others as a problem before, but the first solutions offered were the drastic: like using System Recovery immediately. What kind of tech offers that immediately?? Anyway, I don't think System Recovery and option, since it appears media not created.

This has all the looks of some virus. A power cycle will boot the system where it is interacting normally. Then after a time, cursor jumping and bubble popping starts happening. If browser window is open, the client window content zooms in and out as if hitting Ctrl-+ or Ctrl-minus. There's no way to wrangle the cursor with the touchpad.

Ran Malwarebytes premium trial which removed 3 PUP: two things in registry and some image file in App folder tree. But the same behavior still occurs.

Power restart to F2 key shows the TouchScreen (not the TouchPad) completely unresponsive in the erase blocks and drag&drop test! Great! 11 months or so since purchase, and now it seems like there is the nightmare of dealing with warranty support, seemingly not HP's greatest strength!

Before all this, I noticed Support Assistant said there were 12 updates to hardware drivers & other software. That was done but the problem persists. Nonetheless, we're all good with the Support Assistant.

Other things to try: maybe I can eliminate this with System Restore

HP Envy cursor will jump unexpectedly an intermitttently to a random location on the screen

I have had my HP Envy 15 Notebook since Aug-15.

I am mostly pleased with it mainly because my Dell Inspiron, purchased in 2006,  has become obsolete and ground to something which is only slightly betten that "a halt". It's needs to be rebuilt with Window 7!

However, I have noticed the following which are inferior to my "otherwise dead" Inspiron:

1. The hp keyboard:

The keys don't always register. Sometimes I am typing away and when I read what's typed, there are letters missing!

On the plus side, I have gotten better at hitting the keys more firmly. Also, the Return key is too far to the right for my pinky to strike it easily. The up/down arrows and the page up and page down keys are only half the size of normal keys and you will notice it when you want to scroll just using one hand.

2. The left-click / right-click took some getting use to but I have mastered it now. Watch out for "pinch" resizing. If you have made contact with the keypad in more than one place, you can cause the windows to resize unintensionally.

3. Finally, and this is the biggest problem which I don't know how to workaround:

The cursor has this habit of repositioning itself at random locations. At first I thought that it was becase the palms of my hand were making contact with the keypad and causing the cursor to go to a different position on the screen. But I found that it would happen even when I am using a mouse. You would think when a mouse is plugged in that the keypad would be disabled!

Hello,

i have noticed two yellow circles in upper left and right corners of my hp spectres FHD display. It looks like burn in circles visible only on bright and white background.

I have already updated all software with hp assistant but there is no differece.

I have noticed though that when background is very dark there is some backlight bleed in same corners.

Here is two photos of my problem. What concerns me, will those circles grow as time goes?

I want to state that there is no mechanical damage from the time when i bought this nice notebook.

I would appreciate you suggestion, what should i do.

Video Card Driver and Optimus "thingie" ....

Hello all,

I have a problem with the video drivers.

I tried downloading in any way the file NVIDIA High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - sp72727.exe

but every time i try to install it, i get the error:

"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."

Is there any way obtaining a valid copy of this file ?

Does HP did that on purpose, making that available in support drivers page ?

And lastly, how can i make my nVidia video card be the only one whos working on my laptop, like really - the bios,  has 99% of the tabs locked // so do i need to search the web for some way of modding my bios or such ?

I own a HP Envy 17-1195ca 3D Edition Notebook

Its running windows 10 for 4-5months already, never had a problem at all since yesterday.

I turned on the laptop and the laptop screen was black, so i turn it off and tried it again still black. I tried doing the hard reset and its still black screen, i tried taking the memory out and putting one back to see if the memory or hard drive was the problem but nope the screen is still black.

I tooked up a monitor first using the HDMI port and it works the TV shows my screen from my laptop it shows windows, it shows even bios on the tv.

so i turn off the laptop unplug the HDMI and turn the laptop back on, the laptop screen is still black.

now i gave up and about 4 hours later tried the laptop again just turning it on, and the laptop screen is working now.

after playing on the laptop i turned it off and when i came back to use the laptop i turn the laptop on and the screen is now doing it again black screen

I updated bios, i did a hard reset, installed the drivers for chipset/ video/ nothing is working the laptop screen will turn on when it feels like it but the HDMI always works .

Any one got a idea of fixing this problem ! Installing Windows 7 right now to see if that will fix the problem

That's right! I Fixed........ my Toshiba laptop  screen hinge with epoxy so I can throw my brand new HP in a closet and use a machine that actually has a mousepad not designed to enrage the user. My HP is such a bad product I frequently treat it roughly praying that one day it breaks so I have a good reason to go to best buy and replace it with another TOSHIBA.

Dell Active Stylus Pen Not Working on Spectre x360

I bought a Dell Active Pen for my computer, and whenever it hovers next to the screen, it is recognized with a cursor in the place it's hovering over, but I cannot open or tap anything with it. I must apply extreme, prolongued pressure to open applications or write something with it, and I know that this is hazardous to the screen. Is there a way to fix this?
