The font in my email program is set to 12, but when I reply to a message the text becomes so diminished, and I cannot respond, nor can I correct the issue.

This happened Summer 2014 and It's driving me nuts.  I know it's a win 8.1 problem.  However, presently, the 'teeny weeny font size' is only happening inside my outlook mail where I have my AOL mail set up as "pop mail" 

 

this happened when I accidently swiped something on the keyboard mousepad, across the screen.  The text size diminished and I've tried to correct it but cannot.  I can't even recreate the problem.  I'm very angry that HP has been "out to lunch' with any support since I purchased this operating system.  Will somebody please help me!!!

I purchased this ENVY 15-k020us a few months ago running Windows 8.1, and the touch screen no longer responds.  When I got it, the touch screen worked fine. After a couple of months, the touch screen was working sporadically, and then it stopped working all together. I found posts about similar issues in the forums but none of the solutions have worked. The touch screen is hidden in Device Manager, and I can't enable it because it says that it is not connected.  I tried updating the display drivers and BIOS, but neither of those fixed the issue.  I tried preforming a hard reset by removing the battery and holding the power button for 20 seconds and running HP Support Assistant, but the touch screen still will not work. I searched the computer for Tablet PC Settings and for Pen and Touch settings, but these features appear to not exist. I am not sure how to proceed from here, please advise.

Hello,

 

I have a core i5 HP pavilion dv6 entertainment notebook pc with the following specs:

 

Processor: 2.53Ghz

RAM: 8 Gb

Operating system: Win 7 x64

AMD Radeon HD 6500M/5600/5700 Series: 1 GB

System Model: 3141se

 

I had a recovery partition on my laptop but a while back when I tried to run it, I kept on getting the same error message " your partition is of GPT style or something like that" and I had to wipe the whole drive and tried recovering from the backup DVDs, without any luck.

 

Having said that, I installed another copy of Win 7 with the original key provided and it was working fine. A couple of days back I installed a fresh copy of windows and now the problem I am facing is something like that:

 

Built-in intel display and AMD display driver installs, but I dont see anything in adapter section. Which means no graphics card is installed. When ever I install AMD catalyst driver, my windows turn black and stay that way forever (even though windows in running normally). 

 

Whenever I disable built-in display driver from "device manager" it  works fine. But I have had no luck installing AMD catalyst control, I tried literally every version available. 

 

Kindly, help me fix this issue. My Laptop is a crap without the graphics card.

Hello HP Support,  I need your help!

 

I have an HP 430  Notebook  PC, Product number: QG620PA#ACJ running on Windows 8.1 32-bit.

Systemroduct number: QG620PA#ACJ RAM: 4 GB. Serial No- 5CB13021VZ

Processor Graphics in use: Intel(R) HD Graphics, 

 

 a white vertical line has appeared on the right-hand side of the screen, and it doesn't go away.  I cannot watch films or videos, do any work without this line disturbing the screen, it is really annoying and unpleasant.  Please help me.

I get a green screen on some videos but not all.  I can play YouTube and videos on news sites.  So far the green screen only appears on the ABC News site and also personal videos.

 

Have all updates current.  Also have done the checking of the GPU in the Advanced spot that has been posted and it worked for a day and then back to green.  Yesterday I updated HP files and was able to play all videos.  Today right back to the green screen at the one site and also the personal vids.  BTW on the ABC it plays adverts but not the video of the news story whatever it mght be..

 

I am very frustrated as not sure is it an HP challenge or a Windows challenge or an IE challenge which of course would go with the 2nd one mentioned.  I am not the most tech savvy person which makes it even more of a challenge. Have had this laptop for less than a month.

I have a Hp 15 notebook but I can't find any graphics drivers that will work on it or a equivalent that will work.Pls! point me in the right direction.I am running win 7 64-bit OS on it .

Hi,

I recently encountered a problem playing DVDs on my HP laptop.  Previously I had been able to insert a disk into my laptop which would automatically launch CyberLink PowerDVD 11 (maybe release 446 ?), from which I was able to watch a complete movie.

 

Within the last few days when I tried to play a DVD, PowerDVD would freeze within the first minute of starting the playback.  I tried other disks and encountered the same problem each time.  (BTW, I also tried using the Windows Media Player and the image was very pixelated, so I don't know if the problems are related.)

 

I searched online for a solution and came across the following for PowerDVD 12:

I tried following the above suggestion to delete the PowerDVD software via my Control Panel (I didn't see any "Power Media Player"), and after restarting my computer I was also able to delete the "CyberLink" directory from C:\Program Files (x86).

 

I've tried to download and install a new PowerDVD player from:

h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5212842&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4059

and

http://www.cyberlink.com/support/powerdvd-ultra/patches_en_US.html,

but in both cases during the installation of the software I receive a message similar to the following:

There is a "Backup in progress" message constantly being displayed on my desktop screen and I don't seem to be able to delete or iconize it.   Here is the complete message in the box on the lower right side of my display:

 

     Backup in progress

 

     You can use Action Center to review recent

     messages about your computer's status and

     find solutions to problems.

 

     Open Action Center

 

 I tried both left and right clicking on the box which had no effect.  I tried dragging the box to another location on the screen and that did not work. 

 

I tried going into Action Center in hopes of finding a way to turn the message box off.  No help there.

 

Your help in getting this box off of my display screen would be appreciated.

I'm unsure of the name of my laptop but, I have all the numbers if someone can help me. I've had my computer for about 2 years, it has a built in camera. I have my camera option turned on, video, and everything, I even have it turned on to other apps. I can go to my camera and my light comes on indicating its on, however I do not get an image on the screen its just black and no pictures will take or go to any of my folders. So I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can get my camera to work.. It's been frustrating me the last two years I've had it.

How can I change my Simplepass settings so my 'password' (4 digits) are not shown on my screen, but instead are blacked out by large dots, like on other sites?  I don't want people to see the 4 digits if I have people with me when I use my computer!  Thanks.

Today when I turned on my computer, the inie HP logo came on and after that the screen went black with moveable cursor. I have waited for long time but atill the screen was stucknin that same black screen.

Hello,I have a problem with my gfx card on my laptop.I have HP Pavilion g6 2070se it got to gfx cards (Intel HD 4000) and the other (AMD Radeon HD 7670M) and my problem is i cant update the drivers first i went to amd.com to get the latest driver for my AMD and installed it but the windows turns to the VGA mode idk why and when i go to download the driver from the manufacturer site (manufacturer site) it seems to have old versions of the drivers but when i restart the widows installs the intel driver (old one) and when i downloaded the latest driver from intel site it gets and error msg and says that my pc is not supported with this driver and even the one i download form the manufacturer site and when i try to start the AMD catalyst control center it says that there is no AMD card detected and when i go to try to update them from the device manager it says that it is up to date.I think the amd driver is now updated and the catalyst control panel not working because of the intel card so please in need help to update the intel driver and this is the intel update driver software from intel site as the one on the manufacturer site is too old intel site

I can hook it up in my living room and everything works fine. Well the first few times I connected it in my bedroom it worked fine.  But now it will only show my desk top and icons at the bottome it won't show me nothing else such as what I'm searching or videos from youtube etc.  Any help would be awesome thanks

sir 2days back i  purchase 'compaq 15-008tu' with free dos os...than after i was upgrade windows8...but here i am facing some problem with working on my loptop.loptop's brightness was very high.when i was trying to decrease brightness it's not working..and i am trying 3failure ways to decrease brightness like holding f2,control panel powersaving option,windows mobility center..soo please give me suggestions to solve this problem...because i can't able to work with it..my eyes were so much irritated...

My video player instead of playing at times, the screen turns green. Audio still works fine. When this happens, I have to reboot my computer and then it goes back working.  Don't know what triggers it to do this. It happens mostly on videos that are put on facebook.  I just bought my computer and when it did this, I took it back to store and the Tech their didn't know what to do so he swapped it out for another identical computer. Now, this one does the same thing.

I orginally had windows 8.  I know it recently did an update.  I believe it is Windows 8.1 now but I have no idea if it is 32-bit or 64.  After upgrading my HP Envy to windows 8.1 I can no longer use the Cyberlink PowerDirecter software. Attempting to burn a DVD results in a windows error message "HW encode". I did go online and upgrade to PowerDirector 13 hoping it would solve the problem but it does not.

My screen shows different resolutions on the right and left sides w/a vertical line in the center dividing the two. I connected an external monitor and the problem disappears, so I conclude the problem is with my laptop.
