I just got this new computer and trying to make it work with the game Skyrim Elder Scrolls V. the game starts and runs ok however default is low quality with the detected 4600 intel video. Don't want to use the intel video anyway so does not matter much. What I want to use is the 740m nVidia video card.
I have gone into the nvida control panel and global set things to use the nividia card, in program files I have set all game exe files to use the nvidia card. I have gone into skyrimprefs and modified sd3ddivice to sD3DDevice="Nvidia GeForce GT 740M" when I launch game it resets video to low and when I look its still trying to use the intel card. The skyrimprefs file is over written with sD3DDevice="Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600".
So question is how do I get game to work with nVidia card? Or how do I disable the intel card?
