Vertical Band on Screen

Hello, 

I have had a HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j009wm Notebook PC for about 6 months now, and I love it. However, when I opened the laptop today and booted it, a white, thin, vertical line appeared on the  right side of the screen, and has not gone away. Is there a way to fix this, or is something wrong with the internal components of the screen, requiring me to send it in to be repaired?
