I have a HP Pavilion G6-1D80NR (Product Number - B4U19UA#ABA) laptop and I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.
The laptop belonged to one of my daughters', well her and her brother got in a tug o war match with the screen and ended up cracking the crystals in it. So we took it to be repaired, the screen was repaired but when we got home I turned it on to reformat it the display was very dim.
I tried the F-2 and F-3 which are the brightness keys on this laptop, and it would show me lowering or raising the display but it would have very little effect on the brightness. I went into the control panel to the display and checked their and everything was set to full brightness but it was still very dim. If I plug the AC adapter into the laptop it brightens the screen a little but not by much.
We called the place that replaced the screen and took it back in, they tried replacing the screen with another screen and that didn't fix it, they ordered and replaced the connector that connects the screen to the computer and that didn't fix the issue either. So we ended up picking the laptop back up tonight after them having it for 3 weeks. They don't know what is wrong with it and it was NOT having this problem before we dropped it off to have the screen replaced the first time.
Any ideas as to what the problem is. I am not sure if this model has an inverter or if it's LED or LCD. I just want to get this laptop fixed. Any help would be appreciated.
