My laptop usually renders video well. BUT, for some windows the display is problematic. My PDF reader, as well as games like Spider and Free Cell, will open normally and display properly, filling the window. But when I move the mouse over the window, the display shrinks within the window. For the games, the color is lost. For the PDF reader, the text is no longer sharp, and it is in various colors instead of black. At the same time, the mapping of the mouse to the content becomes inaccurate. The mouse maps to the window as a whole, not to what is visible in the window. So to select text at the right edge in the pdf, I have to select in the black space on the right side of the window.
I tried to update the drivers for the graphics controller (nvidia GeForce 7150m / nForce 630M) and the screen (Generic PnP Monitor), but the search results state the latest are already there.
What's up with this????
BTW, this is one of three of the same laptop that I bought for family use. The other two died from heat related issues; only mine - meticulously cared for - survives.
