I have a HP laptop : HP Pavilion Dv6t-3100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC 64bit
Product Number : WW144AV
AMD Driver : AMD Mobitlity Radeon 5000 series with Intel Driver
Earlier i had windows 7, and i recently upgraded to windows 8. Issue is, The HP provided driver for AMD doesnt install properly, as in, the installation finishes within like 40sec and says its completed but its actually not completed. In the device manager the driver is listed, but it says its not working properly.
Then i did a complete uninstall of it, and deleted everything using 'Display Driver Uninstaller" and downloaded the AMD Catalyst 13.11 mobility beta v9.4 from the AMD website and installed it. That installed perfectly, but then i had an issue with controlling brightness, it was at max and my brightness controls weren't working at all. When i switched to the intel driver brightness controls started working again.
Then i checked HP again for windows 8 AMD driver for the laptop, but it wasn't listed, only the windows 7 drivers are listed.
Really appreciate if someone could give me a solution for this as i'm stuck with this for almost a month :S
