How to remove a ''white'' dead pixel?

0
0

My HP Pavilion laptop, which is still under warranty, has developed a tiny white dot (dead pixel) , which gets rather annoying every time I see it sitting on my screen, how can this be fixed?

I have contacted HP a few weeks ago regarding this and, another unsolved issue with this laptop, but they wernt able to fix them.

I feel ripped off because I have bought additional warranty just to be on the safe side but, every time I sent this unit for a repair, they send it back to me as it was with no faults detected.

How do I disable all attempts to check fingerprints in Win 7 pro 64bit on a Probook 450g3?

How do I disable all attempts to check fingerprints in Win 7 pro 64bit on a Probook 450g3? I bought this notebook to replace an older probook which was also running windows 7 pro. It is for my 84 year old mom who does NOT deal well with any changes in her computing environment. I don't want the danged Biometric device not found error. I don't want to teach her to replace her password with a fingerprint check. I don't want the bleeping fingerprint device or its related software AT ALL. I just want the bootup sequence to be exactly the same as it was with her old win 7 pro probook laptop.

In this case and her age, new is NOT better. New is just an obstacleto use! Yet the software is still trying to check for and use the bleeping fingerprint reader. How do I kill the damned thing?

Thanks.

HDMI not working on HP Spectre x360 - 13-4120ca

I no longer can extend or duplicate my notebook display to an external monitor using my HDMI connection.

I have updated to the latest drivers, tried different HDMI cables, different external displays and even restored my device to the factory settings, but no luck.

This question has been posed many times by many others on here but I have not find a solution yet that works for me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How do I change Dedicated Video Ram?

0
0

When I look on both the Best Buy site where I bought it and the HP site it says the Dedicated Video Ram can use up to 4gb of ram. I'd like to play some games on my laptop but unless I can change this many games will not run. Here's the part on Best Buy's site: "Intel® HD Graphics 620 On-processor graphics with up to 4182 MB total video memory provide everyday image quality for Internet use, video streaming and casual gaming." and from the HP site @ https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05392761 " Video graphics Intel® HD Graphics 620 (up to 4.07 GB) Integrated " The computer specs says I can change it but there's no option to do this anywhere even in the Bios. The card will only read 128mb and this is unacceptable. So.... How do I change it? (Because HP and BB both say I should be able to!)

Edit: I should add that the 4gb video memory is one of the reasons I bought this laptop. I got it so I could still game and watch videos while working out of town from hotel rooms. I can not play games on it though because all games only read and use 128gb of ram. If they will even install or launch.

My webcam true vision works from desktop and not when camera is clicked on

I had noticed a few days ago that my HP true vision webcam wasn't working, that is when I'd click on the camera button-I'd get an error code message-0xA00F4271(-x80070005) When I'd click on the icon on the desktop it would work.

A few minutes ago, it was working for me.  It's hit and miss.

I did try a few things, like using regedit and making an entry in the regisry, that did nothing.

I have not idea as to why the camera that has worked in the past was not working consistently.

 Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. My LCD just cracked and now I need to replace it but I cannot find any LCD here in my country, kindly help me out as I now have to use it via another Screen connected via HDMI and so can't have mobility.

I have mentioned my model number, if in the worst circumstance I can't find the new LCD do tell me which used laptop can replace the LCD as this is an expensive laptop that I don't want to waste. Will be waiting for your reply. Thank you

Touchpad doesn't work on Windows 10

I got this laptop in 2014 (It had windows 8 or 8.1 on it at the time ofc) Then I upgraded to windows 10 and for about a year it was fine but then it broke for unrelated reasons. Not hardware reasons though. And I forgot about it, then I decided to install Linux mint to it and it worked fine. Then I decide to go back to windows 10 and the touchpad didn't work. So I went to linux again. Repeat x5 and now I'm at #6 and it still doesn't work! And it works on linux perfectly!

hp probook 450 g4 freezes and screen shakes

Several times now when waking my laptop up from sleeping, the video display starts shaking and has several wiggly lines in it.  The cursor and keyboard are unresponsive.  The only thing to do is a hard reset (hold power button down) till the machine shuts off.  It comes back on and no evidence of an issue is seen.  Happened on 3/1/17 and again on 5/6/17.   Here is a link to 2 videos I captured on my phone, one from each instance.  (sorry, my hand was a bit shaky, but the yellow thumbnail image is the best.  The flashing in the video is not a refresh issue with the video capture, it was what I saw on the screen, including the date/time stamp jumping around in the corner.)  First issue, Excel was in the foreground, second issue gmail was in the foreground.

Really unnerving and does not exemplify the quality that I expect in a ProBook.
