Is there any way to invert the scrolling direction for the touchpad? There is supposedly a switch in Settings but it doesn't seem to exist.
i have 2 GB AMD Radeon R5 M330 graphic card (dedicated) in my laptop. but whenever i check it from "screen resolution > advance storage " it says " adapter type: intel HD graphics 520" with 3800 MB shared memory and 128 MB dedicated memory. i think my card is either not working or damaged. i tried installing drivers from AMD but didn't work, i also tried updating the drivers but all went in vain.
P.S. : i bought it just a week ago (box packed)

The combination [fn]+ F5/F6 doesn't work.
I can't increase or decrease the brightness of the screen. Neither other combination works. Only the volume shortcut does.
How do I fix this?

I understand this Notebook is old and beyond end-of-life; but it seems to work, however, NO video output what so ever. It is my humble opinion that it is the onbaord controller as memory, processor, hard-drive, and WiFi all are functionial (tested on scope and within another unit - not a dv7). I am looking for assistance to replace this controller, if possible. My friend is 92 years old and loves to work on this system and does not wish to be part of today's "disposiable society". So, does anyone know of a local shop within the Chicagoland area that can help repair this unit? Or have any ideas?
I have the Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop with a 13.3" (diag.) screen and notice some hairline scratches in the glass screen from normal use in the field using the stylus pen, especially along the bottom where the onscreen handwriter tool populates. The touchscreen display functions fine. Can the actual glass screen cover (over the display) be replaced? Can the glass be ordered through HP? Can places that do smartphone screen repairs replace these glass screen covers, too? I am technically handy so disassembling a laptop is not an issue for me.. I don't know if the glass screen cover and the actual touchscreen are two separate components able to be replaced separately or if they are all 1 component.

I was in the middle of watching a movie and dvd rom stopped reading the dvd. There was no error messages. It will not read anything now.
I have an AMD processor with integrated R5 graphics. This is linked to an AMD R7 M360 card. No matter what settings I use, and even after uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, and even uninstalling windows 10 entirely and then installing drivers, does the R7 card ever get used. No matter what I do the system will not stop using the integrated graphics. Please help, thank you.

I'm planning to buy the hp spectre x360 13-w001no due to a very good sale where I live right now. But I want my laptop to have a pen that I can press to for example bring up OneNote, will this be possible with this laptop? It doesn't have to be a HP official pen.

This computer is an absolute lemon! Windows confims that I have the latest touchpad drivers. However, the touchpad is demonically-possessed. It sends constant mouseclicks so that the cursor jumps all over the place, windows open spontaneously, and it is impossible to use the mouse in anything that begins to resemble a normal manner. If I add an external mouse, it tamps down the ghost in the touchpad somewhat, but unless I figure out how to disable the touchpad entirely, the demon is always lurking.
Advice on this forum from HP reps is useless for my computer. The Synaptics icon does not take me to any settings that might allow me to dial down the sensitivity of the touchpad. Even if such settings existed, a touchpad should not go crazy using factory settings. Unfortunately, all of these symptoms showed up right after the Best Buy return policy ended. Telephone support from HP is characteristically useless.
Any available help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I will spray paint it yellow and mail it to HP's CEO.

I have an Envy17 and yesterday the touchpad suddenly stopped. No warning no nothing. It was working fine and then I closed the laptop for a few (did not shut down all the way) and the next time I opened it (bout an hr later) the pad was dead. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, numerous re-boots and installing computer/windows updates. Still does not work. Have tried to double click the opper corner in case it was accidentally turned off but still nothing. When you go into settings, it says it is working properly. Anything else I can try?

Well, it was bound to happen. After 20 plus years in corporate tech support, unpacking, configuring, and shipping laptops all over the world for the first time I cracked a laptop screen. Unfortunately, this laptop screen was attached to my personal HP Envy Touch Smart 15 Notebook PC.
I have always believed that “stuff happens”. We live by the luck of the draw. When it’s time it is time. You never know. When I picked up my laptop one morning last week on the way to an offsite there was no mistaking that muffled pop of a cracked screen. Stuff happens.
My screen still worked but no longer with touch screen functionality and I immediately jump on the web to determine the cost of and the degree of difficulty to replace the broken screen. In this site and others, I was surprised by the number of Envy owners who’s broken screen story mirrored my own and whose uploaded photos look uncomfortably familiar.
In almost every uploaded image the impact area was nearly identical, roughly 1.5 cm from the top bevel and nearly perfectly in line with the center of the touchpad.
Many generations of the Envy are designed with a Touchpad that sits in a shallow trough. That trough, the width of the Touchpad, extends out and forms a depression along the outer edge of the laptop. When closed, the top or lid, with the fragile display, is supported by the stiffer bottom “half” of the laptop. But a depression on the edge of the keyboard half of the laptop, where the touchpad is located forms a break in the support for the display when the laptop is closed.
When closed the bottom half supports and protects the screen from impact and bending except where that Touchpad trough forms the depression along the front edge of the laptop and where the screen, while in the closed position, must bridge the trough with no support.
So, what happened? How could the simple act of picking up my laptop snap the glass and will cost me, at the very least, the price of a new digitizer glass repair.
It is simply a very poor design.
When I compared the damage to my laptop with other picture posted to this site it was more than a coincidence that the damage on most of the HP Envy was nearly identical. The cracks radiated from a point exactly at the mid-point above the touch pad depression, the point where the base half of the laptop provides the least amount of support and the greatest potential for the lid to flex.
In the picture, the black line “tee” marks “ground zero”, where the visible genesis of the crack starts and it radiates from there. It is the same, or close, in every other picture posted on this site from other sufferers of this design flaw.
Let this be a warning to owners of all these HP laptops…..
…..they share the same flawed design.
Interestingly, HP no longer manufactures a laptop with this failing. The touch pad depression has been eliminated thanks, in part (I am sure) to everyone that has reported this obvious oversight that should have been seen and corrected during the design of these laptops.

in device manger under graphic property i can see AMD graphics card but when i right click on desktop screen and click on graphic property then only intel graphics card property showing show i download AMD grahics card driver from Hp website sp55025 and then try to install then it show this file is harmful and if i installed it then also no radeon property showing in graphics property
