Exessive overheating on a dual fan Pavilion 15-bc017NT Notebook
Hello. I have a 15-bc017nt notebook since 2 months. Recently I have realised my notebook is heting up very quickly to 80 degrees celcius and continues to heat up to 90 degrees celcius. Which was definately not the case when I bought 2 months ago. The highest temp at that time after hours of gaming was aroung 75 degrees. Now it only takes seconds to get pass 75 degrees after starting to use GPU.
Also I realised, although notebook has dual fan setup, from letf side there is no air blown when I place my hand over the back. Right side blows all the time. Speedfan says fan 2 never excees 200rpm whatever happens, even with 90 degrees cpu and gpu temperature it didnt kick in.
HP Support told me to give my notebook to the service center but it may take as long as 1 month and I need to use my computer a lot. So is there anything I can do to fix the issue?
This is a friends computer after the same benchmark ( furmark 1080p no msaa 1 mins )

My notebook after JUST 1 minutes of furmark. Same test as above.
Also FPS is lower than him apart from redicilous temperature. My fps does not increase on last week's nvidia update , and the same on hps nvidia driver.

DVD drive not operating. Error message states no dvd found
I have had the laptop for a year but never used optical drive. Now trying to view a dvd and it won't work. Continuously tells me to insert dvd into drive e:. I have upgraded the media software included but doesn't help.

my hp does not display when booted. the caps lights and wifi blink without stopping
the HP laptop does not display whatsoever when booted. only a caps lock lights blinks and also that of the WiFi. It can be on for days without displaying. But there are times when the laptop displays when booted and can work for several days without showing any malfunction. But as soon as it goes off, booting it to display becomes a problematic.

Screen Orientation
Connected a HP w2207h Video screen to my notebook and tried to switch my display from portrait to landscape mode.
Nothing. Numerious suggestions were CNTL-ALT-Arrow key and Control Panel > Display > Change Display Settings > select Orientation Tab. My display screen in "Change Display Settings" does not reflect a "Orientation Tab". Check all my updates and they are current. Any Suggestions.

touch screen driver issue
Is there anyway to reinstall a touch screen driver? This driver is deleted/uninstalled from my laptop. I have looked up device manager and under HID section and my touch screen driver is not listed. I have tried all the steps I was showed how, and I still can't find the clear answer if there is anyway to reinstall the touch screen driver.

Clickpad keeps disappearing
My clickpad curosr keeps disappearing on me. First it will freeze and then it will be completely gone. Hitting the clickpad, even right click, does nothing. Sometimes this happens 5 mintues after I start up, sometime it takes a couple of hours, it varies. Been going on for about two weeks (I didn't do any kind of upgrade right before that). The rest of the computer still works after, I can use the touch screen. I tried disabling and then enabling the clickpad in the mouse settings but it didn't work. It says the driver is up to date.
Any ideas? Do I need to get the clickpad replaced? Get a mouse?

FN button priority
Good morning
New notebook, new installation, nothing has been added or changed other than MS Office 2013 64bit install.
User is typing in Excel and cannot use the various F1 - F12 buttons. When he depresses them, it brings up the functions that under normal circumstances require a user to press the FN button, bottom left of the keyboard.
My HP Probook 450 works like this, but this HP Probook 250 does not work like this.
I looked at the following link;

But I do not want to disable the FN \ Special keys, I simply want a user to press F1 to F12 while in Windows\Office and make use of the function. Should be want to use a special funtion linked to a Special key, i would like him to depress the FN key.
As mentioned, my Probook 450 works like this, why does the Probook 250 work differently.

No display on Projector when connecting thru HDMI
When connecting my Zbook to a projector using a HDMI Cable the projector does not detect anything and shows "No Signal" . But strangely, it shows that it is connected in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
When I try using VGA Cable it works fine. I used several HDMI cables in good condition, but still no display.

DVD NOT WORKING
DVD player not reconised in divice manager no storage heading in the bios problems after reinstalling windows 10 had to delete partions in disk managment to reistall windows 10 followed instructions of you tube to reinstall windows 10 not sure if this is somethink i have removed from disk managment?

HP Pavilion DVD is not working but CD is working.

how to utilize dedicated graphics memory
Basically, I use two types of programs day to day:
1. dB software (Zoot)
2. Photo software: Lightroom & Photoshop
On this machine there are 2gig dedicated graphics
What I'd like to know is the best way to use it. How can I prevent a program (ex my dB prgram) from using it? How do I instruct my graphics heavy programs to use it? Does it switch in & out when I swtich between programs (Ex Lightroom vs Photoshop0
This is the first system I've owned with dedicated graphics so I'm not sure how to make use of this option.

Whenever a phonce call comes and if the phone is near to screen of the laptop,then screen flickering occurs.

Touch Screen shortcuts
I am trying to find a list of the finger swipe shortcuts for the HP Elite x2 when it is in tablet mode. I have a client who uses an eye gaze system that is mounted on a stand with the keyboard removed. When we have used some of her eye gaze training software-we need way to activate the ESC to exit and without the keyboard attached I have been unable to figure out a way to activate the ESC. Are there any way to set up finger swipe shortcuts for this or add it to the on-screen keyboard. Right now this button is not on my eye screen keyboard. Any help is greatly appreciated!

unstable system on lid close when video output using HDMI
system become unstable when laptop is plug in to HDMI video out with the lid close down.
there will be issues like below:
- windows become so lag it's not responsive, very slow response to mouse lick for example
- even task manager is not working
- bottom right taskbar/notification area will have unstable toggle (expand and shrink continuosly)
issues above not apply when
- laptop is use without HDMI video
- HDMI video out without closing the lid

How to disable touchpad
I finally figured out how to disable my touchpad. I tried everything I've read on these forums, but nothing worked. No matter how many times I double-clicked the little dot on the top-left corner of my touchpad, the light would not come on, and I could not disable the stupid touchpad.
To fix this, I downloaded the newest version of the touchpad driver from HP.com for my laptop. After installing the driver, my computer rebooted, and then I was finally able to double-click the little dot on the top-left corner of my touchpad, and it was disabled!
So now the cursor no longer jumps around all over the page as I am typing (b/c my hand barely touches the touchpad).
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
I hope this helps anyone else going through this struggle. It took me several hours to figure this out today.
