Active pen was working on new purchase then stopped ?

Hi,

I just purchesed and received my Specture X360 13" (touch & active pen).

I put the battery in pen and started to use pen (was working fine right out of box).

However (maybe after sleep mode on pen or pc) the pen does not seem to work now? It did just minutes beforehand and battery is new and inserted correctly.

Touch and laptop work fine, and pen like i said was fine but for some reason doesnt now.

The pen should activate from touch screen (pressing point) but acts like its off? So either the pen is off/inactive or something happend to stop it working all of a sudden. Touch is fine and everything is new.

Any ideas or checks and advice most welcome.

Envy Notebook Goes to sleep no matter what setting I try

Hey, I feel like I have tried every combination of settings I can try and my HP Envy notebook continues to go to sleep after 2 minutes time (Roughly, 8:00 - 8:02) it's aggravating, I have to put on an mp3 and hit mute just to keep the computer from going to sleep.

I think other people have dealt with this and if you know where the working solution is: please post a link. It becomes a search game trying to find credible answers with this, and so far I haven't found the right one.

My computer is plugged in when it happens and the charge works fine.

I just tried Settings/Screen Timeout Settings/ (aka "Power and Sleep") and changed every thing to "4 hours" when plugged in and on battery power / for screen and sleep settings.

I have tried turning on the screensaver function, which works sometimes, and other times not at all. I love the computer but hate this.

The other area is:

Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Power Options

I just looked, and in "Change When the Computer Sleeps" (which is the same as "Choose when to turn off the display") the shortest setting is at 25 minutes, but like I said it shuts off after 2 minutes.

If I click on "Advanced Settings" under sleep it's set at 300 min. and everything else looks like it wouldn't be allowing the 2 min shutoff.

The side link for "Create a power plan" I'm currently on "HP Recommended (recommended)" I think I've tried every combination here too.

Any help would be greatly apprecieated, thank you!

Which HP stylus/pen is compatible with the following laptop: HP Pavilion x360 13-s052sa?

Hi,

We have this laptop: HP Pavilion x360 13-s052sa. It has a touchscreen and we want a stylus/pen.

According to this HP webpage: https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05166879, "HP Active Pen (Synaptics)" is compatible, and "HP Active Stylus (Wacom)" and ""HP Pro Tablet Active Pen (Synaptics)" are not compatible.

However, according to another HP webpage: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c05166879&lc=en&cc=tw&dlc=zh-hant&product=58775, "HP Active Stylus" is compatible, and HP Active Pen" is not compatible.

This is contradictory. Please can someone clarify which is the compatible stylus/pen to use?

HP Omen 17 GPU 1070 fan stuck at 50%

Hi.
I have problem with GPU fan (located on the left side of chassis). When GPU temperature rises above 56 degree celsius, fan starts spin up to 50% (that is probably ok). But when temperature drops under 43 degree celsius, fan tries to stop (I can hear fan decreases RPM for 1 second, but then immediately accelerate to 50%). It's like something blocks fan to stop even if the temperature is very low (sometimes below 38C) or even if I'm in BIOS (so nothing uses GPU). I tried to do a lot of things:
- update BIOS
- update HP Windows 10 Home to genuine MS Windows 10 Pro
- install clear copy of OS without drivers and HP addons
- install latest HP GPU drivers
- uninstall HP drivers and install latest genuine Nvidia drivers
...and nothing helped.

The only way to stop GPU fan is to do power reset (press power button for 15s), but it helps only until the GPU reaches 56C and than everything starts again.

Is seems like it's BIOS bug but I'm not sure. Is there any solution?

Lost touchscreen functionality

The touchscreen functionality has completely disappeared.  This seemed to happen after a Norton patch, although that could be coincidental.  I have tried updating drivers but everything says it is already on the latest.  I cannot see the touchscreen listed anywhere under Human Interface Devices.

Backlight or Inverter Problem.

My laptop screen goes black and does not show me anything. If I flash a flashlight, I could see the screen but very dim.
I connected my notebook to VGA cable for the projector yesterday. The notebook shutdown due to low battery while on the projection mode. Then I recharged the laptop and started but since then I am facing black screen problem. I think this is a backlight or inverter problem. Please help.

Tried but failed:
- Bios recovery (Windows + B before power)
- Graphics driver updates

How long does it take to replace a display on Spectre 360?

Hello support team,

My laptop with a broken screen was delivered to a place in Markham, Ontario on March 27. They are authorized to do the repair. The original time of completing the work was 7 business days. Then, the date of delivery was changed to April 20 and now to May 5. What caused this delay twice? Are they bound by any deadline? For example, there can be a rule that they should stop trying after a certain time and return the computer back to the user with some compensation.

The computer was sent through HP, of course.

Hi,

I am looking to find an active stylus that will be compatable with my hp pavilion x360 13-a068ca laptop.

I am running windows 10 and I have a window in settings for configureing my pen and windows ink.

When I look at the information page for my computer it also lists 10 point touch and stylus.

I haven't been able to find any information on what would be compatable and I don't want to just start buying them and trying them out.

Thanks

Dan

Intel RealSense Webcam SR300 disabled on HP ENVY Notebook after Windows 10 Update

$

Hello,

I belong to the Windows Insider Program, receive Preview Builds, and want to report that the internal Intel webcam  RealSense Camera SR300 stopped working on my HP ENVY Notebook, Product number V5E32AV, running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit , Version 1703 (OS Build 15063.14).

ScreenHunter_37 Apr. 06 02.19.jpg

The webcam had worked perfectly for about a year until the Windows update installed on 4/4/2017 "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4016251)" or possibly "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4016250)" installed on 4/1/2017. I'd really appreciate any help or advice.

There have been other laptop users who have reported this same issue on the Intel technical support site.

My webcam is not recognized by Windows Hello. I have to logon with my PIN, Password, or Photo Password. There is no longer a Windows Hello option shown.

Also I cannot open the webcam by clicking on Camera from the Start menu, or use it on Skype or in 2-way video conferencing or interactive Webinars.

I am not completely sure that the Windows Inside Build update caused this problem because there were a number of other Windows 10 updates about the same time that the internal webcam stopped working, as shown in the following list of my recent Windows updates and other updated files installed from Intel:

ScreenHunter_37 Apr. 06 02.00.jpg

So far, I have manually downloaded from Intel the following file: intel_rs_dcm_sr300_3.3.27.5718.exe. I tried to run this file but it encountered an error. Next, I downloaded this file: sp75602.exe from the HP website. Intel RealSense Depth Camera Manager. It ran to completion and indicated that it had installed all drivers for Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 Depth. However the webcam still does not function, and it also seems that I am missing a third item in the Device Manager, the Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 Virtual Driver.

I have also tried deleting these two drivers and the device itself and then rebooting, with the intention that the webcam would be reinstalled automatically along with all of the necessary drivers.

My past experience, and those of others, has shown that when Windows 10 updates, it sometimes "loses" or fails to recognize or properly associate and link to already installed drivers. This happened previously with my iPod Touch in which iTunes would no longer recognize that it was connected to my HP laptop USB port. The simple work-around was to uninstall the drivers, disconnect my iPod, reboot, and then reconnect my iPod to an external USB port.

However, the webcam is an internal device, and I don't know how to go about physicallly disconnecting it, rebooting, and then re-connecting it again.

Device Manager shows that I currently have the driver for the Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 Depth, and the driver for the Intel(R) RealSense(TM) Camera SR300 RGB, 2 of 3 needed drivers.

Here is a view of my Device Manager:

ScreenHunter_37 Apr. 06 01.49.jpg

Another possibly related issue is this esrv.exe application error message that I now receive after rebooting and arriving at Desktop:

ScreenHunter_37 Apr. 06 01.40.jpg

Finally, here's a copy of my Device Manager Events Log:

I just wanted to present specifics about my incident to determine # 1, If others have reported here?, # 2, If this error message is caused by the missing drivers?, # 3, If there is any action that I can take myself to resolve this issue?, and #4, How can I get this issue resolved?

I have contacted, Microsoft, Intel, called HP Support under my current 2-year HP CARE PACK SERVICE AGREEMENT which includes telephone and on-site repairs and support at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE, wrote an email to HP CEO Dion Weisler when I was told by HP Support that I would have to pay for a better trained HP Level II technician to help me, and also tried to research and repair this issue myself. I have been connected to the Internet since 1983, have been using home PC's since 1985, and am somewhat of an advanced user, but there's always something new to learn that I can't figure out myself.

Please advise. Any suggestions or ideas would be very much appreciated. It is unlikely that I'm the only HP laptop user with built-in Intel RealSense Camera experiencing this issue. I would especially appreciate it if an HP Senior Technician could respond.

Thanks for any replies or comments.

Cheers,

Joel
