Hello everyone. 

 

First, the specs:

HP Envy 17

HP 3005pr Port Replicator

Windows 10 64b

 

I just installed my new PR.  At first, everything went smoothly and, so far, everyting works fine except 1 thing. 

 

I have a monitor tat only has VGA and DVDi connctors.  Before the PR I had this connected directly to my Envy using a VGA-HDMI converter pigtail cable.  It works great.

 

I connect it to the PR and it works fine...at first.  THen very soon thereafter, the screen flickers like the power to it is cycling on and off, then it just looses the image complete and the monitor goea in and out of sleep mode.

 

Any suggestions?  Other than a new monitor?  Right now I have it plugged in to my ENvy's HDMI as before and it is working fine.  I can leave it that way, but that's ont exactly what I bought the PR for and it makes me skiddish about whether or not another monitor hanging off it will work.

I recently purchased the HP Spectre 360 and I am having the same problem as manoj12001. Most of my emails display in the center of the screen in a narrow strip with text that is so tiny it is barley visable. I also cannot conduct web meetings via WebEx because my screen will be completly blank with the prompts in tiny boxes on the screen. I had to quickley abandon my computer and log in on another device in order to preform my meeting. In addition, my screen is typically at 100% zoom on the internet, but on this computer has to be at 250% to display in a normally 100% view. Something is teribby wrong and our company I.T. person cannot even fix it. I am searching solutions right now online but my next step is to take the computer back to the store where I purchased it. Please help. I love this computer but cannot work with this issue.

Hi there,

 

It might sound a bit lame question, but yeah..

I recently bought HP Spectre x360 15t..

I love the default wallpaper of Spectre x360 as advertise..

 

However, I cant find it in the windows. IS there anyway, I can get this wallpaper on my Spectre x360 (4K screen) too?

 

I'd appreciate your help.

Hi Im trying to connect my HP dv6 to my TV via HDMI cable - however it wont pick up 2 screens (DETECT or IDENTIFY) .

I was running Vista which was pre-installed on system when bought however the computer crashed and had to reinstall windows so am now running Windows 8.1.

Someone mentioned it may need to update the video drivers or open the hdmi port??

model # dv6 - 1244TX

For you guys who have the sampe problem with me

I have the solution to you and i dont know if this gonna work for you

Soon after i solved this problem on my laptop

i register my account to share you guys in case you guys have same problem with your touchscreen

Same with when you dont have  touch and pen drives in HID

 even i have searched in hp support but i did'nt get............

 

Here's what i done to fix it

 

1. Press Windows + Q 
2. Type Device Manager
3. Go to Mice  and other pointing device not Human Interface Devices
4. Right click The touchscreen word ( i forgot what was written there and i just remember there is touchscreen there NOT TOUCH PAD)
5. Then Click Properties
6. Go to Driver
7. Choose Rool Back Driver
8. Done

Thats what i do

 I have seen in the in the Hp website that 4k display is available in the Spectre 13 360x, i am interested to buy it but i have searched the shop again and again the the Spectre 13 360x is not available with 4k display. Can someone help me find it?

Laptop:  Elitebook 840 G2

Docking station:  Ultraslim  D9Y32AA

OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)

New Monitor: BenQ BL2711U (Res: 3840x2160 at 60Hz)

Old Monitor:  Samsung Syncmaster 2220WM  (Res: 1920 x 1200)

 

Problem: 

1. When new BenQ monitor is connected to either DisplayPort on the Docking Station -

      there is NO SIGNAL to the monitor

           1a.   VGA cable can then be connected to docking station and it works fine with old monitor.

 

2. When BenQ monitor is  connecteed directly to laptop's DisplayPort - monitor works perfectly.

         2a.   When laptop is merely docked (even though Monitor stays conn. directly to laptop)

                  SIGNAL LOST   (puzzling)

         2b.   When VGA cable is connected to laptop (directly),  it works with old monitor -  

                   but SIGNAL IS LOST to BenQ  connected via laptop's DisplayPort connection  (puzzling)

 

 

Attempted solutions with BenQ Tech support - multiple reboots with connecting, disconnecting cable, etc. - problem persisted.  Tech says he's heard of docking station "issues" suggested a "power issue" with docking station. 

 

Attempted solutions undertaken with HP technician:

Updated the following drivers/firmware

   Driver - Chipset (2)

   Driver - Graphics (2) 

   BIOS   - to version 01.18 Rev.A (18 Oct 2016)

   Fiirmware:  HP Ultraslim Docking Station DisplayPort (DP) Hub Firmware   version 2.30.0000

 

After all the driver/BIOS installs, reboots, etc.  PROBLEM PERSISTS exactly as above

 

So I know that Monitor and DP cable (at both ends) are  OK.  There is no software that comes with the monitor that could 'change' something (as HP tech suggested).

 

I see reports on this forum of similar (though not identical) problems, but no solutions.

 

Can this be an inherent problem with the docking station or laptop?  Is there a reason to suspect that something is defective in either the docking station or laptop?

 

I can live with the inability to have both the BenQ monitor and the old monitor (VGA) working simultaneously.

 

But I don't like the need to constantly dock and undock/move  the laptop depending on which monitor I want to use.

As a bad experience i was very upset after downloading world of warships for a day of 16gb. i found this game not working on my pc due to low graphics memory. I there any way so that i can play this game on my low specs pc. please help.

Screen backlights but nothing else. Repaired on warrenty once with repair cable plugged back in. Pulled apart and reseated cable. No joy. Hard reset with no joy. Should I pull screen out of bezel and reseat or is it something else. Noted Walmart selling refurbished for $420. Sounds like there must be an easy fix. Help load d turbo tax just before it died and taxes are not done. Desperate Al

 I bought an hp pavilion au003tx laptop in august 2016. After few weeks from purchase my laptop screen flickers.

All the drivers in my laptop is updated and the laptop blinks even in bios mode.So what should I do???

Hi, so I updated my BIOS on my Hp ProBook 440 G3 computer and now I get a 4 Blink LED. I took it to a repairman near me and I described my problem, and he said it was a bad virus? If it's a "bad virus" can I just put a new hard drive in?

Hi.

I've got two problems with my HP and they can have a common cause so I describe both:

 

First and less problem is stylus that came with the laptop. It works intermittently: always draws dashed lines, even with continuous input, as on picture below:

This problem persists in both windows and linux.

 

Second problem is flickering horizontal lines (as on picture below) which almost always come when booting linux (after the moment when screen tuns off for a moment). 

The only way I found to make them dissapear is to suspend pc -- they vanish after suspend and I can work.

They also appear at the beginning (also after screen turning off)  of disabling/rebooting pc. If this is rebooting they remains after it regardless of that operating system loads (even in bios).   

As long as I remember these lines appears a couple of times in windows after enabling (not rebooting) but this happens very rarely.

Installation of drivers provided by Intel for my graphics (hd 515), did not affect the problem in any way. So I will be happy with any hint on any of the problems.

DVDs weren't playing so I uninstalled Cyberlink PowerDVD and now cannot find it to reinstall on my HP ENVY. Now, of course, my computer's DVD player won't do anything. Where can I find Power DVD to reinstall? Thanks to anyone who can help!

I just bought the stylus active pen "Hewlett Packard HP Active Pen, (J4R51AA#ABL)" because it says that work with the spectre x360 but is not.
