I've had this laptop (HP Envy Notebook 15-q473cl) 2 months and its clickpad/mouse has begun to randomly click. It doesn't matter what I'm doing (scrolling, sitting back and watching a video, etc), the computer will suddenly start to click a bunch of times. It will keep clicking until I put the computer to sleep (or restart it), which fixes it every time. However, the random clicking has become more frequent and worrisome.

It was randomly click with or without my wireless mouse plugged in.

I have gone into the settings and increased the Smart Sense setting 2 notches closer to 'max' which did not solve my problem.

 

I really like this laptop, but the frequency of random clicking is getting too frustrating. Let me know what else I can do.

Hi,

 

I tried to install the sypnaptic touchpad driver but failed and it showed the message below . I have tried both the driver downloaded from the hp website and sypnaptic website and they both failed.

 

 

I did find a forum saying that it could be trustedinstaller.exe that is missing so I tried looking into that but the  programme is still there.

 

I've been using my touchpad regularly recently so it could be of great help if there's a way to solve this.

I recently got a hp omen at first it all worked fine until i decided to install the latest nvidia drivers for the system, this resulted in a blue screen with a error message i cant quite remember, all i remember is that it started with nvida_. 

ive tried a few things like updating the bios and updating intel drivers from the hp website but no luck it also doesnt show in the device manager either plugged in or not.

i have also done a full reset to factory defults though the hp support assistant

it also wont let me install the required nvida drivers either it says hardware not found, this only happened after the blue screen crash

Good day!

 

I have concern regard with the HP touchsmart 600 1000 touch sceen. The touch screen isn't working already, I wanted to replace the LCD screen of it. The question is, is it still possible to find some parts of this product? Is was release last 2010, so it is kinda old already. But I am hoping I can find one. My customers unit badly need it.

Since upgrading from windows 7/64 pro to windows 10/64 pro I can not get the second display to work.  AllI get is

 Hello,

 

I'd like to ask about why HP lied us and sold me an RGBW Fake UHD laptop. Model 15-bc000nx.

It's been months now, and I've just learned about how HP and LG have lied to the market.

 

All Pavillion / Envy / Omen 15'' UHD notebooks are allegedly fake UHD.

 

I'm living in Saudi Arabia in a position which has close ties with mainstream media channels, and I will make sure this case will pop on the newspapers. Media will love to dig more over how popular & trusted(!) brands cheating their customers.

 

RGB = Red Green Blue

RGBW = + White

 

In these panels, there is an included White sub-pixel that technically increases the number of sub-pixels & creating a non-colored fake density; which they sell us as UHD, 4K.

 

In reality, those pixels are white-only. Therefore they are reducing the cost up to 30-40% of an UHD display panel and we lost massive image quality degradation. See the following images.

My HP Elitebook 8570w has had the same issue since I bought it in 2015.

 

I leave my laptop running all day during working hours. Sometimes I leave for a short period of time and when I return (usually after 10 - 20 minutes) I should be able to just continu working.

Most of the time, it works perfectly: I move the mouse, the screen turns back on, I login and continu working. Other times (it seems really at random) I cannot get the screen to turn back on and the fans are running at full speed. The only solution is to turn off the power by holding the power button for a couple of seconds and rebooting the system.

 

I have searched and found multiple people with similar problems, but not the exact same issue. Can anybody assist me to find the source of the trouble and fix it?

So nice brand new computer, no other issues but seems to have problems playing DVD's either they are really choppy pausing every couple of seconds or had it even just eject a DVD for no reason. 

 

been using Windows media player and have updated the drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and this doesn't seem to have had any affect, also have tried using it plugged in as well but that hasn't made a difference. 

 

so a little lost on where to proceed from here.

after I watched movie and shudown my laptop, after an hour I open again, why the brightness is not working even I used the control fuction key.

My screen on my HTC has suddenly cracked over night and not just a little crack a massive crack in the middle of the screen without me having ever dropped it and I have always been careful with my laptop. I am pretty annoyed and angry to say the least as I payed a lot for this laptop. Also no other laptop repairs will fix it for me as it is too delicate and the touch screen is an issue. Clealry there is a problem with this laptop as there is so many other complaints about random laptop cracks from other spectre owners on this forum. What do you expect I do to fix this and shouldn't we get some sort of compensation???

the left click on the synaptic touchpad is not working.  I can move the pointer with touchpad, but when I press the left  click button, nothing happen. I  try upgrading the synaptic tocuhpad driver and still the left click does not work. I reinstall the old version and I still have teh same issue. When I use an external pointer device the left click on teh external device work fine.

 

Does anyone out there have answer to to this issue?

Hi, i need MAJOR advice.  something has happened to the screen on my laptop.  we were in one class room and has to move and i did not have the blue lines before the move.  once we got to the other class room i thought my web browser was being stupid but once i closed it out and they stayed i was very concerned.  i decided to reboot my laptop and they were there while the laptop was booting.  i really dont want to have to purchase a new panel for my laptop because i am saving my money for other things in life.   can i get the part number for the panel if i need to purchase a new one?

I have an x2 210 with intel Graphics Card.

 

I want to update the Graphic drivers since they are from August 2015 and Intel has much newer ones.

 

However, I cannot update them via Intel, I ned to do this via HP.

 

Unfortunately, for the x2 210 G1 there is no graphics driver available on the HP website.

 

How can I upgrade it?

did anyone elese screen crack for no apparent reason. the screen failed and glass cracked. Does hp stand behind any defects? i have barely used this computer and the thing is a piece of garbage that i paid $1100 for. since the day i got it the bluetooth never worked and the wifi always droppped. Now the wifi does not work at all

I have bubbles that rise vertically from the bottom of the right side of the touch screen and makes the computer Impossible to work on. I bought this new computer 2 months ago in Portugal and sudnely I can' do I a thing! I'm farway in africa trying to do my work and I need urgente help.

I have this very old HP Elitebook 8460p that runs on Windows 7 and Intel inside core i7 vPro. The brightness keys (f9 and f10) dont work when I press fn+f9 or fn+f10. The brightness is really high and I have gone into the Windows Control Panel and the Windows Mobility Center but neither have helped change the brightness.  The fn keyworks as I can still change the sound via the desktop. Any soloution to this is greatly appreciated and hopefully they sove this issue I'm having.
