Hi all!

I bought my HP pavilion 15 more or less 10 days ago, it arrives 3 days ago and since then when I connect my laptop to the power outlet strange black lines appears on the display from the 15% to the 70% more or less. At first I thought it was a driver problem but I updated everything on my laptop one by one being careful not to leave anything out. But the problem is still there...and I'm despered. Do you have any advice for me? Or is a hardware problem and i have to contact the HP support? Everything is important even control some kind of detail.

Hi, I'll try and keep a long story short. Had a problem with the above laptop. It would not load 8.1 windows updates. I tried all I know to get it to work then gave up and installed win 10. Apart from space problems, the notebook only has 30 Gb of eMMC storage and only 2 Gb ram, both, as far as I know, not upgradeable by normal means (I think they are soldered to the mother board). It was only on trying to use the laptop without a mouse that I discovered the touchpad was not working. On investigation it appears that its a known fault with this notebook and win 10. It seemed I only had to install a new version of the touchpad software (from HP or Synaptics) and all would be ok. I downloaded the software and tried to install only to be told that a previous version was still on the machine and needed to be uninstalled. I uninstalled the previous version using iobit uninstaller. I tried again only to be told the same thing, I tried different versions of the software from different sites to no avail. I have checked for elements of synaptics in all folders and found nothing. I eventually tried putting an older version of the software for win 8.1 which seemed to work but I still got the message about a previous version of the software being on the machine and it probably would not work. All of the info I can find on the net always starts with 'Uninstall the old software' I do not have any software on the machine to uninstall. Even though the version for 8.1 says its installed and ready for use its not actually on the machine. I've unhidden all files and folders so I could search for any instances but there are non to find. Any help on this exasperating issue will be gratefully received. After removing the windows.old from the machine I have about 8 Gb of free space..

HI,

 

i need someones help please, my screen rotation was working in tent mode and tablet mode etc up until a week or to ago, my laptop is only two months old and ive literally only used it a handful of times.

 

it now wont rotate when i go into these modes.

 

the icon on the utility tray is locked out and grey so cant be selected.

 

i cannot select auto rotate in disply like has been mentioned.

 

ive tried trning the display to portrait and then selecting it but it just stays greyed out all the time.

 

ive tried auto rotate in the regedit settings to what people say online and no changes.

 

any help please before i take this laptop back and get a refund and stuff like this shouldnt be happening after a very short purchase time.

 

ive made sure the newest display and graphics drivers are installed

 

my model number is hp envy x360 convertible,  model is 15-ar052sa

Hi,

I have a HP  13-u104nl with Intel 7200u inside. I watched many videos online in order to see the performance of the integrated GPU.

As soon as I bought the PC I tried to test the GPU but the results are worse than what I expected. 

 

I don't know if this is a driver problem or a bios limit but for example you can see people playing new games while I can't.

I just bought this computer and have previously been using a toshiba touchscreen also with Windows 10.  My quickbooks program and now several others like printmaster have all their menu screens so small I can't read them.  If I enlarge the screen text or lower the resolution it does not fix the issues.  I also can't make these menu boxes larger in any way, they simply stay small and compress all text within them to fit.  One person said it was an issue between QB and Windows 10 however it messes up several different programs and my QB worked fine with Windows 10 on the last laptop?  Any suggestions?

Please, if here is an owner of a ZB00k with nVidia Graphics, answer me this Question:

 

If you set in BIOS this Option: "Hybrid graphics enabled", is your nVidia Card still visible in device manager?

 

I have a lot of trouble since my ZBook has BIOS-Version 1.36, so this answer is very important for me.

I am having an issue with the delete key deleting all of the content I have written.  When the delete key is pressed once, it deletes the character behind the cursor and then continutes to delete the all of the remaining text behind the cursor, essentially creating a continuous delete. It is not just deleting the one character as would be expected. 

 

I have tried removing/replacing the keyboard drivers with no success.

 

I have updated the keyboard settings to the slowest repeat rate and longest repeat delay, with no success.

 

Sticky Keys and Filter Keys are turned off.

Hello

I am trying to connect my laptop to my desktop monitor screen so I can work from 2 displays, operating from my laptop. I have connected VGA cable but the extended screen is not detected when I navigate to Display (control panel) Only screen 1.

I have tested the same VGA cable direct from the monitor screen to my desktop computer and it works fine. I also purchased a brand new VGA cable and tested this laptop to monitor screen and no joy.

 

Do I need to use a DisplayPort to VGA Adapter? I have one DisplayPort 1.1a and one VGA port on laptop. The monitor screen only has power and VGA.

Greetings!  So sad, after only a few months I already have screen burn in from the home screen on my Elite x3.  I'm using the defaults for screen saver and sleep, so I can't believe this is normal behavior.  Anyone else seeing this?  Would this be convered under warrantee?

 

Also, the "durable" Gorilla Glass can and does scratch, I have proof.  :-(

My Pavilion g7 shutdown normally a few nights ago but the next day when it was powered up the screen was totally black.  The only lights are the power button and the wireless indicator (orange). There have been no recent error messaes or changes to software or drivers.  The original operating system was Windows 7 but it was updated to Windows 10 Home in mid 2016.

 

My questions are:  (1) Is this a situation where a hard reset might solve the problem?

 

(2) If so, will the operating system after the reset be Windows 7 or Windows 10?

I was trying to update my display drivers, but then I must have clicked something wrong, because Windows made a noise(disconnection), and now my display won't do anything. Keep in mind that this is a laptop, and everything else is working (sound, keyboard, trackpad,etc).

I'm not able to open it, and although I have an extra monitor, I can't seem to find a VGA cable to connect it to my laptop.

Computer boots up but screen is very dim. Got new inverter and still doesn't work. Already tried brightness key, draining static electricity, switching RAM cards, removing battery. Please help

When I try to connect a  VGA ADAPTER to the HDMI, the projected picture is a picture of my  desktop, even when I have a Powerpoint running on my Chromebook.  This ha happened with 2 different adapters, so the problem must be with the HDMI drive

I bought the HP Notebook model number 17-x116dx last Wednesday at Best Buy. I do love the laptop but the colors seem very washed out. I'm at the point of getting ready to just return it and get something else. I was expecting vibrant colors straight out of the box. I've ttied adjusting the contrast to no avail. I don't know what else I can do. Can anyone help me?

Hello,

 

I have restored my computer a while ago and reinstalled all of the drivers for it but I have come across the problem of not being able to adjust the brightness. There's not even an option to adjust the brightness in the control panel. I have attempted to uninstall the standard VGA graphics adapter and reinstalling the AMD High definition graphics driver but every time I do that the graphics driver fails. I don't know how else to fix the problem.

A day or so ago my laptop display is very dim after opening the lid.....you can just faintly see the sign in box.  If I unplug the power cord the display brightness becomes normal and stays that way if I replug the power cord.  It is only dim after I open the lid.  Any suggestions?  THANKS!!!
