I have an HP c2k73ua#aba and the touch screen just stopped working. It does not show up in device manager unless I look for hidden devices. Also in the USB there is an error (unknownUBS device device discriptor reqquest failed) I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.

Specter 360 touch pad will not work
My touch pad on my Specter 360 does not respond and the mouse does not show up on my screen.

Envy touch screen stopped working
Last week (after a Windows update?) my Envy touch screen stopped working.
I've read the instructions to uninstall / reinstall the drivers; however, in my list of "Human Interface Drivers" there are no drivers related to the touch screen (the only two are HID-compliant wireless radio and wireless button driver, nothing else).
So my question - where do I go to FIND and INSTALL the correct driver for the touch screen? I assume that the missing drivers are the problem. Searching for my laptop model and going to the available drivers, there is nothing there for a touch screen (?).
I also tried to perform the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics tests to detect problems with the touch screen hardware -- looking under "Component Tests" there isn't even an entry for "Touch Screen".
Help! I love having a touch screen and since it stopped working, I am no longer using my personal laptop.

I have a ho pavilion x360 not quite a year old. On startup everything runs but the screen is black
On startup the screen remains black but caps key blinks 3 slow and 5 fast. If it goes to sleep or shut off the screen stays black on startup but everything runs. I seen many others with the same problem. If I restart over and over sometimes hundreds of times over days it will come on . The last time it didn't trying 3 days now. This is wrong of HP if it's a problem there should of been a recall or a repair granted. PLEASE HELP!!!! I have always bought HP for the past 40 years . I am about to switch to dell and recommend them to all my business clients. God Bless!!

HP 15-1233wm has horizontal colored lines on screen but not on external monitor
When the system is turned on the screen is normal for about 10-15 seconds then the horazontal colored lines slowly take over the screen until it is just a blur after about 60-90 seconds. I can use the HDMI output to view on my tv with no issues it is only on the laptop screen itself.
I am capable of canging a screen if this is the issue but how can I detrmine that is the exact issue and ther is not something else wrong?
This is my girl friends computer and I was informed that a can of soda punctured in the same bag as the computer so it did get a small amount of mosture on it. I do not know how much and everything else is working just fine on it.

Case coming apart
My issue is not listed under any board......
My computer is about 3 years old and about 3 months ago, the bottom part of the case started separating in the upper left corner. If I go to close the lid, the gap gets quite a bit larger. Otherwise with the lid open, the gap is about 1/4". Once in a while I will get a warning about the fan overheating, but then it quickly goes away. I am afraid to close it anymore. The hinge part sits lower on the left side than the other. Is this a know issue?

Trying to connect HP Spectre HDMI output to HP 2210mp projector (VGA input)
I used a convertor cable to connect my HP Spectre laptop to a HP 2210mp projector. The laptop recognized the projector, but the projector didn't display any picture, but gave me an error stating that it couldn't display the picture (or something similar). I tried adjusting the resolution from low (800x600) step my step all the way to the maximum, but still no picture. I can get a picture if I connect the laptop using the same cable to a VGA monitor, but not the projector. Any suggestions on how to get it to work? My bulb then burnt out, so I want to ensure I can get it working before I invest all the $$$ into a new bulb.

Screen flickers on and off
I got this laptop for christmas, so it is barely a month old. When I play games on it, the screen will flicker on and off, sometimes only a few times an hour, sometimes a dozen times in under a minute, and sometimes it will shut off the display altogether, and I have to put the laptop into sleep and back out to get the display back.
I have been through almost every "fix" I could find on the internet. All my drivers are up to date, and it shouldn't be a heat issue because I have it on a cooling pad at all times, and the fan barely has to blow above it's resting state. These are not graphics-intensive games so I don't see how it could be a heating issue. The laptop barely gets warm.
It also happens when I plug it in to an external display with an hdmi-to-VGA converter, but does not seem to do it when it is plugged into an hdmi external display.
I'm really at my wit's end here. It makes my games practically unplayable. Any help would be much appreciated.

numbers keyboard in tablet mode
When in tablet mode each time I enter a number, the number is entered onscreen (good) but the keyboard goes back to qwerty letter only (bad). I will be entering a bunch of numbers and can't keep having to select the numbers key. Suggestions on how I can make the numbers stay?

Black screen on HP Stream 11
my hp stream 11 screen went black. I put it to charge at night before bed. when I woke up I pressed the power button and the lights turned on but the screen remained black. Can someone please help me!

Where is the TouchSmart Screen Digitizer Board located in my PC?
I would like to eliminate my HP Envy-23 d044 Touchsmart capability, I know how to disable it in Device Manager, but i would prefer something more permanent.
My first question: is it possible to disconnect one of the TouchScreens, Digitizer Board ribbion cables, and still have LCD video function?
My second question is: if so, where is the Board located in the PC housing?

New HP Notebook - 15-ay102na browser screens very faint
I have a brand new HP Notebook - 15-ay102na and the browser screens are very bright with faint graphics. The Graphics settings appear to be the same as on my previous laptop where I did not have this problem. It is the same whether I use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. I have also tried adjusting the display settings via the Control Panel.
Is this a fault of my particular laptop or just a general Windows 10 characteristic?
How can I resolve this please?

Google bar at the top of my screen its always there on top of every page
Hi i want to get rid of this google task bar thats at the top of my screen its fustrating me and its in the way of my apps it has a facebook, youtube, games icon on the right corner of it and i cant find a way to get rid of it and im not fermiliar to this laptop as it was brought as a gift for me its a hp windows 10 purple laptop and i cant find it anywhere in my settings to delete it so please can you help me

Screen resolution
My question relates to the image resolution:-
The screen of this laptop is 'full HD 1080p' which could be called 1K
The graphics card is capable of 4K
Obviously, when I am viewing an image that originates in 4K, I can only view it in 1K. The computer must downsize the resolution from 4K to 1K.
Question 1:-
Does the HDMI output give out a 4K signal?
Question 2:-
If I electronically zoom in to a quarter of the 4K image, does the 17" screen show the image as a 1/4 of 4K (i.e.1K) or as a 1/4 of the 1K image i.e. 960 X 540 pixels.

how can i change the Graphics device in this 2570p Elitbook BIOS?
Hello, I added an external graphics card to my laptop using an external power supply. when i start pc the videocard and power supply turn on also. But in the device manegar I can only see the basic Intel Graphics under the subject "Display Adapters". so i guess i need to somehow switch the graphics card in the BIOS system. but all info on the internet is about the normal BIOS that i used to, but in this laptop it has this HP Bios that is very modern next to the basic one that i know (with the blue screen and gray letters) theres suppose to be an option to put Graphics device on "fixed" or something like that.. How can i do it in my bios system? theres no graphics option for that. I want my laptop to understand that a gpu is inside him and use it..

HP Probook/docking station and Acer monitor issues.
I am using a company issued HP Probook with an HP Docking station and HDMI cords hooked to two ACER LCD Screens. I have the exact same set up at my office and at home with all the same equipment. I often leave work and get home and connect my notebook to the docking station only to have an issue with the monitors coming on. (I shut my computer down before i leave the office) What happens is they turn on.. the windows logo comes up on both screens as if its goning to load and turn on but then they go back to sleep and wont turn on again. I have found a fix to this but i have to do it every time i switch between my work set up and home set up.. I have to force shut the computer down while connected to the docking station and then turn it back on and they turn on just fine. I have to do this every time I switch between the two workstations so i often just refuse to log in from home because its a hassle.
What i would love to do.. and what my coworkers seem to be able to do is just lock the computer, go home and dock the notebook and the monitors come on automatically.
Any help or ideas on what to try is appreciated!

4k monitor on hp envy 17-N178CA hdmi 30hz
Hello,
Ik have recently bought a 4K monitor. When I connect the monitor to my hp envy 17-N178CA via HDMI it will only do a 30Hz refresh rate max. If I understood right, HDMI 2.0 can support 4k at 60Hz.
Does anyone know what could be a solution?

Performance whilst on battery
I reciently bought a HP Omen 15-ax009na (i5 7300HQ, 8Gb RAM, SSD, HDD, 1050GTX 2gb) which im overall quite happy with, but there is one issue that i've noticed which does tend to get me quite annoyed from time to time.
While labelled as a gaming laptop, one would assume that it is capable of playing games on the move (on the train, out and about whilst using the built in battery) but the problem i am having is when im on the battery, the performance of the laptop is significantly lower than when on the AC power.
For an example: playing war thunder, on AC power the laptop really shows what its made of and doesnt struggle at all (60fps+)
Whilst on battery however, the framerate inconsistently goes from 60+ to suddenly dropping to low/mid 20 fps for roughly 1 - 4 seconds.
At first i thought it was some sort of thermal throttling, but i used HWmonitor and MSI Afterburner to monitor peak temperatures. The gpu doesnt go above 55c on battery (whereas i have seen it go above 65 on AC while maintaining strong performance) and cpu does not go above 70c, these are temperatures that are often exceeded while on AC but the performance does not drop at all.
Is it the battery that is incapible of the output required for the components? If so, why on earth supply it with such a battery?
I have tried many different things to solve this:
- Changing the power plan within windows 10 to high performance mode (also changing minimum proccessor state to 100% just incase)
- Updating and checking Nvidia control panel for any sort of power save options (setting to Prefer maximum performance doesnt help this issue)
- updating/checking bios for any sort of power save options (none that i can see, and updating did not help)

- Turning off HP Coolsense (no effect)
As its a new laptop i dont think recalibrating the battery is really necissary, but please correct me if i am wrong.
i hope someone can give me a hand with this issue because it is one of the very few problems i have ever had with this laptop!
EDIT: I have noticed that if i use an application such as MSI Afterburner to UNDERclock the gpu rather significantly (400mhz) the random fps dips decrease to an almost non exsistant state, but ofocurse the gpu isnt running at its peak.(i still dont believe it is thermal throttling as the gpu is actually hotter than the temps stated above, which are pre underclocked... the room is just rather warm tonight!)
