Right now I have my father's notebook, its a Compaq Presario CQ62 as stated in the title. I am having a black screen issue with it. I got it up and running yesterday, no problems at all. Updated windows, ran ccleaner and used avg to scan for viruses. Turned it off for the night and went to turn it on and getting a black screen. The computer is running, there is just a black screen. He gave me the computer to look at because of this black screen and him not thinking it was turning on. When I had it up and going yesterday, it was running fine and had no issues aside from the fact that when I tried to turn on it on today, I am just getting a black screen.

Hp Pavilion DV6-6001eo Performance drop.
Hello, I am running Win 7 proffesional 64 bit.
I noticed awhile back, that my computer runs games very slow. extremely slow.
Games it ran with great fps before, now lag and are unplayable.
My perfomance has dropped substantially.
I have tried updating drivers for the graphic card. when that didn't work I restored the drivers to an earlier version. that didn't work either.
Something has happened that made the performance drop.
I need help! I'm considering reformatting, but then it will take forever to reinstall all my stuff!
The only other thing of note, is that I replaced the thermal unit, but that was before the problem arose. and has no relevance dare I say.
This computer istwo years old. but this is a problem that I need help with.

Presario CQ62 Notebook PC display isn't working properly
My Laptop's display is messed up, I went to go player a full-screen game when it locked while it was loading I hit the windows key to pop up the start menu so I could terminate the game but when this happened my screen shrunk badly and was a small square everything else was black, I increased my resolution but it still has the black around the whole screen, I tried restarting didn't work. I also got a error message when I quit the game it had foreign lettering but I could make out two letters which were IP.
I also tried the resolution connecting a projecter when I did this it filled the screen however I wasn't running in that setting before.

ati mobility radeon hd 5470 not working ( black screen )
I have ( HP G62 notebook PC a43ee ) with ati mobility hd 5470 switchable ( windows 7 ultimate 64 bit )
Every thing was work perfectly suddenly my screen going to black , I reinstall windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and i install all drivers but when i install ati graphic card hd 5470 and my screen going to black and i reinstall windows 7 again and made update and install all drivers and in final install ati graphic card driver and my screen going to black again.
so i want to know is there is any fix for that problem or is that mean there is problem in my ati graphic card.

Upgrading my laptop's graphics card?

I just bought an HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14 (Touchsmart), and I want to do a bit of gaming on it. I (stupidly) bought Bioshock Infinite from Steam without doing research beforehand, and it can only run at the lowest settings. I was wondering if I could add another graphics card? The Intel 4000 HD just isn't doing it.

blueray is not working

catalyst control center won't open, please assist
hello everyone i have an HP DV7-6c00 laptop with an ATI Radeon HD 7470M graphics card running on Windows 7 SP1 64 bit.
Now a few days ago i was able to open Catalyst Control Center (CCC) or "configure switchable graphics" but now for some reason I am not able to open it which really makes me upset since I have had nothing but bad luck with this laptop.
When i was able to open CCC when i tried to configure switchable graphics it only allowed me to select programs to use with the switchable graphics, this is not what i wanted.
I wanted it just like my other HP laptop where if i plug in my charger it asks me to switch graphics cards, and if I unplug it, same thing.
I was able to get my other laptop to work properly with the switchable graphics option by getting the latest ATI radeon graphics card for that laptop, but for some reason I cant do that with this laptop. It seems that the radeon hd 7470m driver can only come from HP.
Even when i downloaded the correct driver or auto detect utlity from Radeon's site, it gives me an incompatible hardware error, and the install is aborted.
Okay so since I wanted to fix my switchable grahics problem where it was more general (ask me to switch when i plug in/unplug charger) i was told i needed to update my bios. So i updated my bios from HP's website. Here is the link i used
Okay so after I updated my bios i went into the bios and went into the "switchable graphics option" and changed it from dynamic to "fixed".
After reboot I can't open CCC (i couldn't open it before the bios update either, i was hoping the bios update would fix it)
So i tried going to "HP Recovery Manager" and reinstalling the AMD Graphics driver, that did not work.
I tried going to "add remove programs" and I tried the "repair" option from "Catalyst Install Manager" and that did not work...
Like i said...I am very unhappy with this laptop, it seems like it is almost a daily chore to keep this laptop working properly. Every day it seems like i am fixing something..
Personally i dont know if switchable graphics was a great idea/option, i mean it seems to have the best of intentions, but from all the google searches i have done, it seems to hardly every work correctly.
Now i am a dedicated HP customer, I have purchased 10+ laptops and 5+ desktops over the years, but I am very dissapointed with this laptop...or maybe i am just upset =)
Can anyone please tell me what I need to do to get CCC working so I can configure my advanced graphics card, and fix my switchable graphics issue.
Now none of the drivers worked from AMD's site, but I could try downloading their Catalyst Control Center app, do you think this would work?
I really need some advice on this one...

HP laptop lights up, but screen stays black
My hp probook 4530s screen stay blank when I turn it on. The fans rolling and dvddrive is working. I tried holding it on the power bottom for some minutes still the same. I connected it on external monitor and it works. Please what is the solution to it.

HP Pavilion G6-2004ss Display go pink after Windows starts

I've had a huge issue with my HP Pavilion g6. After a sec Windows starts the display colors turn pink-like. The weird thing is that while windows is starting and in the user selection colors are normal. I've check the drivers and it seems to be correct.

Problem when opening 3D-graphics Games or movies

When I try to start a 3d game (or a very low graphics game, such as Planets Versus Zombies)
After sometime My Notebook turns off automaticly and when I try to open it, it says something about the system being too hot, and then I continue trying to open, but when I reach the login page of the windows it simply goes into sleep mode (I guess) and after sometime it would work perfectly til I try to open any 3d game or a movie, the air comeing from the vent is cool and the notebook doesn't seem hot and I bought a fan and put it under it and still, it turns off....

Hp Envy 14 Possible to update Switchable grahpics?
Hello Folks,
I have an Hp Envy 14 laptop (LR198AV) with switchable graphics which i am trying to update. I can't seem to find the most up to date drivers for my graphics cards. I have the Intel HD 3000 and Radeon HD 6630M. I am more focused on updating the Radeon 6630M because the driver i am using is around 2 years old (8.882.2.0) I even tried using AMD's auto find and detect driver but could not install it because it's not supported. Anyone have any helpful hints or is it just not possible to update those switchable cards anymore?

Graphics and sound beginning are jittery on HP Pavilion
Hey, first time posting here and hoping someone can help me out with the issues I've been having with my laptop. Here is the basic specs for my laptop:

* changed after the hard drive started failing, in other words non-original hardware/software
So I got my laptop almost 3 years ago, things were pretty amazing with my laptop and it was honestly the best (and first and only) laptop I've gotten so far. Anyhow, after 1 year and 2 months or so the original 650 GB Hard Drive started failing. Coincidentially the 1 year warrant had expired by then, so obviously the HP call center didn't help me at all. In the end I had to recurr to getting a replacement hard drive and getting my school technician to do the job of installing it and recovering my information. Of course, by doing so the laptop's original Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS and drivers all were lost in the old hard drive, so he installed his own 32-bit version in my laptop and did the best he could to download and recover the laptop's functions and drivers. In the end, it all turned out pretty well with the exception that the wireless isn't connecting anymore (anyways that's not the actual issue I'm here to ask about)
Lately I've been having issues related mostly to the audio and sound. Whenever I play a video (either from a DVD, in the hard drive or streaming online) the video begins to get choppy and slower with time until the video is almost completely stopped. This change of the video also affects the speed at which the laptop performs, making it slower and at times I have to either close the video program I'm using to avoid the laptop from freezing entirely.
A similar thing happens whenever I'm playing games. The gameplay graphics are slowed down gradually, and the sound also becomes affected by the whole process, making it jittery and slower. This happens even when I set the games at the lowest graphics levels there are (by the way, the games in question are GTA San Andreas, The Sims 3 and DC Universe Online) The problem has gotten worse with time and has appeared dating 3 months back or so. Also it happens at random. Moreover, indeed like most HP laptops out there, mine has always had issues with the ventilation and dust in the fans so it usually becomes very hot and I wouldn't be surprised if this was where the whole problem roots from.
So far I've removed unecessary startup processes with the Task Manager, scanned the whole laptop with Malwarebytes and AVAST, removed programs which are useless/that I don't use, cleaned files and defraged the Hard Drive, ran the memory diagnostics, updated the video and sound drives, updated the BIOS and the problem still remains.
My best guess would be that the video and sound cards are beginning to fail or, even worse, that the motherboard is the one to blame (or simply driver/codec conflicts), but I've tried so many different things and visited so many different forums that I really don't know what it is. Hopefully someone can help me out with figuring what's wrong and the steps to follow to fix it.

EliteBook 8560W screen rotates
I have a HP EliteBook 8560W. I recently reinstalled the operationg system and had to download a copy of Windows 7 from Digital River as I lost my recovery CD. My issue is when I move my laptop the screen shifts from Landscape to portrait, portrait (flipped) or landscape (flipped). My video card is NVIDIA Quatro 1000M. I have been the NVIDIA website, downloaded and installed the latest drivers. I am unsure what else to do as google has nothing for this problem. Any help would be much appreciated!!
