Some of my applications are opening in miniature-sized windows (e.g., Cyberlink PowerDVD, Corel PaintShop Pro, MS Word 2013 Pro, etc.).  In order to read relevant dialogue in some of these apps, in some cases, I have to employ the use of my son's glasses and a magnifying glass.  

 

I called support about this and was advised, at that time, that it is a known phenomenon (something about 4k not being compatible with some applications).  

 

As you can imagine, this is very frustrating.  Is there a known, workable fix for this?

I recently bought this laptop along with a HP active pen. It worked for about a day before failing.

 

I have uploaded all the necessary driver and calibrated my pen and computer. However, despite having worked in the calibration window, everytime I use the pen, the mouse point of the pen always goes to the left far side of the screen. No matter where i tap my pen, the point is always along the far side of the screen.

 

Is there a way to fix this or do I have to take my stylus and computer to a HP service centre.

Hello,

I have a HP EliteBook 850 G2 and I am using the DisplayPort to output to a 4k monitor.  There is an adapter that converts the display port to HDMI. I am using a Monster HDMI cable. The highest resolution available to me currently is 1920x1080. I am trying to get 3840x2160.  I have used other laptops and I have no issue getting 3840x2160.  I have downloaded and installed the latest graphic card drivers for this notebook but I cannot seem to get the PC to recognize the monitor's capabilities of getting a higher resolution. 

 

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I started a Skype video session but the webcam did not turn on. I could see and hear the person on the other end, but they could not see or hear me. How can I resolve this problem.

i have a brand new hp spetcre x360. i have downloaded certain apps from my app store, like hulu, netflix, sling. but i cant get any of these apps to connect and stream to my chromecast device, so i can watch movies/ shows from my computer apps to my tv. . i have 3 other devices (tablet, older laptops) that connect to my chromecast just fine, so i know its not my chrome devices  but this new notebook is the only one that wont connect properly. the internet/wifi are all on the same network. is there something that could be blocking my notebook from allowing my apps to connect with my chrome devices??

Yesterday my touchpad was suddenly turned on and I tried to disable it with the settings I always used (configuration screen) However, when i tried to open the control zone for it, it told me it couldn't connect to the driver. I decide to try and reinstall the driver, but it said another driver was already on my computer. I could delete it within the program files on the configuration screen, but there was nothing. So I couldn't deinstall it at all. Its really annoying because I never use my touchpad and my hand keeps brushing over it, so my mouse or text keeps going away. 

 

Please I would like a solution. I can add files to what my screen keeps saying; but it's all in dutch.

 

(Also my smart connect technology keeps flashing a yellow triangle and I have no idea what I have to do against that)

I have just arrived in Canada for a 3 month stay and have broken the display on my UK purchased pavilion. How can I get it repaired in Canada?

HI,

vanilla brand new notebook.

All Fn works except screen brightness.

I've tried to update BIOS drivers and it's the latest according to the application updater.

Win 10 64bit.

I can change the brightness via the Windows setting.

 

Edit: the buttons are actually working, fn + buttons does not work (only on brightness control) and the fnn key works

Helo,

 

I am trying to connect two external monitors to my HP ProBook 470 (i7-3632QM, AMD Radeon HD 8750M), one with VGA and another with HDMI,  but I haven't managed yet to have all three, two external and laptops built in screen, working.

 

Does this model support having three screens at all?

I am experiencing playback issues with this awesome new Omen laptop with UHD display. When I play either Blu-ray (with external drive) or local video I am seeing audio sync issues. What is really troubling is that the sync issue only occurs when connected outside of my home office. At home, I get beautiful playback without any problems. As soon as I plug into my work network I get a very noticeable lag of about 1/2 second. How can video playback performance be affected by what network you are connected to? especially if you are not playing the video over the network!

 

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

 

Also, HP why have you cheaped out and not made a Blu-ray writer an option for such a great laptop. Very disappointing.

I have 2 HP Stream 11 Pro's, model L3Z44UT. They both have the same issue, the backlight on the LCD is not working. If I connect them to an external monitor it works fine. When I shine a bright light at the screen I can very faintly see the image. I am wondering if its possible to replace just the backlight inverter, the whole LCD needs to be replaced, or something else. 

Is the blue light in my laptop by default set to be low?

Hello there,

 

I recently bought the HP Spectre laptop and have a question with regards to it.

 

I've been a long time OS X user and a month ago decided to switch to windows, hence chose the Spectre. 

 

So the question I have is that when I keep the Spectre next to my Macbook Pro Retina the display of my Spectre is more on the dull yellow side than the Macbook which is bit more whitish. Is this really because of the RGB settings or this showing the quality of both displays? I do know that my macbook has a Retina display, but still I didn't expect the display to have a such big difference.

 

I used f.lux on my macbook to save my eyes at night where the display goes from being whitish to dull yellow. That made me think that the Spectre display is may be set to have less white/blue color variance. Can this be changed?

The notebook is a year and half old. About six months ago, when trying to type in gmail, or anything within Internet Explorer, or Chrome, the cursor jumps and the text changes size. 

 

Sometime I can type other times, I give up and walk away. 

 

I have update the drivers, running AVAST and Chrome all the other programs came with the notebook. 

I have even turn off the mouse pad, and use a wireless mouse. 

 

Any ideas.

HP External DVD Player keeps shutting off during playback.  I have an HP Spectre chromebook connected to my smartboard which runs SmartNotebook 14.  My chromebook has Windows 7.  When the DVD player shuts off, there is an error about losing connection???

Please help. I am so frustrated. I have had this laptop less than a week and it is running so slow that I would rather use my phone. I have 30 days to return it and if something doesn't change that is my plan. EVERYTHING lags...online and offline. That circle of dots is constantly visible. I get so frustrated I just "x" out of whatever program I am trying to access. I chose this computer , because of it's hefty speed, RAM , Quad core, improved graphics card , which was great for the price range and now it doesn't even run an 8 bit game like Minecraft without serious lag. Thank you so much for any help in advance.

Im using an HP Envy SleekBook 6-1090 ee and its Brightness Keys not are not working.Its brightness is at its maximum by default therefore puts constatnt burden on my eyes.Please advise?

i was on youtube and sudenly the screen went black,stoped displaying.i removed the battery  and put it back and restarted it worked for few minute and the screen went black again,please what can i do to restore the system

I need support for HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g188ca (ENERGY STAR)

My computer randomly goes into sleep mode while I'm using it. I'm assuming it's sleep mode - the screen goes black but I can still hear processes in the background. it's been doing this since a few months after i started using it but i wans't using it much so it didn't bother me . Now i need it for work and it has become quite irritating. Please advise.
