Our EliteBook 840s and 850s with Windows 7 seems to struggle with freezing problems on Autocad 2013. The strange thing is there are no event log errors and we can still remote desktop into a "frozen" machine. It's like the video checks out.
The 840/850 models we built are i5 processors with SSDs and the hybrid Intel/AMD discrete graphics wiht the Radeon HD 8750M and the Intel HD.
So far this seems to happen with Autocad and also our in house application that uses DirectX 9. We've tried all HP approved drivers so far. We are currently trying drivers supplied directly by Intel and AMD which we haven't seen fail yet, however HP approved drivers have yet to function properly.
Unfortunately you can tell this platform is still very new due to the video problems we continue to have with these laptops.

HP ENVY SCREEN BEEDING PROBLEM
Hi,
I got a seriuos screen problem with my system!!! The Screen beeding is coming off, its not broken but spilt into two!!
I can hear noises while opening and closing the laptop!!!
NOTE : The hinge is fine nothing is broken!!!!, All i can see is tht the screen beeding got seperated into two

I'M OUT OF WARRANTY THATS A BIG PROBLEM !!!!!
And please will i get this thing repaired from a HP serive center at low cost or Should i need to replace the whole beeding THING (including the hinge)

2005pr problem

Im installing a pr2005 port replicator on an envy 7-j000eb and im always getting an error:
This display adapter (HD36XX or 46XX) is not supported in this release of the software and installation...
Ive allready updated chipset & both video drivers and downloaded newest driver of the pr2005 itself but still no luck...

Graphics card issue, possible driver loss?
Ok, so about a month or two ago, my computer had a failed hard drive and I had to replace it with a hard drive in my old laptop, I tried to update directly from the HP website, but could not find the display adapter driver (Radeon 7450). Suddenly, I found out that windows could retrieve those drivers. Everything was retrieved (except for a PCI express driver), but all my games were laggy, unlike before my hard drive dropped. Later, I tried to update using Sim Drivers, finding the PCI express driver and upating the display adapter. After this update, I found out that my display adapter changed from being Radeon 7450m to Radeon 6400m series. I tried to backup, but it unfortunately did not work. Is there anway to fix this and solve the gaming issues?

Intel i5 processor
Intel 3000 HD and Radeon 7450m switchable graphics
4 GB RAM
5400 rpm hard drive (Used to have 7200 rpm hard drive, if that would be a big difference in performance)

External monitor dim
I have a HP Pavilion G7 (Win7 64 bit). I use an external monitor (Acer x223w) rather than the laptop display 95% of the time.
The external monitor display is quite dim, and text is hard to read. Not sure when this started, I did not notice at any one time, so I don't think it was instantly, more likely progressive over time.
The laptop monitor is still quite bright.
I have tried adjusting bright/contrast, calibrating color, troubleshooting, and checking drivers. I tried a new monitor and new vga cable - still same problem: dim.
What is likely to be going on?

HDMI issue with HP G62
Hello,
I'm having problems with my HP G62 Notebook PC. When I connect the PC to my TV via HDMI the screen will work most of the time but if I'm watching a movie the fan will speed up and the screen with go black for a second then reconnect. Then it will continue to do this until the fan slows down. This usually requires me to stop everything I'm doing and wait. It appears to be worse when there is a greater processing demand. If I close Outlook and Dropbox it usually helps but doesn't completely fix it. My Notebook specifications are as follows:
Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU M460 @ 2.53 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
Windows 7 64-bit
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 (Driver 8.771.1.0)
I've replaced HDMI cords and sent the TV in for repair and I still have the problem. I've also tried updating BIOS and any drivers associated with video.

dm4-1165dx will run in quick web not Windows
I have a dm4-1165dx it was dropped off a desk by a ISP guy installing DSL. He of course said nothing about it. The problem is that the laptop runs fine in Quick web (an HP GUI that you can toggle on or off in the BIOS) However, it seems to flicker and reset if I turn off Quick web. I have check the cable connections, checked the memory, tried drianing the power multiple times. Still I can not get the system to boot in to Windows. Why does it run one GUI just fine but not Windows?

Literally worse costume service ever, this people are the rudest, I sent my laptop in December to get my DISPLAY fixed and they sent it back to me with the SAME PROBLEM and scratch marks, UNBELIEVABLE, they didnt even apologize and just made me send the laptop back, today I got it back, a new one, they never fixed mines and even tho it was a display problem somehow I ended up losing ALL my info. NOW I understand why people rather waist $1000 bucks in an Apple computer before $800 in a HP,

Pavillion dv5230us very dim screen
Hello, I have a dv5230us laptop running windows 7 professional. All drivers and updates are installed. On startup, the lcd screen is very dim for maybe 10 seconds, then goes out, if you shine a flashlight onto the screen, you can see the image is there, but very very faint. Plugging in an external monitor, the external monitor works fine. I replaced the lcd screen and inverter board to no avail. Does one have any ideas? Thank you for your time.

ati radeon mobility 5470 making my display go black at windows login
I'm not exactly sure what's happened, I recently updated my AMD graphics card drivers (possibly through steam but I can't remember) and shortly after when ever I start the computer using the radeon 5470 the screen cuts to black when I login
when I disable it in the device manager (in safe mode) it loads fine with the integrated graphics card
I've tried uninstalling and re installing the drivers from the AMD website but this doesn't resolve anything
also when I check the display adapter for the radeon 5470 it doesn't display any information, just lots of question marks
please help me resolve this issue

Black Screen.
Hello,
I have a HP pavilion dv9700, a couple of years ago the screen went black while i was using it, so i just left it sit for a couple of years. Just a couple of weeks ago i got it out of the closet to see if it would work, to my surprise everything was working fine. I used it for a few hours then i shut it down. The next day i started it up and the screen was black again. Everything boots up just fine and i hooked up an external monitor and everything works just fine. If anyone knows why the laptop has a black screen but the external monitor works, I would love to know why!

White Screen on DV7T-7200 - maybe video card problem?

Problem with drivers ATI and Windows 8.1
Hi, i have a problem with my envy 14t-1200 ultrabook, no way to walk interchangeable graphics .. Beginning not open the Catalyst Control Center, the error is "I leave host application working"
I have installed windows 8.1 and the dedicated video card is the ATI 8750M .. I tried lowering the drivers from amd and also from hp but still does not work either and I realize that only integrated intel hd 4000 board works because the games run slow me before in high quality and worked perfect ..
The strange thing is that HP's website says that the drivers are compatible with Windows 8.1.

HP G62-340US - ATI RADEON HD4200 detects external monitor(TV) but sends no Signal
All,
My Laptop HP G62-340US connected to TV via HDMI and used to work perfectly on Windows 7 . There was power failure and since then it stopped working.
So I uninstalled everything and installed original Catalyst control center that came with HP. Now in the CCC it shows built in display and the LG TV on HDMI. But when I switch the input on TV it says no Signal. I tried everything I could but it doesnt seems to fix the problem.
My Laptop was dual boot so I tried in Windows 8 and still a blank screen.
Yesterday finally fed up with the isue and I restored the laptop to factory setting and its still not working.
I tried another TV and it doesnt work there as well.
I tried 3 different HDMI cables and problem still exists. These cables works fine with another laptop.
in the device manager when I click on properties windows says this device is working properly.
So now what? Has the GPU card failed? IS there any solution?

AMD display adapter keeps stopping.
I have an hp 2000 notebook pc. windows 7 64 bit
display driver keeps stopping. I get blue screen error and display adapter has stopped working but has recovered. Its been going on for 5 days. I have run every scan that says it will fix problems but none of them have. Please help.

Dedicated video Card doesn't work
I've just bought an HP 200-2d03SQ laptop and instaled Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bits), and unfortuantely the laptop doesn't recognise the dedicated AMD video card. When I instal the driver for the video card, firstly it detects that i have the AMD Radeon 6400 HD when in fact i have the AMD Radeaon 7450m HD and secondly when i instal the driver, it isn't recognized. At the comand center it states an error.
Could you please help me out? doesn't the video card recognize the video card only for Windows 8?
