Recently, our team updated our hardware from a standard PC to a laptop/docking station for each of our users.  Each docking station is connected to two EliteDisplay E222 via DisplayPort cable.  Prior to the refresh, the monitors worked perfectly and there were no display issues.  However, now that they are connected to the docking station, they will randomly blink, lasting for a few seconds.  Windows does not seem to notice since none of the desktop items move to the other screen as if the hardware is no longer being recognizes.  Nor do the monitors blink at the same time and it does not seem to happen on a regular interval.

 

I have already tried the latest drivers, replaced the docking station, turned down the brightness from 90% to 80% and turned off Auto-Sleep Mode.

 

Current hardware is:

Elitebook 840 G3

2013 Ultraslim Docking Station

EliteDisplay E222

2 Displayport cables (HP issued with unrelated PC hardware)

 

I have yet to try replacement DisplayPort cables since both monitors had no issus when in use while connected to the PC (for almost a month).

 

I have also not tried a third docking station.

After ugrading to windows 10 my laptop really messed up.  It had worked fine since 2009 except for my son replacing the hardrive and the fan had to be replaced.  I was lucky to have my 16 yr son help out but he is gone 1800 miles away.  I cannot even go back to windows 7 until i get this fixed.  I also had problems with another laptop after upgrade to 10 but after 3 days I finally resolved the problem.  The battery pack has not worked for a long time so I just always used the ac adaptor.  With windows 10 you cannot even hit a function key to go in safe mode. I cannot see anything so I was hoping I would not have to throw away now.  If anyone knows of any solutions could they please offer some advice.  I would greatly appreciate your time and effort.  Thanks so much!  Gigi8.

I don't know what happened to my screen. I had my headphones in my laptop and I closed It while I went to sleep. Mind you I did not close it all the way. When I woke up the screen had a bunch of colourful lines and a headphone print on it. It did not turn on. I need help! What happened? Will it go back to normal after a couple of hours?

The display show like a ghost effetc of previous image for example the browser page that i read before. This page remain like a ghost more visible in the dark part of monitor for exemple while i'm watching a video or a photo. 

this page remain after the turn off and the restart. Maybe is the page that is impressed more in the lcd for a question of time. terrible

Hello!

 

My computer has the HP Truevision HD camera. I bought the latest instalment of Cyberlink YouCam 7 Deluxe and, upon installation, see that resolution of the video is not in high definition.

 

I have the settings changed within the software to 1280x720.

 

Is this a camera issue? Do I need a new camera?

 

Any help is appreciated!

I have to press my button 'G' a bit hard than other buttons to input the text. It is really inconvinient when I am writin a letter or anything else as it easily becomes a disaster. What should I do?

I have a HP Pavillion beatsaudio and I want to connect two monitors. The one via the HDMI works fine, the one via the USB does not. I have tested it on the old HP and it does work, but for some reason I cannot get it to work on the beatsaudio. Is there specific instructions for the beats audio?  It registers as "3. Display device on: VGA" but that is all it will do... it will not power up under any circumstances.

Help please.

My HP machines has developed a white spot on the screen and though it was reported atleast a month back, there has been no effort made what so ever to  physically evaluate the cause of the issue (except that few photos were shared) and the only reply I get from the you team is asking if I was willing to pay for the replacement. My machine is still under warrantly and I bet there has been no external damage caused to it. If it has happened on its own, then its definitely problem with the screen and I am entitled for a free replacement. Please let me know if there is any course of action in this process.

I have a HP G60-231WM running Windows Vista.

 

My problem is this:

 

When I turn it on while plugged in the screen flashes on at first but is really dim and red shifted then immediately goes black , but when I turn it on on battery power only the screen will come and remain working but dimly.

Hey all,

 

My Spectre's touch screen stopped working after trying to upgrade its firmware.
I was looking for a newer firmware version to make the stylus work, but after running the software I got a red screen, it rebooted and never worked.
I called HP support and they told me it is a hardware problem, however the hardware is detected correctly when I boot it with a Linux distro. Looks like it's a matter of having the correct firmware or driver to make it work again.
I looked everywhere for a firmware update or a tool to diagnose it, but I had no luck.
HP support here in Brazil says they can't do anything, even if I have a global coverage. Taking it to the US for support is out of question.

 

Any thoughts?

Hello,

 

As the subject line mentions that I have HP Pavilion dv6t 7000 CTO quad core entertainment PC. I read in the maintenance guide that HMDI 1.4, which laptop has, supports 4k resolution. But for some reason when I connect my 4k TV to the laptop, the maximum I am getting is 1080p. How can I get 4k resolution?

So, I am on an HP Envy Laptop and I thought I might switch to a dedicated gpu or whatever so that I can get more frames during games, etc. Its not necessary but I thought it might help me get more frames, because if you have a powerful Core i7 7th Gen then you might want to get a dedicated gpu for the frames. I do not know quite what GPU I should get, or if I even decide to get it. But first I wanted to ask, how do I do it? or Can I do it? if its "solded" to thr motherboard then bam, problem solved, I'll probably build, get a custom made, or just buy a good "gaming" desktop. Unless a laptop is possible, but by "gaming" in the quotes, I mean it to be fast enough for games like Overwatch, Minecraft, League of Legends, etc.

 

Wondering if you can do it, but still not necessary but very helpful!  

 

P.S Product Name clarification, its an HP Envy and the product number is 15-as133-cl

Is it possible to connect to separate monitors with HDMI-DVI connection cables?  Is the HP capable of handling multiple attached monitors?  If so, do you need to purchase a HDMI splitter?

The recommended  setups is 125% http://prntscr.com/dex38l (If to use 100% everything icons, web part looks invisible for screen resolution 1920*1080.

But if to use these recommended setups some icons are with very low quality.

All drivers are installed and updated (even HP support assistant say so)

Hello,

 

Quick question regarding the OSD settings for the monitor ProDisplay P221.

 

After each power-on / power-off - the monitor is performing an auto-adjustment of the image; I want to deactivate this but I can't remember what was the OSD setting for that?

 

 

Can you help me out?

Hi,

I've just bought a used S140u Elitedisplay USB screen. It's working well, except that the 2 buttons controlling the brightness don't work.

The power button works.

My configuration: Dell latitude E5430, Windows 10 x64 FR uptodate and drivers from HP uptodate.

I just got a new HP Envy x360 with Windows 10 (64 bit) OS.  I was using a Compaq LA2405wg monitor on my old HP PC, running Windows 7.  I bought an HDMI to VGA converter and attached my monitor to the HDMI port.  The system displays to the monitor, but is skewed to the left (about 10-15% is not displayed) and the display does not use the entire area of the external monitor.  I used the buttons on the monitor and moved the screeen over a bit (image control->horizontal position), but I am still not getting it all.  There does not seem to be a Windows 10 driver for the monitor.  Any suggestions?
