How can I get a replacement glass for a HP Envy 17"?
New computer. My touch screen glass was cracked from accidentally sitting on it.
The touch screen is reading touch pressure in several areas and is unusable, so we disabled it in the device manager. The computer works fine otherwise.
Best Buy will not be able to fix it in less than 3 weeks and I need to use this laptop for work.
Which replacement parts do I need? Who sells the part(s) for me or a pro to install?

Connecting Envy x360 to ZR30w monitor, low resolution
I just got a new Envy x360 (core i7, with Intel graphics), and I'm trying to connect it to my ZR30w monitor. I've tried connecting via a HDMI->DVI-D cable, via a USB3 DisplayLink dock (again, via HDMI), and finally via a "gofanco" active HDMI->DisplayPort adapter (then to the DisplayPort on the monitor). In all these cases, I'm able to successfully connect to the monitor, but I can only get 1280x800 resolution max on it. I know the laptop's HDMI port is capable of higher resolution, as I connected it to a 4k TV, and got 3840x2160 resolution as expected. I also know that hooking both the DisplayPort and DVI-D ports to older computers gets me the expected 2560x1600 resolution on the ZR30. Any ideas what is wrong here?

hola amigos soy nuevo y no se como manejar este foro pero quisiera ver si me pueden ayudar, ps pasa que compro una laptop hp15 trajo windows 10 pero no me gusta y le instalo windows 7 pero pasa lo siguiente le instalo todos lo controladores normal pero el de video no aparece en la pagina oficial pero cuando encuentro el controlador en la pagina del fabricate del chip de video lo instalo y todo muy bien pero pasa que cuando reinicio la pc ella cuando enciende ps se me friza se me encongela y no se activa el aereo glass ni nada entonce tengo que entrar en modo seguro y deintalar el driver y asi funciona bien pero sin el driver y asi no puedo jugar ademas de esto e descargador mas de 5 controladores que pesan alguno 250 o 450MB y se instalan bien pero me hacen lo mismo, me pueden ayudar por favor !!!! estoy asustado y decesperado.
y las especificaciones es un AMD A6 4nucleos a 2.0GHz y la tarjeta grafica un AMD Radeon 8400 HD serie R3
HDD 500Gb y 4Gb de ram un amigo me dijo que es e chipse de video que tiene problemas me dijo como que hay que desoldarlo y volverlo a soldar dijo que talvez se aregle asi pero que con el tiempo volvera a lo mismo, el es tecnico pero dudo de eso lo que me dijo por que en w10 me funciona super bien juego COD bien pero no se a que viene ese problema en verdad necesito ayuda ahora mismo tengo el w10 eso me paso solo en w7 que se me friza con el driver de video.

Annoying brightness icon on desktop
My desktop (in all apps) has suddenly started showing a black brightness slider on top left of the screen. I can neither drag it or close it. Very annoying as it covers important details in Excel & other programs! How do I get rid of it please?

Unable to set up a second monitor on HP Stream 11
A vividly coloured HP Stream 11 laptop has been in my possession since yesterday. The idea is to connect it to a computer monitor at my university with an HDMI cable in order to be able to use Ubuntu there.
Now, for some reason, "Displays" in Ubuntu 16.04 does recognize a second display as 'Dell Inc 23"', but it does NOT project my Ubuntu laptop image onto the external monitor.
Nor is the image projected onto the external monitor in Windows.
How can I fix this?

Cant play games in my laptop. Shapes appearing in the screen
When I open a game the screen is getting disturbed with different shapes. Graphics Drivers are are updated. it has 2 gigs of video card and 4 gigs of ram with i3 6th gen processor with 2.3ghz speed. im sure that its not something due to a problem in laptop features. Attached pics show the actual problem when I try to play Grand Theft Auto V.

Replacement screen of HP Compaq Pavilion 17-E101SA Blank
I have replaced a cracked screen on my HP laptop. Whilst the new screen is connected correctly and has power, windows does not display on the screen. I have plugged the laptop into a seperate VDU via a VGA cable and the homescreen appears. I have performed the updates the HP website recommends, new BIOS, drivers and can see vis MS tools that the laptop has all the latest drivers but the screen still won't work. Any ideas as to why this is and how to fix it? Thanks
Since posting this message I have accessed the BIOS and that does not show up on the laptop screen either and only appears on the VDU instead so I am stuck with regards what to do next.

Videos stuttering and out of sync
Whenever I play a video on VLC, YouTube, KissCartoon or anywhere really, after a while it starts stuttering and then when I pause the video, it plays for a second still before stopping. Video of what I mean.

Bad and non-professional Experience with HP in Saudi
Dear All,
I had a very bad experience with HP team here in Saudi. I am A Canadian and working now in Saudi. I bought I new laptop for my daughter, and after a short period, I had a problem with the touch screen.
I sent to them to fix it but they did not fix it until now. It was supposed to be done in 10 days, however, it has been 21 days now, and I have not received it. I did not hear from them until I start to call and complain.
I would like to submit a complaint to the top management. My daughter could not use her laptop and could finish or submitted her assignments on time. They are many cases as me here in Saudi but they do not care about their customers.
I wonder if you can contact me or send me the contact of top management in HP.

HP envy - left side of screen has lots of coloured lines
Hi, I have an HP envy laptop and all of a sudden this morning the left third of the screen (exactly a third to the millimetre) has lots of coloured vertical lines. The photo shows it at it's worst, usually its just a few horizontal pink sections of the screen, or sometimes it doesn't happen at all.
Here is an image to show what I mean:
The annoying thing is this happened to my previous HP laptop last year, which I tried to fix by taking it apart and making sure all the ribbon cables were secure and in good condition, which they were. Luckily I bought that from Amazon who accepted it back after 6 months with no questions asked, but this one is from eBay, and although I did get a Curry's receipt with it when I bought it I'm not sure they'd be so willing to replace it, and I'd have to look around for the receipt.
Has anyone else had this happen with their laptops? What do you think my best option for getting it fixed/replaced would be? Cheers

Install intel graphics with no screen?
So, I have installed windows 7 (again) with my broken screen, but I used a monitor to assist me with that. As soon as it installed, I remembered that my display driver was missing, making the laptop inoperable. If anyone can find a fix to this, it would help me very much.

Spectre x2 detachable keyboard not working
I am having an issue with my Spectre x2 detachable windows 10……. the detachable keyboard has been a great pain this last weeks. It started by giving not working for some seconds then it would work until just recently it fully stopped working the backlighting doesn’t work the keys don’t work nor does the touch pad work the only thing that is working fine is the bang and olufsen speakers in the keyboard I have tried everything, reset my computer, detached it and attached it back again and even troubleshooter my entire computer nothing seems to work and real pain is that I have only had this 2 in 1 for 4 months and my warranty has already expired…… hope someone can help…..
