Vertical Colored Lines on Screen
I have an HP Pavilion dv6 6100 Special Edition Entertainment Notebook, on which I run Windows 7 64 bit.
For about 2 months now, multi-colored vertical lines have spread from right to left across my screen. There is a somall portion that is black too, and it sort of flashes white and purple occasionally. They are perfectly straight, and there are no cracks in my screen. Right now I'm operating with a third of the screen visible. Please help

HP Sleetbook 14-b017cl Laptop with Windows 8.1 - Brightness control drops to minimum value
Laptop Sleetbook 14-b017cl with Windows 8.1 - Brightness control drops to lowest setting during operation -more often when I press numeric keys - turning off adaptive brightenss in power options does not fix problem. I have current video driver from HP installed. Brightness can be readjusted using power setting plan or settings>brightness control but brightness will drop to minimum setting immediately. I have researched this problem and several sources show the problem is with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver. Specific help needed if possible - Thank you.

Upgrading pre-installed YouCam removes my video drivers
I contacted YouCam but I know they are going to send me back to HP. I have an HP Pavilion g7-1219 laptop and YouCam 3.5 came pre-installed. I purchased an upgrade to YouCam5. When I ugrade it removes the pre-installed version of YouCam and suddenly NONE of my video or image programs will work.
The following are the steps I took that show how I now know that.
I looked up what drivers came shipped with my laptop on HP’s website for the Pavilion g7-1219wm. That link shows that version 3.5 of Cyberlink YouCam came installed on my laptop. On the page it is under software, #2012-09-14 , Version3.5.4.5527, 157.95M and when downloaded from that link it saves as sp58600.exe. So I downloaded sp58600.exe after being sure YouCam was completely removed from my computer using Iobit Uninstaller.
Then using Windows Device Manager, I uninstalled the drivers for the sound, video, graphics and display adapters on my laptop in an attempt to be sure all of my drivers were up to date. When I restarted my laptop it began automatically searching for drivers. An error notice then popped up for one of them that said YouCam is not installed on your computer. So at this point I ran sp58600.exe which loaded the original YouCam version 3.5. When I did this all my software that would not run before would now run, including Adobe Creative Suite CS6, my webcam, and the original YouCam which I just re-downloaded.
Now I was free to run the installer for YouCam5 again, but it says an older version of YouCam is already installed on your computer, you must remove it to continue. When I remove the original YouCam, my video driver goes right out with it and I am back to the beginning with none of my video and image programs being able to run, including YouCam5.
I have cycled through this process twice to be sure there was no other driver that would load using Windows Update and with all YouCam's completely unistalled from my HP g7-1219. It would never draw in a different video driver that would actually stay resident on my laptop once YouCam5 was installed.
There MUST be another driver or option that will allow me to upgrade to YouCam 5. Do you have any idea what can I do? Is there not anyway I can have both the original and YouCam5 on my laptop at the same time? They would never both run at the same time. I needed YouCam5 so I can record site help videos plus mentor volunteer training videos using the screen capture technology for my users on my nonprofit’s child abuse survivor live support site RemovingChains.org.

A few days ago, I take my laptop to clean it up, after that, the guy tell me that many programs I didnt used made my laptop slow so if i wanted to change that, i had to format with the hp recovery system so i did it! now i got that problem, after this i cant open AUTOCAD and another programs I used to use before, I dont know if this is related with the programs! another error comes out (oxc000007b) can u help me please...

HP 255 G1 laptop on-screen display
Recently downgraded to Windows 7 and now my on-screen display for the volume, brightness etc. no longer show on-screen. The buttons still work though. I saw no drivers within the support page, and I searched google only to find out dated threads.

Display changed color and lost resolution
Last saturday, for no reason, My laptop screen color changed to a teal and purple tinge. You can see all the pixels and lines. I did a bunch of updates and nothing has changed. how do I fix this problem.

Radeon HD 6770M display displacement bug
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6136so. It uses switchable graphics: "Mobile Intel HD Graphics" / "Radeon HD 6770M"
For a while I have had a graphics error in fullscreen flash applications, and now in a couple of games when running them fullscreen.
The right side of the screen goes black, like a bar about 1 cm / 1/2-inch, and the mouse cursor is also displaced about the same amount to the right.
It's like the displayed graphic gets shifted to the left (while in fullscreen).
i know there are more people out there with the same problem, but I havent managed to find a solution for the problem.

my screen is a LP171WP4 (TL) (P2). my question is i can find all kinds of screens with lp171wp4 and TL but what does the P2 mean? alot of the screens are tl 02 n2 n1 etc. what does the numbers after the tl mean and do they have to match mine in order to work on my lap top? my lap top is a dv7 1029

Switchable graphics for radeon 6770M/Intel HD 3000
I have a huge problem with the way HP handles these drivers. (radeon 6770M/Intel HD 3000)
First and foremost the problem is there are no drivers for windows 8 for radeon6770M. (for my 2+ year old computer) This would be fine if i never wanted to use the high powered graphics. But I do.
This begs the question then, why can't I just download the graphics drivers off the manufacturers website and install them?
(this doesn't work. I tried).
This essentially forces me to use windows 7 or hunt for a driver from a similar model on HP's website and hope it works. Which I did, and it works fine with windows 8, but not 8.1.
If i can't download the correct drivers from HP, I BETTER BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THEM FROM THE MANUFACTURERS WEBSITE!!!!

This **bleep** is totally unacceptable. Why isn't the switching software/mechanism independent of the drivers? This means HP has to program a wrapper around the manufacturers drivers to make them work with their switching mechanism.
The problem is HP doesn't support updates after ~2 years!! Thus leaving my computer upgradeable-less, unless I poke around and experment, reinstall windows 8 15 times finally finding the correct driver.
I'm thinking about lawyering up and suing. This is bull**bleep**. Role out drivers, or don't use switchable graphics. Its that **bleep**ing simple.
Give me some drivers that work with my model or I'm going get litigous all over you. Its not like you put on the packaging "this radeon card will be rendered non-upgradable after 2 years because we don't want to support it"

video chat is upside down
I havea HP 2000 with Windows 8 and my video chat is upside down. The video is upside down inside the window. I have heard that there was an issue with a video virus on Widows 8. I can't seem to find itusing AVG. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

amd-ati video driver for pavilion dv6 with windows 7 stopped working
I switched from a hhd to a ssd. I recovered my files from a portable hard drive but my amd-ati video driver wont operate correctly. I might mention the solid state drive does only have half the memory but I do not play games or download much so should have enough memory. The driver I had contained 500 gb and the samsung evo force has only 250 gb. so can someone tell me how to get it to work?
