Hello sir/madam,

Recently when i tried to run  a high end game on my laptop i realized from the lag that it was not using my gaphics(AMD R5 M330)card but was working on the inbuilt graphics card. After that i have tried installing the drivers from the hp support website and also drivers from the AMD official web site but it is not working pls this is important .

I have small white dots that randomly appear on my screen and it does not always happen but it almost appears like static and is better seen on the black screen. I just bought this laptop so I do not think it has been dropped or any damage to the screen at all.

I have a Touch Smart All-in-one PC H110 that I just bought about 2 weeks ago.  This was manufactured a while ago, but I just got it with a solid-state hard drive. 

 

I think that the touch screen worked properly when I first tried it.  I have loaded up all of my programs and now the touch screen works with a single touch and hold, but I cannot get any double-click action using the test program.  I uninstalled the HID compliant touch screen from the device manager menus and then rebooted to restore it but the problem remains.  I think that the Microsoft driver 10.0.14393.351 dated 6/21/2006 is the latest driver, but I am not sure of that. 

 

The computer works fine except for this problem.  How can I be sure that my driver is not corrupted?

Microsoft has a "Refresh" function available from a rescue bootable USB drive, but that will remove all of my programs and I am not sure if it will replace the driver.

 

Can anyone suggest a way to know that the driver is being replaced with a good version?  If I have to use the Refresh program does that insure that I will get a new driver?

 

I notice that there is a new UEFI boot for this PC dated October, 2016?  I doubt that a UEFI update will solve the problem so have not done it.

 

Can anyone help me with suggestions as to how to solve this touch screen problem.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My cousin used to use my computer so he downloaded software that is preventing my pc from receiving updates from HP. My pc is outdated basically and needs to be upgraded. I need a total clean up of all malfunctioning software which is not compaterble to HP standards to enable my pc to receive compatible updates

It appears to be a driver issue with the display drivers. I am trying to configure the swicthable graphics that came on my laptop. 

 

System specs:

HP Pavilion dv7t-6b00

Intel Core (quad) i5 -2430m CPU @ 2.40GHz  2.40Ghz

8 gig ram

64 bit 

Intel HD Graphics 300

Radeon HD 6770M ( this is what i am trying to get to work)

HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station blank display

When trying to use a Displayport to VGA or a Displayport to DVI cable to connect from an HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station to an external display, the display comes up with no signal and goes to sleep. Connecting with a VGA cable, it works fine. We were able to replicate this issue with multiple new, fresh out of the box docking stations. The issue happens on any monitors that we connect, even ones that work with other docks.

 

It seems to be the Intel Displayport Topology is picking up the display and making it so that the displayport cannot be activated without connecting 3 monitors.

 

 

The older version of the Ultraslim Docking station that only had 1 displayport seems to work just fine, it's just the newer 2013 version that has 2 displayports that has this issue.

 

 

Does anyone know if there is any newer firmware or where I can disable/stop the Displayport Topology from picking up this one monitor and trying to make it 3 displays? If not, we're probably going to have to go back to USB adapters and those are no fun.

Hey everyone! Thanks for reading and for any help that you give me!

 

This problem has been occuring for almost a year and it seems like nothing works. I have chatted with 2 hp specialists which they have been helpful but the problem still remains. The one hp guy actually saw it happening when he took over my laptop. He did updates and checked the touchscreen settings. After he did all of that, the laptop restarted and the dots went away but the thing is, once I restart or turn it off and back on, they go away for a little while. Sometimes a week, a day or two, or even a few hours. So the hp guy thought he had fixed the problem but the dots are back! I literally can't take it anymore! I don't have money for a new laptop. This laptop is not even a year old yet and it cost me over $650. I paid that much for a custom made laptop and this is what I get? My old two year old laptop that I got from Walmart for $250 on Black Friday doesn't even do this. It's just slow.

 

More about the dots:

 

The range of how many dots appear on the screen differs. Sometimes 2-3 or sometimes like 10 of them. Also it differs on how bad it is. Sometimes they don't move or keep clicking the same spot and other times they go crazy clicking the screen and moving back and forth trying to scroll. It is literally like a ghost is standing there usuing all five fingers and repeaditly clicking on the screen and dragging his hand back and forth. So it's pretty hard for me to be doing stuff on my laptop. When the dots appear, depending on what I'm doing, they start clicking on all kinds of links and opening cortana. I have to move my page to the right so that they aren't clicking on my stuff. It's also hard to move the mouse as it keeps going back to the dots thinking that is where I am trying to go.

 

I was never asked "Hey there is something wrong with your laptop. In order to fix it, please ship it to us." No that would have been to easy. I'm pretty sure I'm out of warrenty as well. I tried to get a video on here or even a picture but I tried and couldn't get either.

Screen intermittent connection

After startup, moving the angle of the screen makes the picture flicker and it eventually goes grey then black. I have tried the HP support assistant which recommended going to the bios and loading setup defaults, this made no difference. It seems to be a hardware fault. (possibly intermittent connection). How do i fix this ?

My laptop screen is split in identical two's with a blue line in middle.

Thunderbolt 3 External GPU Compatibility/Support

Hi There Guys,

 

I've just purchased the latest Spectre X360 specifically because it has thunderbolt three, which I would one day like to use with an external GPU. I've read in some places that HP are specifically blocking the use of external GPU's on these devices which is troubling. 

 

Its been confirmed that the spectre does not work with the Razer core

 

Just wondering if this is true and if anyone knows whether this will likely change as if there is no support i'll be returning the laptop before it arrives!

Hardware Diagnostic Component Test - Touchscreen not responding.

I am helping a friend try to regain his touch screen capabilities.  He seems to think that the windows 10 upgrade stopped it working. 

 

I have run the Hardware Diagnostic Test (F2 on boot) and run the component check for touch screen.  There is no response to touching the screen.   This test is UEFI which I presume runs before any OS is loaded.  The display works fine otherwise.  Is there a way to know if this is a motherboard problem?  I can't find anything in the BIOS that relates to touch screen, and I can't get a log report for the diagnostic test because I can't start the test ... it just times out and the log says cancelled.  Is there a separate connector from display to motherboard for touch screen that may have come loose? 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Active Stylus Suddenly Stopped Working on HP Spectre x360

Hello,

 

I've been using the Dell Active Stylus (750-AAGN) with my HP Spectre x360 for the past few months and it had been working great.  Recently, the stylus stopped working, despite having new batteries in.  I changed the batteries and still it did not work.  It was the most bizzare thing, as it literally just cut out while I was writing and did not show any signs that it was defective beforehand.

 

On top of that, I checked my laptop with an old Active Stylus that my laptop had always been able to recognize, but could not write with it because of a faulty tip on it, and my laptop did not recognize that pen as well.  This leads me to believe that there is something wrong with my laptop (hopefully I am wrong about that).

 

My laptop is fully updated and I checked for driver updates on the HP page for my laptop pertaining to stylus, but could not find something.  PLZ HELP.
