Purchased the HP U 160 about 2 years ago. VERY PLEASED with the performance.
Now suddenly, the device driver says "malfunctioning device" when I connect to USB. Monitor did come on once (for a few seconds) as I was trying to adjust "display settings" on my desktop. Unit does have power (power switch is lit up). I have tried to update the driver and attempted to install on a second computer.
Any other options or suggestions? Is there a different driver I can try?
Hello I recently re-installed windows 7 on my laptop due to it crashing a lot and had a problem with an update. Anyway, I have updated all other drivers using this website but it wont let me download any of the three graphics drivers there is? I have an Radeon graphics sticker on my laptop if that helps at all? when I try to download the AMD first one it crashes my computer and makes me restore again, the second and third says my system is not compatable with the driver download.
This is my compatable ID on the graphics drive " PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&REV_00 " and this is the hardware ID " PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_00 "

I have a HP Pavilion dv7, I want to disable the touchpad. I am running Windows 10 64 bit. The options to disable does not exist through any of the mentioned methods in the forums I have researched. It does not show up in the mouse enable or disable as described.
This touchpad is very annoying to say the least. I am very close to taking the laptop apart and pulling the ribbon connector off to permanently disable it.
Hoping someone has the answer to shutting it off?

My laptop was updated to windows 10 a few months ago and it has been working fine. The last week or so it has started intermittantly having green flashing lines across the bottom of the screen after being on for a while. It is across the taskbar - you can see the icons through it but the flashing is very distracting when it is happening and therefore cannot really click on the icons. The laptop was purchased December 2014 so not even 2 years old yet but out of warranty. I have already been on and updated the graphics driver from the hp site but this hasnt resolved the problem. If anyone can help? TIA

I have a new HP spectre 360x and the auto rotation does not work. There is no change when the laptop is rotate, put into a tent etc. There is no enable/disable rotation in the quick setting. or under control panel display change display settings as I have seen mentioned in other posts. Please help!

I have the HP Spectre x360 - 13t-4200 CTO and have spent 4 weeks trying to get my brand new HP Active Stylus to work with this brand new laptop. I also bought a 2nd stylus to make sure the first one wasn't the problem. I have spoken with five different tech support reps, plus my case was escalated to a team of engineers. Although this very stylus is listed as compatible with this laptop, the word today from the "engineers" was that, no, I cannot use a stylus with my laptop, there is no work-around and, although there is a firmware upgrade for the 15" model, there is nothing for the 13" model (nor can they tell me if there is any plans in the works) and that I am "welcome to return the laptop for a refund" and long as I do it in the next couple days before 30 days after receiving the laptop.
Sorry, HP, this has been a nightmare, with non-stop bad information and I think that you should publish on the website that a stylus will not work so that when people consider purchasing this model, they will know that they can't use a stylus. But we all know that's not going to happen because it could affect sales of the laptop.
If you have to have a stylus working on this laptop, you should go with the Dell XPS. Frankly, I should have know better as this is my very first HP computer.
Trying to finish setup on My HP Pavilion notebook. I have installed the OS, all I need to do is get the Wireless, Video drivers s and the rest of the functions of my notebook to work. At Best Buy I found an article describing everything need to get full function out of my Note book. I have searched now for over 3 hours and I have not been able to find it. Any assistance on getgttng this to fully function is greatly appreciated.
Notebook will no longer give signal through HDMI to TV..was working a few days ago..... Cable is fine.
Purchased a new cable, could not get connection, took both cables back to the store and they tested them....old and new work just fine 
I have a Dell monitor plugged in to my HP envy 13 via HDMI-DVI cable and it has always worked. There must have been an update pushed or something but now my computer will not even detect another monitor is attached. I've pushed F4 to extend the display and even went in to the settings/display/detect and still nothing. Is there an issue with the video card or was something pushed that changed settings or bios in my PC?

Everytime when i open an app using my nvidia 740M graphic processor, it shows the above error and then system crashes and reboots. it shows nvlddmkm error. i am not able to play any graphic intensive apps. kindly help me as soon as possible.
and yes i have tried reinstalling the drivers(latest and old both)
even tried rebooting my OS, windows 7,8,8.1,10. but nothing worked.
i thing its a problem in hardware but if it so it should not install the nvidia drivers or it should not detect my graphic processor. pleaseee help.
Hi i would like to know if my probook 4530s will support 1600x900 resolution. At the moment i can only get 1366x768 but it has dedicated radeon 1gb graphics. I assumed it would suppot higher than standard HD.
Is there a way i can find out if this model can manage the higher resolution?

The display works fine only when the lid is all the way open or at a position when it is about to be closed. If I adjust it to a viewing angle it blacks out or a lot of horizontal and vertical lines show up. What could be the problem? I had a lot of trust on HP hardware and that's what made me choose HP. But even the HP service center guy at HP is no help. Rather than trying to solve the issue he is just trying to convince me to extend the warranty by paying a whole load of money by saying all negative stuff. He says as soon as he opens the case to look whether it is a connector cable issue the whole display might not work and you will need to spend around 15k for the same. WTH man!
My laptop screen is broken, so I use an external VGA monitor. Today after I logged in I got an error "cortana and start menu not working" . I searched on net for a solution and I found that safe booting would solve my problem. From msconfig I clicked on the safe boot option. After which I had to restart my PC. But after that I am not getting any display on my external monitor. My laptop screen is also broken. So I am not able to use my laptop. Please help

I just instal with windows 8.1 (64-bit), the problem is it cannot project to another screen. There is no option to duplicate, or project only, etc. There is no grapic option if right click on dekstop.

My notebook says that it has no pen or touch input is available for this display in the PC info tab even though this notebook is a touchsmart notebook!!!
I tried looking for any touchscreen drivers in Device Manager but there were none.
I think that i need to download the touchscreen drivers but there were no touchscreen drivers to download on the software and drivers section on the website.
I really want my touchscreen back but i havn't found a single solution to this.
PLEASE HELP!!
