Has anyone else had the following issues with their Envy notebook?

System/software start up is slow and getting slower.

Very frequent screen freezes

Display jumps from screen to screen including apps that have not been used in weeks.

Sound goes on/off for no apparent reason

Click commands within apps and websites don't work or take me to other apps/websites

Videos will not play or will only play for a few seconds

I have enlisted HP support several times in the last year to help with this but all of their fixes have been temporary. The latest one lasted a week. Now warranty is expired. Suggestions/ Help?

my touchpad wont work and ive tried almost everything. the touch pad doesnt even show up in the device settings to turn on and ive tried updating too. i also tried the hard restart and pressing F10 when its booting up wont even bring up the bios menu

Whenever I close the lid of my notebook and open it sometimes the display won't show anything and it'll remain black. The backlight is always on whenever this happens and it can sometimes be resolved by opening and closing the lid a couple of times but most of the time i have to reboot the laptop completely and it's starting to bother me. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

HP active pen not working with Pavilion x2

My HP active pen is linked to my Pavilion x2 and takes me to onenote when I click the top button of the pen, but the screen does not react when i try to use the pen to click anything or draw anything. It worked when I first got it and suddenly stopped. Please help. Very frustrating.

Okay so I just bought an hp notebook with Windows 10 for school it says the brightness is all the way up but the screen is black and the only way I can see the screen is if I shine a flashlight on the screen in a dark room. I need help anyone?

I'm sorry if this is on the wrong board, I don't know exactly where this fits into. It started about 6 days ago. When it's plugged into my TV through an HDMI cable, for around 20 minutes at least, my laptop's screen turns black for a few seconds and then it's at the log-in screen. When I log back in, the laptop won't show anything on the TV anymore. All the applications open before this happens are closed, so I guess it restarts my device. Only when I'm connected to my TV through an HDMI cable. I've been doing this for months and never had a problem before. When I'm playing video, the audio is still playing through my TV, while the screen is black. It stops when the log-in menu comes up. I didn't download anything around the time before this started happening. To fix it I have to restart my laptop. Every HDMI cable I tried did not work. Thanks and please help, this is really annoying. If it helps, there is no Sleep option for my laptop when I click on the power button in the start menu.

When I open the power point it asks me to configure the graphics card. Says the resolution is not matching.

I tried to update using windows update that to failed and i tried AMD auto detect tool that to not detecting my graphics card. Hello all,

I have a new HP Spectre 15'. I have a major problem with the display and how windows are presented. Elements on windows are so close to each other and sometimes overlap. I have tried changing the resolution but problem still persists. I am going to attach a picture to show exactly what the problem is. I will like to know what the best display settings is for a 15.6 4k display laptop.

Hello,

I'm having trouble installing the Nvidia drivers for my GT 750m on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I followed the installation procedure suggested by Nvidia with no good results (the system always finished on a black screen after the reboot) and also many links in internet. None of them made good results. At this point I don't know if this is even possible...Although it would be nice to have my Nvidia running with CUDA enabled too!!.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Crazy characters on my laptop screen

From time to time I get characters that are blacked out on my screen. I took this laptop to Best Buy Geek Squad 2 weeks ago.

Said it was fixed. While I was there the same thing happened again. So Geek Squad sent it to KY for repair. Got it back yesterday and today I'm trying to set it up and again, its doing the same thing.

Anybody else having the same issues? I have several print screens if you have to see them.

GTA:V uses wrong GPU

So, I have an HP Pavilion 15 L3S53EA with 8GB of RAM, AMD APU A8-6410 2.0GHz CPU, AMD R7 M260 GPU and integrated R5 GPU.

Recently I installed GTA:V and I noticed in settings of the game it shows that there is 1024mb of VRAM that can be used.

But, my R7 M260 GPU has 2048mb and my R5 has 1024mb of VRAM, and I also got GPU-Z and when I ran the game, I checked the sensors and only my R5 GPU was used.

How do I make GTA:V use my R7 M260 GPU?

stylus compatible with HP pavilion x360

I am trying to find a stylus that is compatible with my touchscreen laptop so i can use it for onenote and things like that. I've tried a few styluses like the surface pen that didnt work and was very unresponsive.

My laptop is: HP Pavilion x360 (Model: 13-s060-sa)

if anyone knows of or has found a stylus that works with this model i would be very grateful to know what it is. I was looking at the HP Active Pen but this model wasnt in the compatibility list.

Also, does anyone know how to calibrate the screen so it will work better with a stylus?

I wish to use a generic stylus or a good stylus pen with on the touch screen. USe it to edit , comment on documents with MS -Word, .pdf and other Application software like BAmboo Paper. Please recommend which stylus should I buy in India?

Second the touch screen is 15.6" diagonal FHD IPS WLED-backlit touch screen (1920 x 1080) using Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - 10 point touch OS . IS the touch screen CAPACITIVE or RESISTIVE? Meaning thereby : which would be the best stylus pen that would work on it?

Have upgraded my Laptop to Win 10 after launch, Was using it till last 10 days, Now started facing problem with Graphic Display driver AMD Radeon HD6300M Series, The Office 2013 getting corupted and need to keep on doing recovery, Microsoft helped me giving the plane installation of Win10 after I contacted them.

Now I disabled the AMD and kept the Intel(R) HD Graphic on but It is giving me stretched screen after I restarted the Laptop. Spent sleepless night searching for the solution. It is asking AMD activation, If I make it "Enable" then there is conflict between two Graphic system resulting into crashing.

Can somebody help me in getting the solution.

HDMI connection to Samsung TV nit working anymore

I recently had to upgrade my HP Elitebook 820 G1 to Windows 10 and since then the connection to my Samsung TV (UE55HU7200) via HDMI cable it is not working anymore. I purchased the original HP DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter months ago and with it it was working fine. When I now try to do the same the screen on my TV turns black and also the laptop screen turns black (even though the settings are set to 'duplicate screen'). Every 5-10 seconds the laptop screen shows the desktop again, but only for less then a second.

Every suggestion will be much appreciated!

What did I try so far:

-all windows updates done

-HP display driver update installed

-intel update installed

My laptop probably suffered some damage within the couple years that I have had it but never had any running problems with my baby. I recently went to turn my computer on and the screen stayed black. The fan is still running and LED lights are still lit so I do not know what the problem is. I think it could be the monitor but I do not have an external monitor to test it on.

I know that I am running on the Windows 10 OS but I am not sure if it is 32-bit or 64-bit

Hi, I recently got a new laptop which is a HP Probook. I cant turn the brightness up on my laptop and I dont know why. I hold down the FN button and press F6 but it doesnt turn the brightness up. I am sorry if this is a silly question but I really need help (also I know you have answered this question before but it didnt help with my problem) If you could reply soon I will be very thankful.

It also doesnt have anything to FN because I can do eveything else becasue turning up the brightness
