I recently updated my Laptop HP pavilion dv7, since that my graphic card amd mobility radeon hd 5000 series won't work, but my "normal" graphic card work amd mobility radeon 4200. The Amd 5000 shows always code 43, pls I need help. I alredy tried deleting the software and reinstall it.

I recently had the misfortune of screwing up my Win7 installation beyond repair, restore points corrupted, you name it. To the point, I began from scratch and have caught up pretty reasonably.
I noticed a new graphic driver previously not released while I was busy destroying my previous Win7 installation, and upon installing it discovered that every time I completed the installation, it would reboot, flash a few times (which video driver installations tend to do), then Aero would be turned off and a popup would say a restart was necessary due to 'changes made.'
So I would restart, and even before I could login, I saw the flashing taking place as the login screen loaded. Upon logging in, there it was again, 'restart due to changes.'
This happened seven times. I finally loaded a restore point from before it and things are fine now. Here is a screenshot of iolo System Mechanic and Windows Update's visual of the driver. I know my ProBook has interchangable GPU capabilities which has been the source of quite a bit of stress, so I wondered if this simply wasn't meant for my particular laptop, but I would like some insight from the community.

Can anyone verify or offer some insight to a very confused user of an otherwise amazing machine? I always like to have the best graphic drivers possible for the gaming this laptop is capable of running (D3 at impressive FPS, WoW too.)

our HP TouchSmart 23 All-in-one was working fine until this morning. Now the screen appears to be in a constant refresh mode. It is not usable. I can see parts of the windows display but that flicker off but mostly just colors and patterns.
I don't even know where to start troubeshooting this. HP says it is not under warranty. If I try to boot from another device (CD or thumd drive) I get the same thing. I unplugged the keyboard and even the screen that show the keyboard error was flashing and scrolling to the point of almost being unreadable.

Now issue is that i am not getting drivers and catalyst controle center for this graphic card from amd site, and on hp support this is what i found

Nothing is mentioned for AMD Radeon (TM) HD 8670M, on HP support. So my graphic card has no existance in the system. which i have bought for the amd, HP pls sort it out asap. Thank you.
Hi. Last week and prior mths HDMI connection worked, TV had sound. This weekend, 8-20-16, TV sound went away but still had video. Looked at forums, utube and did the control panel sound device manager. the Digital Display Audio-AMD High Definition Audio Device; not plugged in is grayed out. clicked on it to no avail. the set default is also grayed out so i cant even set a default. PC speakers do work. bought a new HDMI cable but no change. all the drivers are up to date. not really sure what happened. worked for months and now no sound. any idea????
My girlfriend recently found out that her laptop was supposed to be a touchscreen device, but has not been able to use the functionality. I went thru a few troubleshooting steps to try and potentially fix the problem but the touchscreen doesn't even show up on the Device Manager under HID. I have been trying to find some potential drivers for the touchscreen for this device but I have not had any luck. Are there any drivers? Could the screen have been replaced with a non touch one and windows is recognizing it and doesn't even allow for the drivers to be used? TIA
How to get external monitor signal?
I got a notebook pavilion dv7 with broken lcd. I could turn on , boot and see in a small region of that broken lcd, windows starting but nothing can be done there. Also i can see a fraction of bios screen when function key is pressed on boot.
However i have no signal on tv, neither using monitor-vga cable nor hdmi port.
what can i do to use my tv as monitor since it says no signal?
I tried to remove the lcd in hope to do it works but i failed.
I thought all external monitors just needed to be pluged to start without any other configuration.
I use windows to go, that is my system (windows 10 x64bit) on usb ssd drive enclosure.
but the cpu temperature is too high, and cause very slow

Last winter purchased a convertible lenovo laptop. The first one had faulty hinges, I had it replaced on the same day I brought it in and the second one had faulty hinges and a faulty touchpad. So, I decided to ditch the cheaper computers and splurged on a HP spectre x360 from Best Buy. I live 200 kilometres away from large retail stores like this so getting back and forth is quite difficult, Staples was very understanding about the Lenovo laptops, however Best Buy told me there was nothing I could do when I described the problems I was having with my brand new HP. Several months went by and I avoided using the computer as much as possible in order to avoid facing the mistake I made in purchasing it. Eventually, my old computer became completely obsolete and I had no choice but use this HP.
My problems were not limited in any way. They ranged from an extremely annoying touchpad that sounded loose and made strange noises, the fact that the screen was closing on an odd angle, and the fact the the screen could barely stay open. A slight touch or even shifting the laptop would cause the screen to move. I could forgive these flaws if I had abused this computer or if it had received heavy usage, however I barely even turned the thing on. I contacted HP support and I must admit that they were polite, friendly and had my return materials sent very quickly.
My first bad sign involving the shipping process was the fact that there were materials missing from the box they sent which I then had to find a way around myself. My second issue is that they forced me to use UPS to ship it... from a rural area with no local UPS dealer. Then when it got back after well over a week my problems continued. My touchpad has improved, however it is still frustrating to use. Even though I described my issues with the screen, they did not appear to have even looked at it.
I am at the point now where I cannot go without a computer as school starts again in only a couple weeks and I need a computer. I am extremely disappointed in the build quality of this premium product and I fear it may have turned me off from buying HP computers again.
For the same money I could have bought a variety of other computers with reputations of being much more helpful when it comes to these sorts of issues. I really wanted to like this computer, however I just can't bring myself to do it. If a HP service rep reads this post, don't waste your time in responding, I have no choice but keep and use this product - no matter how much it's manufacturing flaws or the company behind it annoys me.

I own a HP Pavilion g6 1200-tx bought in 2011 with specs Core i3-2330M @2.2 Ghz, AMD Radeon 6470M, 4GB RAM etc
According to my knowledge when I updated driver for the Radeon Graphics 2 years ago, gaming performance fell and I wanted to revert the installation, but I coudnt. Yesterday when I found a new update, I went forward with it. But, as the installation process was going on, due to a power failure in my locality the laptop had to rely on its battery and subsequenlty it went out before the installaltion process finsihed (at that time it was installling AMD Radeon Display Driver). When I switched it back on the resoltion was in 800x600 and the Windows 7 Home Basic theme had turned into Windows 7 Basic. The surpise was that when AMD auto detect software read my GPU has AMD Radeon 7400M and every process experianced lag and disturbance. I really dont know what to do and the system restore in my notebook is not able to revert to the stage befroe the installation either. PLS PLS PLS HELP...........

I have an HP Pavilion 15-bc000nx with Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 and a dedicated GTX 960M (4gb). I want to use the HDMI out to use my (1080p) TV as a monitor to watch a movie or play a game while closing the laptop lid. When I do so, the game becomes very laggy and slow (unplayable).
When I run Fraps it give me 60 fps !!!!
This happens also when I open the lid and choose duplicate displays and adjust the resolution to 1080p, as well as when I close the lid and choose show display 2 only (the TV). In both cases.
When I play the game while duplicating displays it runs ultra smooth on the laptop display and at the same time still laggy and jittery on the TV, yet both diplays give 60 fps !!!!
I am sure it is not a hardware problem, but how to solve this problem?? Any kind of adjustments or settings I can modify?
(N.B. I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the new ones for both intel and nvidia from HP website, also I tried another TV)

Just got my notebook and the only annoying thing is that the touchpad is really loose. I am sure that the touchpad is'nt supposed to wobble with just a slight bit of pressure. Are there any fixes to this or should I send it back.
I have installed the S140U driver for Win10 (64 Bit) OS, but it continually says "AddOn_OSD.exe has stopped working." I have this installed on a Surface 3 tablet with 4GB RAM. I have uninstalled and tried to run with the 32 Bit version as well, but still get the same error message. I have noticed it has installed this EXE into the root of my C:\ drive, and it does not give an option to install elsewhere. Any one have thoughts or ideas on how to get this to work? Thanks.
I recently purchased a 6460B for DJ'ing purposes. It has a Intel HD Graphics 3000 Sandy Bridge Graphics system. Apparently there are issues with this graphics system, a bug which Intel has never fixed. I quote from the software manufacturer I am looking at using;
"WARNING! Some variants of the Intel HD Graphics Device have a known bug within the associated device drivers that may cause serious instability issues (crashes) while attempting to playback videos utilizing DirectShow video playback technology. If you intend to utilize CompuHost on a computer that incorporates such a device we strongly recommend that you first install the Evaluation version and give it a thorough test drive to ensure reliability prior to purchase!"
Apparently this issue is somewhat widespread in the Intel HD Graphics line, regardless of dual monitor use or not as the DirectShow failure is apparent on even single screen use. The screen flickers constantly or just doesn't show any images. Is Intel planning on correcting this error? It can be seen in Compuhost, any version and Swift Elite V4.
The laptop has 4gb RAM and a 500gb hard drive. I should also add that although failures are different, the failure of the HD 3000 is consistent when it comes to DirectShow. The Laptop is running the most recent BIOS F63a and I did the F61 to update the video firmware. The problem was present before F61, during F61 and after F61, and F63. Obviously this problem has not been addressed by Intel during the life of the product.

This is a simple statement about the support I received from HP's phone support. I had a HP Spectre with a cracked display. The video output was fine but touchscreen support did not work. I called up HP to find out if the glass could be replaced without needing to replace the LCD. I was assured this was doable. I got the glass panel and proceeded to take apart the laptop. What HP failed to inform me about is the glass panel is glued directly to the LCD making it all but impossible to remove. So at this point I've damaged the entire display assembly so much that it is no longer usable and instead of a $90 part, I'm forced to get a $250 part.
This is not to say that HP is always providing insufficient information. I've had plenty of decent dealings with them in the past and appreciate their support. However in the future I would expect such details about a repair be offered up rather than me finding out after I've damaged the computer more than in necessary.
