1) A couple of months ago 3 vertical lines have appeared on left of laptop screen.  Then the last couple of weeks all of a sudden the entire screen turns into a grey color with vertical lines.  Happened three times already and don't know what to do.  Not too computer saavy (I'm a senior) and will bring it in for repair but I don;t want to get cheated and want to be at least knowledgeable on what it might be.  Read something about an inverter (don't know what this means).  When this happens I obviously turn off the pc wait a couple of minutes and turn it back on.  Just do not know what is causing this.

 

Perhaps I need to change the screen, is this costly?

 

2) Also I'm on a wireless network and the pages sometimes have a delay in loading or it says it's not connected.  Have called my provider and they do not know what the problem is.  Fox six mos their service worked fine, all of a sudden it doesn't and of course they blame my pc.  Would anyone know why this would happen intermittently ?

Initially I was facing a problem wherein the keys A,S,D,F and some other keys were not working. The mousepad was also not working fine.

 

I searched the net and got a page that suggested hard reset. Hence, I did the following

Step 01. Turned OFF the Notebook

Step 02. Un-plugged the Power/AC Adapter and also removed the Battery

Step 03. Pressed and Held the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute

Step 04. Re-inserted the battery back in 

 

As soon as I re-inserted the battery, the following happened

Power button with LED indicator - is continuously on
Battery charging LED indicator - is continuously on
Power/standby LED indicator - is continuously on

Screen is blank. Nothing is displayed on screen

 

If I remove the battery the lights shut down. As soon as I put the battery the lights are on. Pressing the power button continuouslt doesn't help. Can someone please help in resolving the issue and starting my laptop.

When the notebook lid is closed and a monitor is connected via USB, the control panel settings for auto-screen off have no effect and the monitor always goes blank if keyboard / mouse not used for approx 2 minutes. There is no problem when the notebook lid is open and this is definitely not a problem with the  monitor switching itself off.

Hi There,

 

I have a problem finding my HP webcam. I read the previous questions and tried them all, (e.g.: Device manager and installing driver from HP website), nothing works. However I cannot find the webcam in my device manager / maybe I just am not looking currently.

 

Can anyone help me with this please?

I have an HP envy, with an external monitor. It has been running on Windows 10 perfectly fine, and last night ran an HP update, since then it cannot detect the external monitor. 

have tried restarting many times, and have taken battery out too. 

 

Help please!

Unable to use the mouse at all which means i am constanty having to use the touchscreen on the laptop. Any help on how to get my mouse to work again would be very much appreciated

Hi all,

 

I've bought recently a HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 and also an adapter to use on the usb-c port to connect my DVI screen.

 

The Adapter:

 

Ligawo

 

When I connect the adapter on my HP the following notification appears:

 

"The display por could not work.Please try another cable".

 

Does anyone know what this is about ?

My friend's kid stuck my mouse inside my laptop and closed the screen on it. Then my kid climbed on it. Now the LCD appears to be cracked (but not the glass.) I am able to use it by connecting it to my TV with an HDMI cord, but I need a replacement screen. I need the part number for the screen and instructions for removing the screw covers on the bevel, please.

I have spent hours trying to resolve this issue and thought I had but it is now happening intermittently.  When booting up, the HP logo comes on and then the screen goes black with NO mouse cursor.  The only way to get the PC to boot is to press the power button until it goes off and then press it again and then the lock screen appears.  However, this does not happen every time now.  I have updated everything I can, drivers from HP, drivers from Microsoft.

 

Any ideas?

Hello Team,

 

I have a question yesterday my HP laptop stopped working and check the laptop. I took it to HP service center.

 

The engineer checked the laptop and told me that the issue is with the graphics card. We will require to change the graphics card.

 

I want to know as per my knowledge the HP D103TX has on board 2GB Nvidia graphics card.

 

Further if the onboard graphics card is not working we cannot replace the graphics card.

 

If the above is true then what the technician said is not true.

 

I want to know is it possible to replace the graphics card on HP D103 TX with the new one.

I have the same problem when i was on windows 7 i can see in my display adapter that its AMD i upgraded to windows 10

and i tried to see the amd control panel i suddenly found the it is disabled ...  and no display connected to it  http://imgur.com/a/jB6CU 

 

Please help me this laptop is new and im so scared something happened to the AMD card

Hi,

 

I recently bought my HP Envy laptop about a year ago and I have used it moderatly for school and work. I made sure to buy the included GTX 950m Graphics Card so I could play some of my steam games and I am just starting to realize some degredation in my laptop's performance. I am not talking about degredation from when I bought the laptop until now but I'm talking about simply playing a game and having some amazing performance (Graphics on Med-High and about 50-60 fps) but after like 5 minutes of gaming it slowly starts to dip to like 14-15fps. In particular, I tried playing Overwatch today and had some amazing gameplay for the first 5 minutes however I dropped down to 15fps and it was barely playable. I tried changing the resolution and that seemed to have fixed it however the same issue happened after five minutes again.  I have no idea why my laptop would do this especially since I have not really used it as much for gaming this past year and I am sure to maintian computer performance by updating drivers, restarting often, and defraging.

 Periodically the cursor will anchor at the bottom left of the screen - in the Cortana Zone - and a box or circle will appear.  If I move the mouse it will display intermittantly where it is on the screen but the cursed cursor in the Cortana Zone stays lit and blinking.  Only fix is a reboot.

 

Before you ask... I have Support Assistant, My drivers ARE up to date and I've been searching the web for a solution.

Hi,

i have a problem  with installing the graphical driver for my notebook

i have tried to install a lot of drivers (intel HD, Nvidia) but i still see no graphical card available, and when i launch for example a simple game as solitaire it launchs but says that the material acceleration is disabled and the game turns slowly...

so has anyone an idea or a driver for my graphic card

These are the information of my pc :

WINDOWS 7 64Bits

Processor : Intel Core i3 3110M

MotherBoard : Hewlett-Packard 21BC 39.15

4GB OF RAM

intel HD graphic 4000

Brand new hp 250 g4 driver problem.  instaled win 7 64 , used hp Support assistant for drivers and istaled shipset, integrated vga driver then amd r5 m330, and so on . Now im getting alot of windows explorer crashes , graphics preforms very bad. I would like to know the right drivers for chipset , integrated vga and this r5 m330 . Ty
