When I open my laptop after hibernating sometimes, maybe half the time, the backlight doesn't come on. I can see just about that the login screen is there, and usually if I turn the laptop off and restart it can come back on. Any idea how I fix this?

screen continued to get dimmer each time used. then went dark I can still see my screen when daylight is on it. Tryed to turn up screen brightness but did nothing.

I am the owner of an HP Pavilion DV7T-7000. I bought it this past August, and the warranty will still be in effect for a while. However, mid December of 2013, the screen began to act up. I suspect the graphics card, but I was not foolish enough to void the warranty and work on it myself. So I called HP, and told them. They said it needed to be sent in for a repair. I sent it in, and I got it back today.
When I got it back, I turned on the system. The problem was still there! It was slightly fixed, but it was still there. I called HP, and they said I'd need to send it in...again. However, after using the laptop all day, I am unable to re-create the problem again.
The problem was still there when I had gotten it today, but now it seems to have gone away. Should I still send it in? My thoughts are that if I can't re-create the issue, they probably can't either. To my knowledge, they didn't fix it. I haven't heard of any hardware repair, that will go away in time.
What should I do?
Also, if you're wondering what type of issue I'm having it looks like this.
The problem only happens when you open/close the hinges on the laptop. It's probably as simple as a wire isn't fully plugged in, but I'd rather leave it to the "professionals"
the HDMI of my Folio 13-1020us seems broken. I used it for presentation and another screen as expanded mode.
Just suddently it can not work. I downloaded the display driver and installed it, in case the driver is broken for some reasons, but still can not sense another monitor using HDMI.
Any clues for this issue?
Hello, everyone! I have a two year old HP G62-460TX notebook which has started to display some barcode like lines across the screen from top to bottom. Image below for clearer discription.
The lines started appearing about a minute or two after I tried the led.vbs trick (http://www.coolhackingtrick.com/2012/01/keyboard-dancing-led-light-trick.html) although I don't think it had anything to do with it. It automatically appears as soon as I start my pc (when the hp logo appears, before os loads) and tends to change colour slowly. They started last night and when I switched my pc on today, they were gone but only until the login screen came. After that, whether I restarted it or tried anything else, they were there.
I hooked to an old CRT monitor that I had and everything displays fine on the CRT but notebook screen is still a mess. Oh! One more thing, Before connecting it to the CRT monitor, only about two thirds of the screen was malfunctioning.
System Specs: Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 Graphics Card (dxdiag info), intel core i3 2.4ghz processor.

I am using HPtrue vision cyberlink webcam for windows 8. Now the screen is in slowmotion. First I thought it had something to do with the connection, but this is not the case. I tried to make some changes and since then when I use the webcam its showing slowmotion. What do I have to do to change this?
my pc started flickering 2 days ago. I have checked drivers, etc to no avail. help
My laptop has the lower resolutions display (1366x768), but I'd like to upgrade to an HD+ one (1600x900) or event FHD (1920x1080). Can I just purchase the part and replace it myself? Or are there special things I'll need to do in order to make this work? Update driver, etc..?

does anybody know of a way I can up the max screen res from 1366x768, the intel drivers can go above that and I find I find it hard to believe the screen (in this day and age) can't support anything higher
its my only gripe with the laptop and I find it infuriating at times :(
All drivers up to date uninstalled and reinstalled
But keep getting message that there's a problem with the display adapter ATI radeon graphics card can anyone help

My screen auto-dims with respect to content displayed, if the page is white backgrond, it increases the brigness and if the content is black, it reduces the brightness. It is very annoying to see this change happen every time i change the screen and while playing videos, it becomes blur in middle and returns to normal. Please let me know where i need to change these settings, i tried turning off the adaptive display in advanced power options but that did not work.

i have a DV 9700 Windows Vista Home
Computer will not start.
The screen remains blank and beeps once.
It did this a couple times then showed the boot menu,
attempted to start in safe mode but would not start.
Seems like grafics.
Removed the hard drive, it is readable and operating system seems intack.
Recovery disc do not work. No recovery tasks work, even complete factory recovery.
Had the computer for 5 years, still in good condition. Any ideas would be helpful.

My HP G62 Notebook PC has an HDMI port that has NEVER worked. I found posts at the forum of this model PC where the HDMI just stops working at some moment. Mine has never worked and I tried a lot to fix this.
I think I have the right settings for my laptop resolution (highest - 1366 x 768), and connecting through a VGA cable is always perfectly working. OS is Windows 7. Has this something to do with my video card (ATI Mobility Radeon 5470 I think.. )?

I'm having problems with the graphic card driver/switchable graphics drivers.
I tried to update the AMD graphics card (Radeon HD 6490M) but no solution there. When I clicked on the graphics card I get this message in the device status:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)."
I manage to enable the driver and things seem to work. However the biggest problem is when the monitor goes to sleep it does not come back... It needs a reboot to display and an error message is displayed upon startup:
"The Catalyst Control Centre is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your AMD graphics driver, or enable your AMD adapter using the Displays Manager."

ever since i've upgraded to windows 8.1, my video card has been wonky. when i connect to my LG tv, i can't get it to stretch to the whole screen. i usually get an inch or two of black screen on every side. i've tried updating the driver software for the processor, video card, looked into the LG support website to see if there was something wrong with the TV...nothing. i've adjusted all of my display settings and still haven't gotten it to do what i want. when i open my "AMD vision control center" program, the display properties tabs have been deleted. i had them in windows 8...but not 8.1. no idea what's going on. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi . I am not a technical person so please bear with me. I have a HP dV7 notebook with an i7 2670 QM processor. it is the graphics card i am confused about. When i look in device manager under display adapters it says - Intel (R) HD graphics Family . and then underneath that, it says - Radeon (TM) 7470 M. - when i load dxdiag it just says the Intel part. Now, I am having some problems in on online game I play and a colleg saueys its down to the intel Family graphics card being 'rubbish' .
How do i get it to play using the Radeon one?

I've upgraded my tx2627cl touch screen laptop to Win8.1, now the touch screen no longer works. I cannot find any drivers for the touch screen. Any help?
