Hi All
I have removed ubuntu and installed Windows 10 with all the latest drivers from HP website. I have an issue that my fn+f9/f10 neither dims nor brightens my display.
On charge it is full brightness but dims when on battery only. In settings it says both charge and battery are on maximum brightness.
Any Suggestions please?

I have purchased a new HP ENVY Notebook - 14-j007tx and upgraded the OS to Windows 10.
It was working fine for the first 3 days.
Now, everyday atleast once when I use Chrome, the laptop screen goes blank.
I can see that the keyboard is on and I can hear sounds when I press random keys on keyboard.
The finger print sensor and the Processor seems to be running, but the screen is still blank.
I did a force restart by pressing the power button down for like 20 seconds. That fixes the issue temporarily, but the issue crops up again after some hours.
Any suggestions on what must be causing this? My laptop is just 7 days old..

I bought this laptop as a second hand laptop and the guy who sold it to me formatted all of the computer. Therefore all of the previously installed drivers and OS was erased. He installed windows 8.1, got all the drivers from Driverpack Solution but the laptop got two versions of graphics drivers. One is Intel HD graphics 3000 and the other one is AMD Radeon 6700M series. Both of which are installed, properly recognized by the system and running at the same. But the computer somehow would only use the Intel graphics and discard the other one. I tried uninstalling the Intel Graphics and only use the AMD but when I rebooted the pc it seemed like the computer doesnt have a grahics driver at all. I right click with my mouse at the desktop and clearly I can enter the AMD catalyst control center and it shows that it has the 6700M graphics but the computer is not actually using it at all. It would only use Intel Graphics
I tried downloading the latest version of the AMD driver and install it but it doesnt work either.
So whats the problem here?

When we try to connect HP Chromebooks 11 to our projectors (Epson), we get an unstable signal. We use an adapter, HDMI-VGA and it works well with other projectors. After contact with the supplier of projectors, we expanded the projectors with a combined switch/gain from hdmi-vga of all projectors in the school. With an amplified signal, it works better, the picture may run for a few minutes before it disappears (blue screen) and then returns. Depending on the type of file it works better or worse, a Google presentation has less interference than streaming video from SVT Play.
We dont have any problems with connecting pc or iPads
How can we solve this problem?

I have a big major display problem in HP Pavilion dv6767tx with Intel Core2duo paired with nVidia graphics. Its display is divided into 6 parts that too are blurred with lines because of this problem I am not able to use. The problem started one day as I was working on the computer and it suddenly got stuck during my work and then restarted itself but with this display problem. All the LEDs, fan and everything is working except the display. This problem is on BIOS menu too. And now is restarting itself after every 15 minutes.
The steps I tried are:
P.S. I also gave it to repair once then I got it back working for 2500INR and it again stopped working in 2 months.
yesterday when i was open my laptop right side hinge broken. same case with my other two friend. and it is ocureid after end of warranty periord. i think it is a manufacturing defect. so same problem more number of hp laptop customer. what is the procedure to repair my laptop hinfe?? give solution and i am waiting for your kind co- operation. why i am chossing hp?? if the company not enough support?? and same problem with othres.

I faced the exactly the same " hinge" broken on the right side. I am so disappointed. It broken just six- seven month after my warranty expired.
I never drop it. I used it as study laptop.

I am getting the following error when I startup a certain app.
"There is a problem with the Microsoft.NET installation. Please uninstall and reinstall all versions of the Microsoft.NET Framework."
This app was work fine just days ago. I see no way to uninstall net framework.
My laptop had display issue with the original screen that I had, there were vertical colored line and stuff, one day the screen just stopped working, but I could still see images that were dim. The backlight stopped working.
I ordered a new screen, that was compatible,because I was told thhat screen was dead. I attach the screen and everything and boot my laptop, but the backlight still isn't turning on. HELP!!!!

My G7 Pavilion apparently has the same issues as other owners of the same model. The casing has separated. The left hinge has not worked properly for some time. Now my screen has quit working. I am utilizing my TV as my screen at this point, however, this is not convenient. I would like to know how HP plans to resolve this issue for me and others as well.

Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.
Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following:
-Runs
-Asks for permission
-Install it
-Finishes installing
-Runs the program's window
-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears.
I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THING
Restored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING
So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing.

Lately, I've had lots of problems watching any kind of video... even a 1 minute video clip. Basically, my PC just starting freezing a little when trying to watch any video.
Then, the BSOD finally happened at it said the problem was with atikmpag.sys. After that, I can only boot in safe mode. Doing lots of research on this problem, someone suggested that the atikmpag.sys file says the file isn't validated. Sure enough, I can see that. All other files are fine in the directory except for that one. So, the suggestion was to rename the file to .OLD and reboot. Sure enough, PC comes up now. But, as expected, the display adapters in the device manager both say they couldn't be loaded (Intel HD Graphics and Radeon HD 6470M).
Did more research on how to best get new versions. Watched the HP video (on a different computer) and it says to just go into device manager and select "update driver" for these. Unfortunately, Windows decided that both of these are up to date and won't download over the corrupted files/directories (even though it tells me that something is wrong with the display adapters when I just look at the General tab). For completeness, it says the problem is code 39.
So, I need to update manually from the HP driver page. I guess I want the Intel HD Graphics Driver from November 2011 (my current one is July 2011). But, because it's the graphics driver that is messed up, I can't get this option from my laptop that has the problem. I can see it on a different laptop, though.
Bottom line is that I'm looking for instructions that will allow me to download the driver (I'm guessing) to a flash drive attached to a different computer and then correctly transferring that driver to the broken PC. My biggest concerns are to 1. not mess up the functioning PC and 2. figuring out if I need to "uninstall" and then "install" from the flash drive and do I do that on bring up (i.e. have the flash drive in the slot on boot up) or do I do that after the system is already up.
So, can someone point me to instructions to get the display driver downloaded and loaded on the correct PC?

I recently upgraded to Win 10 and now the Intel HD 3000 graphics adapter doesn't work properly. The processor is the i5-2467M.
I've uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it from Windows Update and the problem remains.
I've used the zip download from Intel and pointed the device manager at that folder and it installed the driver and it has the same problem.

I have one additional screen added using the HDMI port in my HP 15-R074TU. There are no any additional VGA or HDMI available. I am not sure if my graphics card is supporting one more screen or not. Is there any way I can add on more screen to my laptop?

My config is this: AMD APU A8 6410 Quad core (2.0 gHz) with integrated Radeon R5 Graphics, 8 GB RAM, AMD R7 M260 with 2 GB DDR3 running on Windows 10 64bit. I have got all the necessary drivers installed along with AMD's Catalyst Center. Now here's the thing: I think my Notebook uses ONLY Integrated GPU even if I set an application to High performance in the Catalyst. I figured that out when I tried to play overwatch . See, when the game starts on EVERY setting to LOW, i don't even have 30fps. And I think my dedicated GPU can handle that game no problem.I saw the youtubers plaing overwatch with R7 M260 fluently
I searched for a solution on HP Forums and elsewhere online, and in the end, the only solution was to switch from Dynamic to Fixed option in the BIOS. Well, I don't have that option in my BIOS.
Then, I even tried disabling the integrated GPU in device manager but then my screen lowers its resolution, and it seems like the system doesn't recognize the integrated GPU.
I don't know what to do. Please, help.

I bought the 17" HP Envy Laptop w/touchscreen, but when I use the touchscreen , I often bump the new Airplane button, killing WiFi. I can't believe HP didn't product test this new keyboard layout, but if they had, they would have quickly found the 1-touch Airplane Mode button is NOT user friendly.
Anyway, I thought I'd ask if anyone knows if this button can be disabled. It's a nice laptop, but it goes back this weekend if I can't fix this. (Grrrrr......grumble...... grumble.)
