Had various problems with this laptop. In January before my warranty expired I sent it back to have it fixed.
I did not use my laptop DVD player until April waaaay after warranty had expired. I don't know what was done to the laptop top but last month I tried to play my regular DVD's---nothing worked. The company Cyberlink asked for a key or upgrade my DVD player. I have no idea where I would be able to find the key for this DVD player that came with the laptop when I purchased it at HP.com. I had a relative tell me that when they reinstalled everything apparently it affected the DVD. My relative who was visiting at the time said he installed a trail period to use an upgrade of Cyberlink, but I will have to purchase an upgrade. In reading about upgrading does a laptop DVD player need to be upgraded through the years you own this laptop? All I want to do is play my DVD's that I was able to play last year. Can someone explain this to me. I only use my computer for email, DVD watching and research. I don't do any gaming because this is just your basic laptop. I am so disappointed in this laptop. I have had problems with this laptop from the time I bought it. I am wondering if I should go and buy my next laptop at HP's competitor. Please help and thank you so much in advance.
