I purchased two Dell E2216H monitors to use with my laptop. They come with VGA & DP connections so I purchased a DP to HDMI cable to connect one of the monitors to my laptop. When I do that it will not recognize the monitor.
Any asistance would be greatly appreciated. I know the cable should work so I'm not sure what I am missing

When I open an Excel file on my desktop I get the message that says "unable to read this command" or something like that. I have excel spreadsheets up on my desktop, and when I double click on one of the icons I normally get this message. It is frustrating because I am forced go to File, Open, and click on the title of the icon that I want to open. I have copied these spreadsheets from my PC which has Microsoft Office 2003, but since I have copied only the data I would not think that would make any difference. Please help. Thank you.

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and since then, I have been receiving the following message while playing a game: "Display driver Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I checked my graphics driver and it said it was up-to-date. I have tried installling the latest drivers for my notebook model (as per the HP drivers page), the December 15, 2015 version installed with no problem, but did not fix the issue. An error message pops up when I try to install the March and April, 2016 versions of the graphics drivers, stating that they are not compatible with my computer.
I have also tried both the HP and Intel Driver update utilities and was told that my drivers are up-to-date. However, when I look at the properties for my Intel(R) HD Graphics Family in Device Manager, I notice that the information on the Events tab states: "Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A16&SUBSYS_227E103C&REV_0B\3&11583659&1&10 requires further installation."
I am not sure what needs updating on my computer or if this driver is incompatible with Windows 10 and there is not yet an upgrade? Any advice or guidance would be appreciated!
My computer model is the HP Pavilion 15-p050ca Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) model #: G6U13UA#ABL and the graphics driver is version #: 10.18.15.4279
can you please tell me if it is possible to upgrade my graphics card for gaming as my present one is very jerky at times. Thanks in advance.

My dv7 no longer uses the Geforce gt 630m. I have the latest display drivers/physx drivers. It is shown in device manager and the nvidia control panel but the option to choose in the Physx app is not there. I know the chip works because the display used to use it when I plugged in the adapter and the performance would improve greatly processing photos in Lightroom.

FIrst, how do I find the type of touch pad system I have?
So, after nearly 2 months of being ignored on HP support forums, not having a callback from HP in London, I've come to the realisation that HP support is not what it used to be.
my laptop, which is only 8 months old, has a broken touchpad and because I live in Italy, and there is no support there, I'm absolutely screwed.
Lesson learned, do not buy a HP product again. Biggest mistake I made.
My screen seems to have a loose connection. It turns off when tilted back. Just a gentle touch to the back of it turns on again but then shuts off. I have to tilt it forward for it to remain on. The computer remains on, just the screen goes blank.
Essentially, my laptop screen stays on after it is told to turn off.
A little more description:
My laptop, as well as an external monitor (via HDMI cable), are set to turn off after its alloted time (as directed in Display settings/Power & Sleep), but the laptop screen, though it clears the screen of any display, is still on--glowing black. It lights up the room, when the room is dark. The external monitor turns off correctly.
Power plan is set to "HP Optimized"
I have an NVIDIA Quadro K2100M, which is set to run the external monitor (from Display Adapter Properties), but the Microsoft Basic Display Driver runs the laptop screen. I would like the Quadro to run both screens, but cannot figure out how to do that, either.
Drivers are up to date.
Any ideas?

I recently purchased a HP ENVY Notebook - 15t-q400 CTO (ENERGY STAR) and reason is mainly cos it has the NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 950M graphics card and I'm a photographer and a video editor. I was surprised to see the main display is Intel HD 530. Though it also has the NVIDIA graphics present.
My question is, how do I make NVIDIA the default over the Intel. Photoshop is oly detecting the Intel as the detected graphics processor instead of the GeForce when I try to tweak the performance. This has gotten me seriously worked up

It seems i've cracked the digitizer on my laptop and now the touch function doesn't work properly. While the display still works fine there's a giant crack across the screen and it's really annoying. I had to disable the touch via Hardware Manager because it was really going haywire.
I keep trying to call the support number, 1.866.724.8600, (Case #3027953779) but the machine keeps telling me that it " can't connect me to anybody."
I don't understand. How can I get ahold of someone at HP so I can get this fixed?
Often when I move the mouse over the screen it causes the zoom level to increase or decrease.
It makes it hard to do anything.
Drives me crazy.
Also sometimes nothing happens when I click the mouse over a button or icon.
Amyone know whats going on?

got free upgrade to windows 10. everything ok after installing a samsung ssd in notebook somehow i noticed the blinking spinning cursor. how can i get rid of it.
I recently spilled water on my keyboard. Two diagonal rows of letters/numbers do not work: 1,Q,A,Z and 3,E, D, C. Tried taking apart as much of the case as I could, (no visible water inside) and blowing warm - not hot - air as far in as I could. No help. Any ideas on the problem or the cure?

i have a problem with my laptop its just turned blank and does not lights up the screen. as if backgroung lights are burnt. however when i charge it the light turns "on" and i can see everything on the desktop. please help i do not know what to do, and the PC didn`t fell down nor came into contact with any liquid.
