Touchscreen not working HP ENVY Sleekbook 4 Product number: D1A99UA#ABA
I got an HP ENVY TS Sleekbook 4, Product number: D1A99UA#ABA, for Christmas and updated it to Windows 8.1. When I just turned it on out of the box AND BEFORE I UPDATED IT TO WINDOWS 8.1, the touchscreen was not operational. I've been trying all day, I've attempted restarting it, updating drivers, installing new drivers, using windows update... But what's more strange is that in the the System info it states, "No Pen or Touch input is available for this display."
So not only does it not work, but Windows dosen't even recognize the touchscreen even though it is a touchscreen for sure. Also, there is no settings for the touch screen anywhere in the control panel. Please help soon!

No upgrades for my graphics driver for my HP Pavilion dv6 3118sa
I recently upgraded my HP Pavilion dv6-3118sa from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1.
There haven't been many issues since this upgrade, however for some reason the main graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470) doesn't recognise my laptop screen at all. Luckily it recognises other screens that are connected via the HDMI port, however I can't keep using my projector as a screen!
When I change the graphics card to Intel(R) HD graphics card I can see the laptop screen again. I have gone on the HP site and unsurprisingly it doesn't have any updates for 8.1 for my laptop. Another issue with this is that for some reason when I plug my laptop in it automatically switches to the high performance graphics, so I can't use it plugged in!
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

screen dim red, then dark, now black
Hi, I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1174ca and the display suddenly stopped working.
At first, during startup, it was dim and had a strong red tint. After a few minutes the display would then turn too dark to see.
So I checked for solutions online and tried unplugging the laptop and removing the battery for a while, then pressing and holding the power down while everything is off. Then plugging back only the power cord and seeing if that fixed it.
But it hasn't. Instead now the dim red tint display only appears for a second before turning not dark anymore but completely black.
Plugging the battery back does not revert or fix the behavior. I have seen in one forum post that it might help to try and drain the battery, but I have not tried it yet. The display failed a few weeks after purchasing a new battery for the laptop.
Considering these symptoms, what do you guys think I should do next? I am prepared to try and open up the laptop to test the various components to see and replace which ones might have failed. It would help greatly however if I could use your expertise on where the problem might be.
There is a video on youtube called "Diagnosing Faulty Laptop Backlight or Inverter Problem". Would that be a good approach?

Unrecognized PCI device/ bad video card drivers
Hey, so my device manager is showing me that I have an unregocnized PCI device, as well as a few other unrecognized things. I have tried updating the drivers but it hasn't worked :/ I believe that this is my video card because under the Display Adapters section, the only thing that pops up is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter". Can anyone possibly help me figure out how to update these drivers?

Blank Screen
I was playing fifa 14 and suddenly the laptop frozed so i turned it off by hard shut down, then i was trying to turn it on, i get the hp logo screen and the windows loading screen, but when i want to get the welcome screen it turns into black although i can hear the sound that it did startup, eventhough i tried to turn the laptop in safe mode and it did turn on normally and i could enter to the desktop and everything was ok, i face the problem when i turn the laptop in its normal way only.
i need a solution please for the problem.

HP Envy dv7-7250us Casing Damage

I've had my HP Envy dv7-7250us laptop since April 27, 2013, and I had always treated it with care. But earlier this week, on the right edge of my hinge, some teeth that keep the casing held together broke, and now when opening the laptop, the hinge causes the casing to give way, and while I don't use the following feature, the Kensington Lock is no longer usable, as the hole is no longer aligned with the casing.
I spent $750 on this, making it the most expensive PC in my house... I'm very happy with the PC's performance, but the casing really should have been designed to protect against hinge pressure...

video driver stopped responding

I have HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n071nr, OS Win 8. Bought it about 3 weeks ago, started use 5 days ago.
I started to get a mistake Video driver stopped responding and has recovered. And after that blue screen, unfortunately i can't say what was on it, it turned off quickly and notebook started to reset. Even if i'm just browsing or using skype everything was the same. I wanted to make an update to win 8.1, thought maybe this update will make things better. But it didn't. So i wanted to use recovery manager, but i didn't find it, it's like totally gone.
So i don't know what to do now. Maybe i can get recovery programm for my model of notebook.

ATI Radeon HD 7570 card on HP Pavillion HPE machine
Hello,
Well I have just about had it with this issue.
I installed the ATI Radeon card in subject line on an HP Pavillion desktop.
The problem started with the Catalyst controlo Center (CCC) not showing all of the options available in order to tweak 3D and and gaming settings.
One thing led to another and after doing a clean uninstall of all AMD drivers and folders, I was no longer able to install the card.
I then did recovery manager and reinstalled back to the settings when I fiorst bought this HP machine.
The card installed (not cleanly though) because after trying to install the latest AMD updates (13-12) it just would not update all the osftware and drivers.
Instead I had to update the driver through device manager and windows went online and installed a HD7570 driver dated from April 2012.
The CCC did come back by right clicking on the desktop, but alas, no other options available other than Pinned, Presets, Hydra Vision.
One other thing worth noting, the menu bar on this version of CCC shows the HP logo, not the AMD logo so it seems to be running a version of CCC that came factory installed.
Why is this so difficult ?
I want to use the most updated version of CCC which came form the AMD website so I can overclock, change 3D settings, etc....

Webcam
Hi,
I own a HP Envy M6 and up until very recently the webcam has been working perfectly fine.
The webcam is visible in device manager and is also visible in the settings of Cyberlink, youcam etc.
When a camera software (Youcam) is started the white light next to the webcam turns on to indicate the webcam is in use.
All drivers etc are up to date but I simply cannot see an image from any piece of software when using the webcam.
Extremely confused and frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I I have this driver update installed on my laptop but the Automatic Find HP Product services site and the HP Support Assistant doesn't see it on my laptop??? Why is this?? Only Recovery Manager sees it installed as an Update in the list
I have disabled the HP Support Assistant due to the software downloading multiable times automatically and this becomes very annoying if you have dialup and downloading with WiFi Hotspot is just too expensive so I use the Automatic Find HP site to download the installers for all the updates I need

Anyway, as you can see that the driver is clearly on my laptop and it is installed
I hope someone can tell me how or why this is happening, I am running out of patience...

Green and purple pixels ,Pavilion g6
Hi,
My HP Pavilion g6 screen is showing greem and purple pixels with green horizontal lines. This problem gets resolved occasionally only to reoccur after I shut down the laptop. Please help.

Resolution problem while playing games...
Whenever I start a game, no matter what the resolution settings are in the game, it will always be in full screen, which is 16:9 if I am not wrong. there is nothing wrong with playing in full screen, the issue is, the game Lags. I use to play battlefield in medium settings, it played fine, now it lags. But, when I switch to Best/maximum setting, it works like a charm...
Some games can be played in minimized Windows, and only then the graphic settings of the games are applied.
Even the Windows app games, from store, lags sometimes.
this happened suddenly after I restarted my laptop... not sure what I did before that reboot.
My laptop is HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC (E3B55PA)
All Graphic drivers are up-to-date. Hp Support Assistant is showing no updates.

Vista Pavillion dv 6627 om - web cam quit working
I was trying to Skpe someone and I could see them but they could not see me. My Webcam is not listed in my device manger file. I do have the recomended service pack installed....service pack 2. Was not able to determine if I need a driver update.

HP Pavilion Split 2X - Wont Turn On
I have a HP Slit 2X that I purchased about a month ago. I use ir for work and I ran the battery down pretty low right before the holidays. I put it in my bag and left it in my office through Christmas.
Now here I am back to work and it wont turn on. The base seems to be getting a charge as the light will start orange and then go to white, but the top appears to be getting no charge. I have split the tablet off and tried to just charge it, but I get no recognition with the light and after a full night with the power cord plugged into just the tablet I get nothing.
Help, please.
