Spectre x360 does not wake up Black screen

$

Hi fellow HP users and forum moderators,

I am using a Spectre X360 purchased in Australia and currently using it in Australia.

My problem is that the laptop sometimes does not wake up from sleep/hibernate. The screen is pitch black and keyboard lighting button is functional but I tried every single button on the keybpard and pressed the trackpad. Nothing happens or responds to this.

Is this a software issue? HP software or Windows 10 64bit issue?

Maybe a hardware like SSD playing up? My SSD is a Samsung 256GB one.

The only way to make my laptop work again is to press the on/off/sleep button for 5 seconds then it would force to shutdown then I press again to boot it up.

This is getting annoying. I am writing a report for university and suddenly after having a short break or so and opening my laptop the screen is black does not want to wake up.

Any solution(s) to this?

Thanks in advance!

Never mind. It fixed itself after rebooting.

Hi,

My laptop does not work with HDMI video output. It is connected to a projector via HDMI cable but the project says no signal. The laptop is connect to the bluetooth speakder for sound and to the projector for display.

My product number is G6R97UA#ABA.

I downloaded and tried to install sp72370.exe but it gave me an error message.

Capture1.PNG

So I went to Intel and ran the Intel Driver Update Utility, and it says I need help from HP.

Capture.PNG

I also tried updating the driver of Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 from Device Manager by locating the file in C:\SWSetup\sp72370 but it says I already have the best driver installed.

I have tried everything I can think of but nothing worked out.

Please help me!

HP Pavilion x2 backlight

Hello all,

I've been seeing many people writing about the pavilion x2 not turning on again after some time. I thought that I had the same problem until I accidentally realized that the computer is on but there is no backlight in the screen, making it look like off all the time. So with a huge effort, I can see that it is still alive. I don't know if this is the case for most of the complaints out there but it could give some help in finding out your problem.

My computer is one-month old, so I have warranty and I can send it to HP. I bought it in Belgium but now I just moved to Vietnam, how do I contact the HP Support Center here? Or even better, is there any trick to reset/turn on the backlight of the screen? I believe this could be related with some BIOS update or something similar that affects the hardware operation.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Pedro

I've tried F4, power on reset, but no luck.  Tried HDMI to DP cable, HDMI-HDMI cable to Monitor and TV.

All software/driver should be up-to-date. (accoding to "Support Assistance").

Random Screen touch pad issues

I have just come off the phone after 2 hours with HP and they are not able to help!

The latest is for me to call when it happens next! but by the time I can get through the issue will have resolved itself.

It is not a virus, it is not Malware it is a hardware issue I am convinced of this....

I can not just throw away a 3000 dollar notebook! so I guess the enxt action is to go legal?

I had this issue right out of the box and now 8 months later still no resolution.

Hello -

I was looking at the available laptops to choose one, and some of them come with an option between  (1920x1080)(1x1) vs (1920x1080)(2x2). What is this about? Could you please explain the difference?

Thank you,

Video driver doesn't work in HP Spectre XT Pro 13 Ultrabook AND Windows 10

I have the HP Spectre XT Pro 13-b000 PC.

I tried twice to install Windows 10 but the video driver didn't work (no output at HDMI connector). I had to roll back to Windows 8.1.

Has anyone managed to have the video working in Windows 10 in this PC?

Video Audio Playback Issue

My HP Spectre 13T-3000 running Windows 10 64-bit (i7, 8GB RAM, QHD) has audio and video playback issue particularly on Netflix whether it's in a browser or Window App (I Haven't test it on Youtube).  The problem occur after 2-3 min into the video, the audio would stutter and picture skipping.  My hunch is that it has something to do with 1080p output because the problem doesn't exist in Chrome browser.  However, the video quality is subpar which looks like 480p.  Internet speed isn't an issue as I get 100MB download.

I have updated all of the driver (Video and Audio) to the latest but the problem persist.

Below is a list of all the places problem occurs.

  • Netflix Window App
  • Edge Browser
  • Internet Explorer Browser
  • Firefox Browser

Any advice?

Geforce 940m default vRAM frequency

Hello All,

I'm keep using my new laptop Pavilion 15-ab208ur.

Now I'm researching the Video subsystem. It consist of Intel HD Graphics 520 and Nvidia GeForce 940M with 4Gb DDR3 vRAM.

I'm running some tests and see results lower than Nvidia Geforce 840M with 2GB DDR3 vRAM.

I made research and found that vRAM in my laptop operating at 900Mhz (1800Mhz effective) but as far as I know it should work at 1000Mhz (2000Mhz effective http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-940M.138027.0.html).

Is this only for 4GB version or 2GB version has the same downclocked vRAM?

Best Regards,

Alexey.

Hp Pavilion screen goes black most of the time but hdmi always works

My Screen goes off and on at times, If the unit is restarted, it will stay on until the windows logo comes on and off before the login screen. Now if you have a external monitor hooked up, the screen remains on the whole time. If you goe into devices or screen resvolution, only the external monitor shows up and the laptop screen is not detected. I have tried updating the drivers and the unit will act right until restarts sometime afterwards. If both screens are on and I unplug the hmdi hook up, both screens will go blank and when I plug the hmdi back up, only the external monitor comes back on. On yesterday I went into the hd graphic menu and  I had the unit detect the laptops monitor and it worked for about a hour but when the screen saver came on, the laptop screen shut off and only the external monitor was working.

I just got this laptop yesterday and I am already frustrated. As I type, letters don't always make it to the screen, and it isn't because my touch isn't sufficient. Its almost like a lag as I type. I then have to go back and re-type things. Very time consuming. I have not added any new programs to this laptop that would overwhelm the 1 TB of hard drive.

Also, the touch pad for the "mouse" doesn't work properly. When I try to right click with it, the menus disappear and don't stay activated. Between the left/right click it was infuriarating to get things done. With a wireless mouse, I have went around this problem, but it doesn't "fix" it.

How Can Intel Graphics Be Disabled Permanently?

$

Since I completed the upgrade to Windows 10, twice, the computer failed to boot into the log in screen  the first time.  I was told at that time it was due to a conflict between the two video adapters I had.  I disabled the Intel on-board video via the control panel and with a few more works around finally go into Windows 10.  It ran fine for about 6 month until MS released an update of some sort that caused the same issue once again.  However, this time there was no work around to get into the OS.  So I've formatted and re-installed all software again and the Intel adapter will not go away.  I can't get into my BIOS, where one would normally disable on board video.  So at this point I won't be doing the "free" upgrade until I can remove the on board video permanently.

I did locate this link to a previous article but it's for a different computer and the control panel that's referred to is no longer a part of the NVIDIA software pacakge; at least that I can locate.

Thanks in advance.

HP ProBook 450 G0 graphics issues after upgrade to Windows 10

Hi,

2 days ago I upgraded to Windows 10 my HP ProBook 450 G0.

After I realized my graphic drivers are not working properly I tried to update them to the lastest listed at drivers download section for my model.

After this I had BSODs and couldn't even see login screen. I removed installed update in safe mode.

So right now I'm using some default driver I guess.

In the devices manager on Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 I have something like (manual translation) "Windows has stopped this device because of raported troubles. (Code 43)".

I cannot use HDMI & internal display. To use HDMI I need to restart my PC. After using HDMI I cannot use internal display. A lot of issues, because of this driver...

I really need this, as I'm teacher and I', using both internal display & HDMI for presentations...

Any solutions? Any logs I can get to help you help me Smiley Happy ?

Jakub Król.

Hello,

The monitor on my HP Pavillion has been completely smashed, inoperable.

What options do I have for complete HD data recovery.

Can I, how do I

- just get the screen replaced?

- connect it somehow to another output and retrive it myself onto a flashdrive or another computer

or have I no choice but to take it to a PC specialist, have my privacy compromised and have them retrieve the data?
