Spectre 13 Problems

I was recently brought in to test this product by the UX team at HP. I must say I was not impressed. The design of the notebook was quite beautiful but the lack of dickbutts were lacking. I just felt that the touch pad would have been much more intuitive if it were shaped in the design of dickbutt. Dickbutt forms perfectly to the form of the human hand, seems like a no brainer here. UX team really screwed the pooch on this one.

Also, I plugged the charger into an outlett during my first class flight and it kept falling out. The power chord is too heavy!

Radeon HD 6770M switchable graphics missing

Serial: 5CH1160RMP

Product: LH601UA#ABA

Model: HP PAVILION DV6-6047CL

(Sorry for the long post, but had to explain the situation)

Configs for my laptop:

Microprocessor:   2nd generation Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor 2.00GHz
Memory:                 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM)
Video Graphics:    Radeon HD 6770M switchable graphics with 1024MB GDDR5
Video Memory:     up to 4837MB
Hard Drive:             1 TB (5400RPM)

Let me start with a list of things i did and then tell you what the problem is,

so i

- swapped the intel chipset from my current config(Intel Core i7-2630QM, 2.00Ghz) to a little better 2.7Ghz

- upgraded the ram to 16Gb

- swapped the HDD for a SSD

- intalled a fresh copy of windows 10

Everything was working perfect for a few hours..then it crashed..

the graphic card(raedon) stopped working, intel one is working good.

then  one 8gb ram stopped working.

it shows as this

Capture.PNG

I tried to install the drivers for it but nothing works for Raedon.

(What i think is by adding the new chipset the GRAPHIC CARD IS LOCKED somehow..i am sure i did not burn it)

after that i have installed windows 7, removed the new chipset and put the older one back, reflashed the Bios and possibly everything internet offers. Only thing left is restoring to Factory setting to see if the lock on the graphic card could be lifted.

Overall i can do pretty much everything except anything that needs GPU power from Raedon

I know i have made mistakes here, but i would really like to repair this error as it is still a pretty good laptop.

So my main question is, can this issue be solved by restoring it to factory setting????????????

Thanks for your help in advance.Smiley HappyMan Very Happy

This is what it shows when i use detailed version of Windows Experience Index

it used to show 4 gb dedicated memory!!!!!!Smiley Sad

Intel HD Graphics Driver conflict

I had a virus on my machine a few days ago and while my anti-virus caught it, it seemed to replicate itself and showed back up every few hours and was bogging my machine down. So, I decided to just restore the machine back to factory settings and get a fresh start. That of course meant going back to Windows 8, which is what originally came on the computer - and I figured I would just update to Windows 10 and be just fine.

Well, after going through the process and Windows loaded, I had a very strange issue where the screen would have all sorts of rendering issues.

screen.jpg

The screen would only go to this messed up configuration once Windows actually began to load. During the initial start up, with the HP logo - everything is fine. When the laptop is hooked up via HDMI to an external monitor/tv, the display on that device is fine but the laptop screen is still a mess. I figured that there was just an installation mishap, and reinstalled Windows again. Still having the same problems, even after upgrading to Windows 10.

There are a few issues going on. First, uninstalling the Intel HD 4600 driver, then restarting, allows the laptop screen to function properly, as intended. But the graphics are bad - you can tell things aren't sharp. I've tried installing the driver through the device manager, through Intel's website and even through the HP assistant and all cause the same issue. The second that the driver installs, I go back to this triple screen/mirrored image. When I uninstall the driver and revert back to the basic microsoft display driver and restart, the screen works properly - sort of. The HDMI port no longer works, which is a problem, and of course as noted above, things just aren't sharp.

The second issue is, somehow the driver is re-installing itself mid-session. I had been using this laptop for about 45 minutes on the screen without issue, as I looked for solutions around the internet to this problem. As I was typing this post, the screen went to the 3-image/mirrored screen and low-and-behold, the Intel HD Graphics driver is installed once again.

This has been going on for three days now and I have scoured the internet for anything and everything. I don't know what else to do at this point. Does anyone have even the slightest clue as to what a possible solutino could be?

elitebook 840 g1 no amd radeon graphics detected

I have a HP elitebook 840 G1 that I recently reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on.  After reinstalling Windows I used a thumbdrive with all the drivers I had downloaded from HP to reinstall all the drivers.  Only one problem.  No AMD hardware is being detected... at all.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I tried installing the AMD drivers first and then the Intel drivers.  I uninstalled both and tried re-installing the drivers with the Intel drivers first and then the AMD drivers.  No luck.  Even HP's Support Assistant application isn't detecting the AMD hardware.  Supposedly the AMD HD 8750m is "discrete" graphics so I'm trying to figure out if I need to reseat a card, something is wrong with the circuitry and I need to send it in for repairs, or something.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

According to device manager there are no left-over "mystery" components and nothing that isn't functioning the way it is supposed to... just no AMD graphics are being detected.

I've been all over the forums and seen a lot of complaints about switching between the Intel and AMD graphics but nothing about the AMD card/circuitry not being detected... I could really use some help.

hp pavilion x2

I have the Pavilion X2, a brand new purchase.

It's important to me to be able to use this machine as a desk/laptop .. the fully detacheable tablet part is just a bonus for presenting material to my clients digitally (nice feature). However, I have A BIG PROBLEM.

When displaying my businesses set of website's, for example this one:

beasleydesignsandprint.com

This laptop pulls them up the way they pull up when using a tablet. The sites are NOT responsive design, so on tablets/smartphones they don't auto-adjust, or show full width images, or their navigational features like parallax scrolling. However, since all the main copy is dead center, the sites still look great on these tools.

However, on this notebook, since it's actually a laptop (that happens to have a tablet feature), I had no doubt that the sites would pull up properly - displaying the full width imagery and navigational features - just like desktops do.

But it's behaving solely as a tablet - showing the site without the full width or nav features.

I can live without the nav features coming up - but since the laptop's a LAPTOP and not primarily a tablet, the screen is wider like a desktop - so the screen is displaying more space on both sides, but not the images which are stretched to that space...so the space is either blank or shows the overall background of the website...instead of the imagery that is expanded to the edge of the screen. If this makes sense.

...The laptop is wider than smartphones or tablets, more like desktops - so they show the fact that there is more space on both sides of the screen - but they aren't showing the images which are stretched to that space...they only show the mid section of the site, like tablets.

It's pretty obvious that the reason for this is because this notebook is also a tablet - so its showing a non responsive website like a tablet would, without full width or nav features - but I need it to display it the way a desktop would! That's why I bought a laptop instead of a tablet!

In the store, they didn't have the internet set up, so I couldn't simply go to the sites to make sure this wouldn't happen! But I asked plenty of questions about the transition from it being a laptop/desktop VS tablet, and was told several times that I can adjust between the two behaviors in the 'settings' area and that if I set the laptop to behave as a desktop instead of a tablet, it would - which means, I should be able to 'lock' it to a laptop style display (or something of that nature), and the website's should show properly, even without being responsive.

But the adjustment settings between desktop & tablet are very limited...there isn't anything I can find referring to the issue. I played with the resolution at first, knowing that that wasn't the problem, but I gave it a shot.

Then I focused on laptop VS tablet, since I'm sure that is the problem. And I found an adjustment in the 'settings' that says something like, 'ask me if I want to convert to tablet or stay at desktop', something like that...I've tried it and a few other similar options, and none of them make this thing behave solely like a desktop computer, the way it's advertised. Desktop computers show my sites perfectly - with full width imagery & all the navigational features. Only tablets/smartphones show my sites truncated - and again, I understand why - because it isn't responsive - but this thing should operate like a desktop when I want it to!

HELP! I fear that there's nothing I'll be able to do - because the screen can just pop on & off, making it a tablet anytime, it can only show non-responsive sites like tablets do...it can't behave solely like a desktop.

True/False??? HELP.

I'm trying to do a work around of the lousy palm rejection qualities of the bluetooth stylus on my 2 in 1.  I think I can make it work if I change a few things.  The big one is pinch zoom on the screen.  Not the touchpad.  I've found and done that but it doesn't seem to effect the screen reaction.  Any ideas?
