Hi - Can anyone help?

 

I have a new Elitebook 745 G2 and also purchased a 3005pr Port Replicator (Previously had 2005pr, but after trying to get this to work, I discovered there were no Window 10 Drivers available for it)

 

When I installed my 3005pr all went well untl the install of Displaylink Software (2005pr used SMCS Core Graphics & Viewspan).

I received a message saying:

Displaylink has detected USB Graphics software installed from a different vendor. This software is not compatible with Displaylink USB Grahics software and must be uninstalled before Displaylink software can be installed.

 

A "More Information" link on the message stated I needed to remove all trace of SMCS Core Graphics Software & Viewspan.

 

OK - So I unistall:

SMCS Core Gaphics Software

Viewspan

 

I cleaned to ensure all trace of these were removed (Registry/Program & Wndows Directories Etc.) - They were gome - Laptop was clean.

(Even deleted using cmd promt: sc delete SFGXMngr & sc delete sfgxk)

 

I re-ran the install file from the 3005pr Replicator - And received the same message again!

 

Any ideas? - I've searched every location on the laptop and have no trace of SMCS or Viewspan - This is genuinely driving me crazy.

Hi, I really need to use my Photoshop and Illustraor on High Performance but  the programs don't detect my Radeon GPU, instead Photoshop uses the Intel Graphis. Under the Radeon Catalyst Control Center application, I've tried changing the programs from 'Power Saving' /  'Not Assigned' to 'High Performance' but it doesnt work. I've applied the changes multiple times but everytime i go back Phtotoshop's status is 'Not Assigned' again. How else am I supposed to switch between GPU's for high performance? 

 

I've had this isssue since 2012. But the Intel graphics just cannot handle Photoshop 2015

Just got a new HP laptop. Love it. Problem is that I am a mainframe/host programmer. We use the PFkeys regularly in our programming duties. Most people are familiar with the pfkeys on laptops as something you use in conjunction with the 'fn' key, to raise/lower volume. Or to change screen brightness.

 

So, I use the pfkeys regularly. Problem is that I have to use the 'fn' key, and the pfkey on my new laptop. And, typically us mainframe'rs use 24 pfkeys. Normally we would use shift and the pfkey. Hence, shift/f12 is the equivilent to f24. On the HP, to do F24, I have to press (in this order), shift/fn/f12.

 

So, I have typed for years. Forcing me to change my typing habits does not sit well with me. Does anyone know how I can make the pfkeys work without the 'fn' key. Thats funny, I want to type without using the f'in 'fn' key.

 

Anyway, I look forward to someone who may have overcome this issue.

I just replaced my very tired Dell Inspiron laptop with an HP Pavilion x360 13-s161nr running Windows 10 (64 bit). I noticed that drivers for an active pen are preloaded. Can I use an active stylus pen with this model? If so, what are the best ones currently. I would be mostly taking notes, writing and sketching/doodling. If an actve pen is not supported, what are the best styli for precision? Thanks for any help.

I just bought my HP 15 Touchscreen in October and within 3 months my screen cracked. Without even touching it.  I leave my laptop on my desk at my home. Nobody else in the house and I walked into the room, hearing a strange cracking sound thinking it was a window and when I got back to my computer, I found that it was cracked. It hadn't moved from my desk and nobody was in the room.

What am I able to do? I realize it is probably out of warranty.I called to see cost of fixing it and it is $125 less than just buying a new laptop.  Seems unfair if it is a product issue and not anything that I did. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have win 7 x 64 installed , my gpu cant switch to the radeon m 7450. it stays on the intel mobile and i have installed and reinstalled the catalist and drivers.

 

message says amd catalyst controll centre cannot be started. no settings can be configured....

I bought a brand new HP pavillion x2 detachable laptop. I havent used it much and it was working perfectly fine a week ago but today I turned on my laptop and the HP symbol came up then disapppeared and the screen stopped working, the laptop is still on and i cant turn it off. Since the battery cannot be detached i cant even take it out and put it back in so i have no clue as to how to fix my laptop. ive taken very good care of it so i dont know whats wrong with it. I only bought it for university but its driving me crazy since i cant even get it to turn off, ive tried holding the power button for 10 seconds even more and it still wont work. Its fully  charged and it wont turn off, the caplocks light turns on when i press it so it definately is on. i really need it fixed soon as all my work is on it!

This may be a crazy question. but. I prefer to use the mouse scroll on my mouse pad instead of scrolling on the touchcreen. Is there a way to change to this setting or is it not an option if you have a touch screen. I have tried to change the mouse settings all different ways but it still will not scroll.

The lights turn on but the screen won't. When I press the power button the lights turn on but the screen won't display anything.

Hello,

 

I have a HP Notebook, G6-2209eo series and since yestarday it is behaving strangely.

Product number: C1Y72EA#UUW

Serial number: [Personal Information Removed]

Windows 8 64-bit

 

The problem is the screen, all the white colour is turned into pink, and all the screen has strange pixels of different colour which change with the immage on the background.

 

What I did so far:

Reinstalated windows

Installed drives for the display

The bad part is that I cannot do anything on the notebook when this is happening, I can barely read text.

It is going on and off every time I restart the Notebook.

Also I have tried restarting and opening in BIOS and still the writing is pink, but the rest is all blue as it is supposed to be. 

Also I tryed connecting the Notebook to a Monitor and the display works fine.

The Notebook's display is the issue.

 

Any help is appreciated,

Hello,

 

So recently I tried to install Sony Vegas Pro on my EliteBook running Windows 10, note that it worked perfectly on my previous computer, running Windows 7.

 

But the software always crashes on startup, so I thought about trying Adobe Premiere, but same result.

 

I did some research on the internet and found many threads where people said that the problem could be about the graphic card/driver, but I didn't find a solution that perfectly matched with my issue.

 

So I tried a few things, mainly software uninstallation/reinstallation, until I get it to work after uninstalling Intel Graphics Driver !

 

The problem now is that my graphics looks blurry, so I reinstalled it obviously, and the software now crashes again on startup.

So is there a solution, or do I have to choose between good graphics but not working software, or working software but bad graphics ? :/

Hello,

 

I have a weird issue with my touchpad on Windows 10.

 

On startup, the scrolling with the touchpad partially works, I mean, half of the time it scrolls properly, the other half it will zoom/unzoom or put the mouse pointer at a random place on the screen.

 

I partially found a solution to this problem : as soon as Windows has finished to start, I close my laptop to put it in sleep mode, and atfer that, the scrolling works perfectly again, but everytime I reboot I have to do that so it becomes a little bit boring...

 

Note that on a previous installation of Windows 10 on this computer (which was my second installation), I had the same issue, but the next day, an update has fixed it (or at least I think it was the update, I rebooted as the update asked me and the problem was gone so I don't know if it was the update, the reboot, or the magic...). And on my first installation, still on this computer, I never had this problem...

 

So is this problem known here ? I've read so many thing things about touchpad issues, but that was always about touchpad not working at all, in my case, it works almost perfectly, just the scrolling will not perfectly works until I put the computer in sleep mode...

My laptop is 6 months old, I hardly use it because everything takes too long to load, my tablet works faster.

I set my background photos on my lock screen, user profile and background with no issues.

Now suddenly my lock screen went back to the default photo and I am unable to change it.

The other 2 change just fine.

Some  hp updates will install and others do not.

I mostly use my notebook for typing papers.
When in Word 2013, or trying to type in a web address, I cannot drag my curser to select text. I can only select text by clicking three times.
Also, I can no longer click on a drop down menu, and then move my curser over the option I want to select THEN click. I must click the drop down menu, hold down the button, drag my curser over to the option I want to select, and then release the button to select the option.
It doesn't sound like a big deal but it's really annoying when I'm typing a ten page pape .
Please help!
