green and pink horizontal stripes on the swith on screen - Pavilion dv6-3152sl

0
0

When I switch on my Pavilion dv6-3152sl, immediately after starting at the bottom of the screen there are green and pink horizontal stripes, just when Windows logo runs, which meanwhile looks unclear. These stripes disappear as soon as the light blue Windows 7 Home Edition system gives the chance to enter the password.

What's the problem in my notebook? What can I do to make these anomalous stripes not to be there during the laptop switch on?

My laptop has got switchable graphics AMD. They are ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series and AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series.

Thanks for your support.

Brand New HP Envy Battery Not Charging and Slow

I have a brand new HP Envy Notebook with all the bells and whistles.  I am trying to figure out why it doesn't recognize it's own battery.  Is it possible that it doesn't have one????  I am not a techie, so I cannot figure out if I am losing my mind.  I paid a pretty price for this high end piece of junk.  It is also quite slow for having the Intel Core i7.  I've only got Office Pro and Corel by way of software.

If I unplug the AC adaptor, it just immediately shuts down.  There an "x" on the icon batter/plug.  Help!

Hi,

I will be upgrading my CPU shortly and thinking of the GPU also and need to know if it will work on my work station 8770w.

From what I have read it's possible however I would like to know if there would be any block on the bios for this particular card details below.

GTX 970M 6GB DDR5 MXM 3.0 Type B for Clevo Alienware

Current setup:

230W PSU

AMD FirePro M4000 [HP]
Chipset: Intel QM77 (Panther Point)
UEFI BIOS: Capable
CPU: i5-3360M - will be upgraded to i7 3610qm

should I be ordering the dual pipped heatsinks for these upgrades or does my model also have this, I assumed mine has single coils (not had time to open as yet)

Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Hi, I have a weird what looks like a water mark on my screen that won't go away. I even restarted my computer but it is still there.  It's really stressing me out. If anyone knows how I can get rid of it on my own that would be great. I'm a uni student so money is super tight. Thank you!2016-03-27 (1).png

GPU performance boottleneck

Why is the AMD Radeon R6 Graphics not much better than the previous ones? (R5, R4 etc) My Lenovo G50-45 (AMD A8-Series A8-6410) benchmarks  lower by 2% compared to my  6th Gen AMD HP----I should add that the Lenovo has 1 gig of video memory dedicated vs your 512K on the HP model.

Seems like the software (BIOS) is not optimize to use full APU capabilities and would have better off getting an lower priced intel laptop with weak graphics.

Another issue is that you can't set ram to dual channel and speed is set to 1600MHZ so faster memory upgrade is pointless.  GPU memory and the RAM speed performance is throttled which is not fair to the consumer's who bought your product and I'm seriously considering returning the laptop.

Laptop won't switch to ATI Radeon Graphics card from Intel integrated

Hello everyone, I have this annoying problem, my laptop doesn't switch graphics cards anymore, i'm stuck with Intel Core I3 380m integrated one.

I tried reinstalling the windows from windows 7 all the way to windows 10. Tried disabling, unistaling, reinstaling the graphics drivers, searched far and wide... (i've been trying to fix this for like 3 weeks).

I usually use my computer, but given the circumstances i'm forced to be on my laptop for a certain period of time, and i haven't used it in a long time... and usually just used it for AutoCad.

While this isn't a problem with youtube and facebook, i can't use anything that require a little more graphic juice... like autocad and games

My laptop is HP Pavilion g6-1012sq Notebook PC

3 GB ram, Intel core I3, Ati Radeon HD 7400m

is there any way to fix this?

i know that the graphic cards must switch around automated, intel when i'm using docs and facebook and ati radeon when i start games and stuff.

Please help me... it's driving me insane that i can't use this laptop for anything else than facebook.... i hate facebook.

Pen and Touch Support innacurately available?

I have a 17 series Envy laptop (presumably a 2014 model) with TouchSmart technology, updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. When I check the information about my laptop in Settings, it says my laptop has "pen and touch support with 10 touch points." However, none of the pens I have tried on it work, and I have yet to find any specific information on what active pen would work with it.

I have tested the HP Active Pen that came with my HP Envy Note 8, but it did not register with my laptop's screen. My laptop also didn't work with the Dell Active Pen, which, even though it says it is for the Dell Venue 8 and 11 Pro, I have seen it used with the HP Spectre x360. Strangely though, my laptop registers a left-click when I lightly press the Dell Active Pen on my laptop's trackpad.

All the pages I have read on this topic refer to using a capacitive pen instead of an active pen/stylus, but that is not a viable option for me. I would rather use my fingers to for the simple touch support. I want to know for sure whether my laptop truly supports active pens or not.

For reference, here is a link of my Envy's model on Amazon.com (albeit, with different hardware [like a 12gb hard drive to my 16gb, but that should not make a difference when it comes to displays]):

http://www.amazon.com/HP-17-j130us-17-3-Inch-Touchsmart-Laptop/dp/B00H7O3VI0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459082929&sr=8-1&keywords=HP+ENVY+TS+17+Notebook+PC

From all the research I have done I have come to a few conclusions:

-Maybe my computer saying it has pen support is a mistake caused by upgrading to Windows 10. The newest 17 series Envy only has touch support, so maybe all previous ones were only touch support as well? But that makes little sense since Pavillion laptops have had plenty of older models with pen support.

-I might have tried pens for the wrong digitizer. This laptop might have a synaptics digitizer, but I have no way of confirming that.

-This model of laptop might have been planned to have a specialized pen, but never got one.

-There might be a pairing process for laptops and active pens that I don't know of.

If it can be answered, here is what I want to know:

Does my model actually have pen support? If so, what digitizer is my laptop using (so I can know what pen to get for it)? And is there a pairing process for notebooks and pens that I am unaware of?

Thanks!

Hallo

I have a Envy 17 3d and using windows 10 (64 bit)  its about 4 years old. I have been using HDMI cable with a samsung smart tv. If i remove the cable from the tv my laptop screen stays blank. I tried restarting my laptop after removing HDMI cable its starts up to the screen just before i need to put in my password but after that it just goes black and nothing further is happening. I tried shifting the display to laptop screen while HDMI cable is plugged in on tv but still black.

Hope some one can help.

screen colors on envy 17t

I have a new Envy 17t, most everything perfect.  But sometimes it looks like there aren't enough colors in the monitor, or that they aren't set up corectly.  If an image has a gradual change from one color to another, when I display it on the Envy it resembles low/cheap resolution with splotchy patches instead of a smooth change.  A little hard to describe...

I found "Calibrate Display Color" in the control panel, but it says to use some "menu button for the display" (??).

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Pavilion 13-sr128 x360 display driver update

I bought this for PowerPoint 2016 presentations. Having a problem with the "presenter view" not working, i.e., instead of the intended slide displaying on the 3 monitors (HDMI displays), the audience sees my "working" view behind the scenes--the PP user's interface, small slide icons, menus, cursor moves, etc. Note that once in a while the presenter view DOES work properly!

Microsoft support tells me it's most likely a display driver issue. When I went to device manager to update the driver (20.19.15.4360), I'm told I have the best driver now. When I go to Intel I learn they have a later version, #...4380, but their downloader simply advised me I have the HP customized driver now and must go to HP for update information.

Here on HP I see the latest driver the 4360 (Rev. H), 3/26/16 (which I don't understand, since I purchased this laptop 3/15/16).

My question is, can the Intel 20.19.15.4380 driver be installed, or is there another driver available or in the works? And, how do I install that driver if Intel does not permit it? And, if I install it and it does not fix the problem or creates other problems, can it be rolled back?

Thank you for your assistance. I need to resolve this issue ASAP.

NOTE: I just found this on Microsoft support:

PowerPoint only supports the use of two monitors for a presentation. However, you can configure to run a presentation on three or more monitors that are connected to one computer. Check your computer manufacturer’s web site for up-to-date information about multiple monitor support for your computer.

In the fine print after this article, it says it applies to PowerPoint 2007!

Surely, by now my HP supports multiple monitors. The one I was using before was a 2016 little netbood. But, if this is the problem, how can I get my laptop to work with the THREE monitors I require?

Graphics card crashing

Hi,

I bought this notebook (P/N M2Z41EA#ABU) and it has 3 months warranty remaining.

The notebook has not worked correctly out of the box and an attempt to factory restore it made the machine suffer a total and catastophic failure and corrupted the machine and HDD resulting in the loss of the hidden partition somehow. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 8 and updated everything and the machine will not run certain programs without suffering Nvidia Graphics failure.

The machine has been updated with HP Support assistant and has windows updated up to date but will not work correctly . the Nvidia driver from the HP Site suggests 347.52 as the latest drivers and any other later drivers will crash the machine. Updating to Windows 10 has the same effect.

I am quite computer savvy so it is not user error.

I can only now assume that there is a hardware fault with the machine however i cannot contact support via chat or telephone due to being at work during access times.

Please let me know how I can arrange a warrnty repair before the warranty expires.

Many thanks
