Hi,

 

I want to work on another (bigger) screen and have connected my HP Spectre x360 to it via HDMI. All good so far.

 

I just want to flip my notebook screen over and use it for just the keyboard and trackpad as I have redirected screen output to the bigger screen. i.e. I want to disable table mode so that it does nothing when I flip the screen over.

 

To do this I went to Settings -> System -> Display -> Tablet Mode and set it so:

 

Make Windows more touch-friendly when using your device as a tablet : Off

When i sign in: Remember what I used last

When this device automatically switches tablet mode on or off: Don't ask me and don't switch

Hide app icons on the taskbar in tablet mode: Off

 

But guess what happens when I flip the screen over .... it behaves as if it's a tablet! Keyboard and trackpad are disabled and touch-screen are enabled.

 

Any ideas anyone?

Has anyone successfully gotten this computer to have proper brightness adjustment in wondows 10? It's stuck on max for me in any OS other than 7. I've gone from 7 to 8 to 8.1 to 10 and now back to 7. I would like 10 but I need to be able to adjust my brightness or else it's a dealbreaker.

Very frustrated with touch screen. Worked fine until the last 6 months. Suspect there was an update with changes this screen does not like. When trying to use the screen seems super sensitive - one touch sends the magnification crazy. Will also instead of simply scrolling the screen will on it's own seem to select ads or incorrect lines. Was successful for awhile restoring back to a restore point but that no longer seems to remedy. With mouse or touch pad the notebook works great - just can't use the touch screen.  Any one else run into this ?

Having a problem with a friend's 13.3" netbook. Booting up, the screen shows orange colours, instead of classic blue of W7. The problem continues untill i plug an external monitor, where everything shows up fine. Any thoughts?

I think the screen needs to be replaced. Lcd replacement costs about 200€.

I am considering an option: Replacing the screen without the touch feature. Is it possible? Maybe a screen of a similar notebook without the digitizer.

I was hoping somoene could help me in determining which Laptop is best for me

I have a poweful Desktop computer, so I don't need anything super insanely fancey-shmancy
I really just want something I can take with me on business trips and also draw on while I'm laying in bed

I was looking at the HP Pavilion x360 13s(?) Convertable Notebook
Basically I need a touchscreen laptop that can specifically:

 

• Support a PEN PRESSURE Stylus
• Has some sort of mode that you can turn on so that the screen ONLY takes input from the stylus.
  
  (Think about if you're drawing on a piece of paper, your hand is resting on the paper, but you're only drawing with the pencil)

 

And before anyone suggests Wacom - yes, I have a Wacom Tablet, I love it - but it's so awkward drawing with your hand while your eyes are focused on the monitor. The only other option would be to spend around $1300 for the Wacom Tablet I'd be interested in - and WHY do that if I can just buy a Touchscreen Laptop that serves more than one purpose?

Hi there! I have following trouble: when I trying to update my graphic card (nVidia GeForce GT520m) driver to the version newer than 347.25 I get code 43 error in Windows device manager. When I downgrade to 347.25 its get OK. BIOS version F.66. How can I solve this problem?

Hello, I recently swapped out parts from a dv2715nr to a dv2815nr, which have similar parts so I did not pay it any mind when the battery was not being detected until recently when in the middle of usage my computer just up and shut down. It was not plugged directly into the wall and was using a swapped out dv2715 adapter for power. When it shut down I got a moderate continuously blinking power led, which in my case points to insufficient power. Although the computer still detects the adapter (when I plug it up the battery light now shows as I have also reverted to it's original battery) the screen remains blank, which brings me to my question, has the adapter malfunctioned in some way? Will a new adapter work? Because as long as the screen is blank it is hard to not rule out gpu damage, which is what happened with the dv2715. Mind you a hard reset is not working in this case.

I have problem with adjust the brightness.  I try the device manger to display adapters step it still didn't work. The brightness was working a few day ago.  And I was wondering if its okay to not solve this problem.

When I insert a dvd the drive appears to be reading it, however it does not do anything beyond that.

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion Notebook -15-ab29 and it was great. The problems is in the brightness. When I am playing a game and enter a dark area in the game, it becomes impossible to see anything. I don't know what to do. My brightness is on max already.

Hi,

 

HP Spectre 360 has a diplay issue with all the tools that are Java desktop application. The font size of the tool becomes so small that its barely visible. 

Common application that i have sen issue with:

1) SOAP UI

2) Virtual Desktop or Remote Desktop 

3) JDeveloper 12g

4) Any custom applet code in java.

And many more..

 

This issue makes this laptop series very bad for Java application development.

 I love my 4-month-old HP 15 laptop's performance with the caveat that as of today, suddenly, I notice that the top 2 inches of the screen, running from left to right, are "mottled" with marble-like whitish, opaque discoloration in streaks and swirls.

 

The machine is in my climate controlled office, has never been dropped, abused or even moved. There is no humidity issue, which I mention because upon closer inspection, the discoloration looks as if it might be a moisture issue (actually, I'm grasping at straws here trying to make sense of it).

 

Any advice?

when the laptop comes out of sleep mode the screen is very dim. I have to shut it down for it to come back up bright enough to see the screen

I just upgraded from windows 7ultimate to windows 8.1 and ive been trying to update the graphics display but it says the setup program failed to install one or more device drivers.Setup will exit, please is there a link to download a compatible intel graphics card or a way to bypass the error and install a better graphics card.

Hello, I have recently bought a brand new HP laptop running windows 10 and wish to use it for gaming, school, and programming. I have always hated Synaptic touchpad's PalmCheck and SmartSense (and everything like that) which prevents the mouse from being used after a key is pressed. I have searched far and wide and have yet to find one single solution which has worked. I'm very good with computers, and I have exhausted all resources I have found online. ABove is a screenshot showing that I have totally disabled all forms of SmartSense, yet I still am experiencing an inability to use the mouse after a key is pressed. I have gone through the control panel, checked my driver, and looked at about a million other things. I just got this computer and I really hat that I may not be able to have fun with it or use it to its fullest. This thing cost a lot and I really want it to work well, so please help me in any way possible!

The touch screen on my HPEnvy Touchsmart (M6-n010dx) worked great when using Windows 8.1. After updating to Windows 10, it stopped. In troubleshooting and showing hidden devices in Device Manager, I select HID-compliant touch screen and attempted to update the driver. However, it reads the best driver software for your device is already installed.  Looking at the system, it says there is "No Pen or touch input available for this display". Working back to the BIOS, the PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI does not display any touch screen component. As I said, the touch screen worked fine with 8.1 and HP look-up for model gives touch screen as part of system. 

 

Seems the BIOS needs to be upgraded but it is an AMD processor with BIOS at F.22 (the latest). What needs to be done to get the touch screen back?
