I have tried twice to upgrade to windows10 but each time I do the screen brightness control goes into reverse
ie; I slide the contol to bright and it dims I slide the control to dim and it goes bright.
I have googled the problem and read that I should download the HP driver utility which I did
but the utility found that my laptop contains a customised graphics driver that can not be updated.
can anyone help with this problem.
I was busy making a report and got a blue screen of death in which said there is a error and it had to restart.
Ok it restarted after a few seconds and after that I only got a black screen and de caps lock light is going on and off.
I tried a reboot by removing all connections, plugs and battery. And holding the on key for 30 seconds, putting the electricity plug in and pressed on, still black screen. Tried a bios reboot, after it was installed still a black screen.
Can someone help me, cause I just bought the laptop 4 weeks ago
i want to connect another monitor to my laptop to use as a second screen, the monitor i want to use is a Benq touchscreen. I have already tried other monitors as well as other ways of connection e.g. hmdi and vga but no sucsess.
any advice would be greatful
Hi, I just got this 2 days ago so still learning how to use it, I was checking email and suddenly the screen went black, wasnt sure why so I plugged it in and nothing happened. pushed power, nothing happened, pushed power again and it came back to the screen I was on. Is this just a normal thing to have happen when the battery dies? Pretty new to computers and just want to make sure this isn't a problem or something I should be worried about. Thanks!

My Spectre is only two months old. I was using it the other night, closed it, and when I opened it the next day there was a crack in at the top of the screen midway that decended across the screen in a south east direction. It was fine when I was using it, I closed it and the next day a crack appears - how could this be! Today I went to the shop that I bought it at. The guy at the repair section told me it was cracked (great observation) and then proceeded to tell me that something must have been trapped between the keyboard and screen when I closed it. He then told me that as it was cracked the warranty would not cover it. I was so angry that he obviously would not believe that I had done nothing to it to cause the screen to crack.
I decided to google to see if anyone else has had this problem and see that many have - hence my adding to this forum.
I will be contacting HP to see what response I receive and then taking further appropriate action if required.
My Pavilion X360 isn't Rotating or changing into Potrait when I rotate the laptop. I tried looking around for the settings but could not find it at all.

Recently, I have restored my pc. Then, suddenly, I was not able to adjust the screen brightness anymore. The f2 and f3 keys on the keyboard do not work. As you can see on the attached photo, I am not able to click the one for the adjustment of brightness because it seems blocked or I don't know. Please help me.

I recently bought HP Pavilion 15-ab034TX. I am happy with the laptop, but there's one isse I am facing with the display. Whatever window or software I open, the text appears very small and because of this every thing on the screen looks so tiny. Is their any way to fix this?
My 17-g133cl linked up with my new Samsung 55 4K TV without a problem, however, it would not allow a resolution higher than 1920 x 1080 even though the TV is capable of 3840 x 2160. Is 1920 x 1080 the max resolution that the Radeon R8 can support?
Why is this information not on HP spec sheet for this product?
I recently formatted and installed windows 7 64 bit on my notebook.
previously it was vista 64
I also installed required ati graphic driver
the problem remains the same.
Is it a software problem or Hardware problem or I had not installed any required Driver

Suddenly certain keys on the keyboard have stopped working: F6 4 7 = a s d [ k l and ;
(I have hooked up a Bluetooth keyboard to type this)
I have:
* Turned off, removed battery, held power switch down for > 1 minute - then rebooted - no change
* Gone into NetBios using F10, done a keyboard test - it fails
* I have uninstalled and reinstalled the keyboard druivers - no effect.
Can anyone help please? The laptop is not yet 2 months old....
Not sure if this is the right forum. Dropped my HP 15t-r160 notebook and need to replace the LCD screen the plastic display cover (blue) and the side metal rails/hinges. I found the LCD screen and ordered it but I can't seem to find the exact parts I need to replace the screen cover and hinges assembly for this model. HELP! Thank in advance?
yesterday my screen was showing vertical yellow and black lines. i updated the drivers from the HP website, and removed the battery, held the power button down, etc. today, there's a section of the my display missing. i drew in the arrows to point at the missing spot. any help would be appreciated!
Hi everyone! PLEASE HELP! Switchable Graphics Mode in the BIOS is not listed. Bios f.26. Same games doesn't works in maximum parformance state(GTA V,Dragon Age inquisition, oth...), only in energysaving mode.
