I'm trying to replace the screen/display only but running into several P/N for the HP EliteBook 8540p Notebook PC (see below). I've opened and looked at the exsisting display but can't seem to find the P/N on it. I just want to replace it with the same P/N unless there is a upgrade or better. It has a webcam and a 15.6-inch, thank you for your help!
No error messages! Happened upon start-up. Running @59 cycles!
Ever since I installed Windows 10 on my laptop I have issues with the power cord. When I plug it in the screen goes black until I inplug it and the screen comes back on. I tried going to Power options but it didnt make a difference. Acouple of times the screen did come back on with the plug in but now it doesnt at all.
Apart from the random screen scrolling issue, I love my notebook. It boots up in a few seconds and the body is light and slim. The symptoms started showing about 6 to 8 months after I bought it. At first it only happened when I'm browsing my email. It would suddenly start scrolling to the bottom of the page, and even when I drag the vertical scrollbar up, it will again scroll to the bottom of the page. When I'm reading or composing an email, it would randomly jump to the bottom end of the email.
This used to occur every other day and once or twice a day at most. Then, it began to happen almost daily. It also started scrolling on Word documents and Notepad, then eventually to everything. When it's acting up and I click on a dropdown menu, it will continuously scroll to the bottom of list and then back to the top. I resort to a couple of methods to temporarily the stop random scrolling. Hitting esc key stops it briefly and enables me to temporarily continue what I'm doing. Then it would scroll again. To keep it at bay longer, I would reboot. When I click on the Shut down menu, it would continuously cycle through the menu list. I need to use the mouse or up and down arrow to select Restart.
Note that a simple restart doesn't solve the problem. I have to restart in Safe Mode, then restart in normal mode to resume my work. This is so frustrating. I called HP Support while my notebook was still under warranty. I was told to reset my machine, which I did but that didn't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i've had this probelm for a while now from windows 8.1 to windows 10 now and it's really bothering me how I can't change the brightness at all. The brightness settings are greyed out and I can't do anything with it. Everything else is working fine it's jus the brightness. Laptop specs:

Hi, HP my proble is that i have installed a windows 8.1 in my eiebook but my screen brightness is low when i starts the laptop the screen blinks to high brightness for a moment and then turn back to the low brightness whenone day i disable the driver of graphics card it become normal bt the graphics of the screen becoms less and the icon becomes big pls help me t solve this problem i am very thankful for your kindness

I was looking for monitor driver for my ProBook 640 G1 notebook can't seem to find it on the dirver support page, ever since I got the PC its showing a generic pug N play driver installed under the minotor in the system properties, can anyone point me to a specific driver for the screen in ProBook 640 G1? thanks

I have been using my laptop to watch movies, shows etc, and using cast screen to display it on my smart tv.
It was working fine, wiith no issues, picture and sound were great. But the last two days ive been trying without success to get it on again.
The sound comes through the tv as it should but the screen is black. The viewer on the laptop screen also just shows black, where as before it showed whatever was playing.
ive tried removing the tv on devices, and also the standard, turn it off and on again, but no luck
Does anyone know what the issue might be?

i have an hp probook 4530s. I recently upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7. skype used to work perfectly for me, but now i can't get the outgoing video to work at all. i've tried uninstalling all links to skype and reinstalling, but nothing seems to change. skype just says that my connection is too poor. i've even tried connecting directly with ethernet cables, without success. any help?
IGFX Tray module has stopped working/have tried restore but get the same problem after the restore.
Have a second monitor (designated as monitor 2) attached to laptop using a mini-displayport cable. Using option of displaying on second screen only. Touch screen turned on but not beng used. When I turn PC on or recover PC from Hibernation the display on the monitor is distorted and clears up only when I unplug and then plug in the cable. Would appreciate guidance. BIOS and patches are current. Thank you
Ok so I have been looking for an anwser for this for over a month, Looked through forms, HP manuals and videos and I can't find anything. My touchpad works but when I try to click nothing happens, I have done everything, gone to setting disable, enabled, adjusting thing but NOTHING works. I am really sick of this and I just want to click.... my right button doesnt work too. Only the *touch* works so I am really fed up. Please help. I am on windows 10 and I have a touch screen
