Ever since buying this laptop with windows 10 pre-installed on it I have had constant issues with slowness and freezing, especially when it comes to watching videos online and even loading up dvds. But mainly the online issue. It just jumps, freezes or doesnt show an image at all, and yet the sound is perfect. It is so frustrating and I do not know how to fix it. I have done all the required updates that are availabe for Windows 10 and have checked all devices to make sure they have the latest drivers.

 

Is there a way to fix this issue, as I cannot seem to find anyone else that has the issue. I have a HP ProtectSmart Laptop if that helps.

 

One of my IT friends has said the reason I am having this issue is because of how cheap the laptop was and you cant really get a good HP Laptop for under $1000. My last laptop was a HP but in saying that I did pay $1200 for it but laptops should not have this issue especially big brand ones like HP. And this is meant to be all about the graphics, picure display and sound etc and yet Im struggling to get that.

 

Is there a fix for this or am I going to have to buy ANOTHER laptop. Help needed asap

I purchased this notebook about 5 years ago, and it worked pretty well until last month. After an unexpected system reset, the notebook starts to have trouble with its keyboard (or touchpad). The cursor sometimes moved backward when I typed at, such as Office words or IE. The same problem happens at other applications as well. I googled Internet and found out lots of complaints and fixes on "hp laptop cursor jumps around" and "cursor moving on its own", and followed the instructions one by one, none of them worked. Does anybody here know how to fix it and would like to share? Thank you very much in advance!

Hello,

 

My self Prashantkumar. I have purchased new one Laptope Model: HP 15-ac156TX  with 2 GB graphic card (AMD Radeon R5) from authorised HP dealer showroom named "HP Sunshine, Bharuch, Gujarat" on dated 9-2-2016.

 After buying this, i have checked many times that this graphic card is really installed in laptop or not. but it was showing  internal graphic (Intel graphic ) card only. I have checked by right clicking on desktop & than graphic properties & graphic option but it shows only intel graphic not shows AMD Radeon R5.

 

I have asked to the dealer but he is not able to solve my questions. I doubt that external graphic card installed or not.

 

I request you to solve my question & doubt. I really wnat to know external graphic card (AMD Radeon R5) installed or not. & if yes how to check external grahpic.

Hi...

I have rescently Reinstalled my Windows 8 OS on my laptop (HP Pavilion g6-2005tx) and after that without installing any other apps ,  tried to install Hp driver (AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver) for Radeon HD graphics (AMD Radeon HD 7670M) card. 
But when the installion progresses and i select custom installation and after few seconds ,the system crashes and BSOD will occur with error message  video_tdr_failure atikmpag.sys  and reboots for several times for restoring the os to previous restore point.

I have tried installing driver in express mode and nothing is working.

I didn't install Intel HD 3000 driver as the AMD driver from HP includes both amd and intel.

Can anyone please help me to install the driver.

I can't install graphics driver , but windows update somehow automatically installed intel HD driver , so now i have that.

I tried uninstalling and deleting Intel Drivers . then also it end in BSOD.

Please someone help me..

I can't play any games or use my graphics card.

Hi. This is a second time i ask this question. Please answer!
I can't find a digitizer model for my HP ENVY 15-k050sr (ENERGY STAR). On e-bay or aliexpress there are many types of digitizers for similar models like 15.6" Touchscreen Panel Digitizer Glas Scheibe für HP Envy TouchSmart M6-K  or HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J050EX 15-J050US Laptop Touch Screen Front Glass Digitizer or any other. So can you please tell me what digitizer model fits to my notebook or where i can find axactly what i need.

whilst running on battery or mains the left side of screen gets very hot, and the rear of the left side gets extremely hot to the point you cannot leave your fingers on it.

My  laptop  will play commercially recorded DVDs, but it won't play back the  DVDs which I have burned at home  on my TV.   Is it possible that the DVDs which I've burned aren't compatible with the DVD player on this laptop? They are called Sony DVD-RW  1x-2x compatible.  Thanks.

I went to right click on my internet icon in the notification tray and the screen went black. I tried to restart several times but nothing. I have an external monitor so I plugged that in and I can see my Desktop on the external monitor. The graphic options output to mode is on cloning both screens so I should see somethng on the laptop. I have tried starting it in BIOS but the screen doesn't work even in that mode.

 

Essentially the computer works fine when attached to an external monitor. The screen does respond to touch and the windows button on the bottom of the screen works. It's just that the display is black.

I have a ProBook 6460b running on Windows 7 64-bit, with internal monitor having a native resolution of 1366x768.

 

When I plug-in an external monitor (LG 23MP55HQ) with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080, the only resolution I got is 1366x768. I'm using the external monitor in extended mode not in clone mode with a D-Sub(VGA) cable.

 

Please note that maximum resolution on VGA shoulb be still 1920 x 1080. Besides, I tried connecting to another notebook (other brand) and it detects larger resolutions.

 

I've already followed the instructions provided in the Frequently Asked Questions about Display Resolutions under question: "I cannot select a larger resolution or the native resolution for my display. How do I fix this issue?" i.e.

 

- installed latest Intel HD Driver

- installed lates Display Driver (.inf file)

- Updated to latest BIOS (F.61 Rev.A 11 Jun 2015)

 

 Finally, I updated my OS to Windows 10 64-bit, and install Intel HD Driver and Display Driver over again. Unfortunately, I still got only 1366x768 instead of the native 1920x1080 in the external monitor.

 

Please advice recommended actions to resolve this issue, since i'm out of options and could not find much ressources on the internet.

I have a laptop.  I don't have a mouse.  The font on e-mail is really huge and the bottom half of incoming text messages is cut off.  I have no idea how to fix it.  I went to "Start", "Control Panel", , "Resolution" and nothing changed.  My computer is already on 100% font size. Please help.

Why did the DVD drive stop reading DVDs since the Window 10 Upgrade?  How do I fix this issue? The HP instructions were not helpful because it did not match the new Windows 10 setup on the Notebook.

Hi, I've asked this question before but never received a satisfactory answer.  

I just wanted to know if my laptop can play Region 0 DVDs without needing to change the region codes.  I know that a laptop can play anything that is NTSC and PAL but my understanding had always been that a Region 0 or Region Free DVD can play in any player, which logically would mean that I wouldn't have to *change* the Region setting on the laptop.    In other words, I could just put the Region 0 disk in the DVD drive and it would play.  But the last time I asked this question, I got a response which suggested otherwise...

 

So in short:  If I owned a Region 0 PAL DVD, can I play it on this computer, which is set as Region 1, without having to do anything to the computer?  Yes or no?

Hi, i have a hp stream 11 and when i turn it on the power nothing show on the screen. The light of the power doesn' t blink, it lights permanent.

Hi,

The displayport on my Elitbook 8540w is not working. I have tried intsalling what I think is the latest driver for the Nvidia Quadro FX 880M graphics card that I have. The system does detect when the adapter is removed from the port, but nothing when it is put in. 

And, the menu on the Nvidia Control Panel does not show the option for 'check HDCP status'.

I am running windows 8.1 on this machine. 

 

Another similar machine that I have, running windows 7, does not give me any troubles, using the same adapter. 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have a major problem with HP Spectre x360 13-4102dx and HP Active Stylus j4r51aa#abl.

 

1. When I use the stylus, it needs to be held absolutely perpendicular to the screen or else the drawing has skip areas

2. When the stylus is used on PowerPoint show, even with the slightest of pressure, the slide advances

 

None of these happen with Lenovo Yoga, which I still use!

 

Can't HP get anything right?

I am deeply disappointed. Any solutions?
