Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I searched everything I could think of...

 

I have an HP Probook 645 laptop. I bought a cable  DisplayPort to HDMI. The DP end is plugged into my laptop DP port; the HDMI end is plugged into a Samsung LED TV, model UN50EH6000, the HDMI port #1. Per instructions in the Samsung manual, I have 'edited' the name of the input source to be "PC."  However, I cannot get the Samsung to recognize any input from my laptop.

 

I have tried using F4, as both a duplicate screen and the "only" screen, no luck.

 

Any ideas / suggestions?

In the Power Options I have set the display to turn off in 10 minutes when my notebook is plugged in.   I have a Probook 4540s with a Windows 10 operating system.   The display turns off in 2 minutes when I have no activity.  This causes a lot of extra time delay turning the display on and entering the password.    I attempted to fix the problem by:

1.   Resetting the BIOS to the factory settings.
2.   Restore the Power Options to default settings.

They did not solve the problem.   What do I do to fix the problem?

Hello,

 

I've installed Win 7 ultimate x64 and installed chipset drivers and then was trying to install AMD drivers from Hp offical site but unable to go through it. Since after installation it is still indicating yellow caution and apart from this i tried update driver from update manager but there it is showing an error. 

My computer screen went white

Good Evening,

 

I press the power button to start up my pc, but as soon as I let it go the screen turns bright white. I should mention this, I drop my computer inbut it was in the back pack. Please help me!!!

Hi, I am nearly at that point where I take this notebook back to the store & demand a refund, it is the slowest computer I have ever used & now I can no longer even upload photos FROM my camera TO my computer [which is only a few months old].

 

This feature WAS working when I first purchased this HP but since the dumping of the cyberlink mediasuite onto my computer I have NOT been able to get this computer to even show the AUTOPLAY when I plug the camera in.

 

I have reset the Defaults in AUTOPLAY, still nothing.

 

I don't particularly want this cyberlink media suite as my photo file controller. I can't even get it to function when I click on it.

 

I AM NOT COMPUTER SAVVY so attempting to sort out WHY the original photo files no longer open or why my camera is no longer accepted by this computer [& there is NOTHING wrong with my camera] is beyond me.

 

My questions are

1. How do I reactivate the ORIGINAL photo folder to upload my photos to ? All I want to do is 'plug my camera in, upload my photos, edit my photos, & then send them to gumtree'. cyberlink states no one can use photos for 'commercial purposes' if they use their photo files/editor.

 

2. If I UNINSTALL this cyberlink mediasuite will this reactivate the original photo thingy [I don't even know the **bleep** terminology for this stuff].

 

3. WHY is this computer SO SLOW, is it all the BLOATWARE your company allows to freeload on its back & drive customers crazy ?  I've been to a LOT of boards regarding how slow HP computers are now & it seems I am definitely NOT ALONE on this issue.

 

Sorry, they say you catch more bees with honey, but after parting with my money for what I once considered a quality brand name I am now VERY disillusioned & very frustrated at not being able to perform such a menial task as upload photos anymore.

 

One shouldn't have to be Einstein to work these things but it seems there are a MILLION 'settings' you have activate on these things these days to get them to even FUNCTION.

Also tried clean install of Windows 10 Home and upgrade from Windows 8.1 but non of them worked.
Normallythe capturedevice,oror just "pullingsmoothly."

Hi
My laptop model is HP NOTEBOOK 15-AC117TX. It has just been 2 weeks since I bought my laptop. The f2 and f3 keys are not functioning since the time I bought and hence I'm not able to control the brightness and charge keeps draining. Please help me and instruct me what I should do to control the screen brightness.

Since installing Windows 10, every so often (particularly after an update) the lower, left hand section of my screen starts flashing up and down.  This is the section that has the search, apps, etc. in it.  At the same time my pointer starts moving around the screen erratically. Other apps open and close or the screen I'm on minimizes!  I am unable to shut down or restart asthe pointer is bouncing around.  I usually have to unplug and remove the battery to restart it.  It has been happening since the last windows10 update about 8-10 times a day.  I was on with Windows help but it has done it again since.

when my laptop is plugged in the screen is fine but when unplugged and running on the battery it goes all washed out and the colours are unnaturally bright and weird, so much that its hard to see what is on the screen. i don't mean screen brightness, because that's always on the lowest setting. it's like the actual colours and stuff are messed up.

i think a few other people  have been having the same problem with the same solution (plug it in) but is there a reason why? and a way to fix it properly?

Hi Everyone,

 

My  HP Probook 6460b with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit was fine for almost 2 yrs but recently the screen comes blank light blue and stays. If connected to an external projection device like a TV I can see the login screen enter and work on my computer as usual. But I cant see anything except the light blue screen on the laptop all by itself. 

 

I've updated BIOS, removed and re-fixed memory cards, hard reset,system restored a few stuff from the internet but wouldn't fix the issue. The laptop is off warranty.

 

Can someone help?

The screen will randomly go white with streaks in it while working, or when waking from sleep. Sometimes adjusting the screen angle temporarily fixes the issue. The computer is no longer under warrenty, however it is only 1.5 years old and should not be having such a big problem already!

Since day one, the cursor on my HP Omen 15 have been behaving strangely.

 

For no reason whatsoever (as far as I can tell) the cursor moves on its own and clicks on random parts of the screen.

The problem seems to be correlated with the temperature of the computer.

 

I have restored everything using a recovery media and I've tried with different OS's: Ubuntu, Linux Mint, pure Debian, Fedora. The problem remains.

 

Here is the strange part: The cursor moves on its own even if I disable the touchpad!  

 

The HP support's solution was to restore the computer (again). Since that din't work the last time I tried and since I have spent a lesser eternity compiling a hierarchy of packages (a journey I don't wish to repeat) I thought I'd check if anyone on the forum have experienced this problem and know of a solution.

Hi Guys!

I try to describe my the really complex issue in the easiest word I can, anyway since I'm a bad English writer please ask me to re describe again if it is not comprensible.

 

My laptop 840 G1 has 2 graphic card: Intel HD + AMD Radeon

My laptop 840 G1 is connected to the HP SlimDockingStation

 

My final desire is to connect 3 external monitor but I'm facing strange issues even with only two.

 

Both External Monitors are HP EliteDisplay E231.

 

I tried to connect them in all the following configuration:

- to the 2 Display port on the Docking backside

- one DisplayPort on the Docking and one DisplayPort on the laptop

- one DisplayPort on the Docking and one VGA on The Docking

- one DisplayPort on the laptop and one VGA on The Docking

- one DisplayPort on the Docking and one VGA on The laptop

- one DisplayPort on the laptop and one VGA on The laptop

 

In any of those configuration, sometimes (even for seveal days) both monitor are well supported, sometimes  the Intel HD Grafic card crash (once crashed i need to uninstall sw drivers, reboot, ang install it again).

with Intel graphic card crash I mean in the Device manager I find a orang warning triagle close to the device and in the property there is this statement: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".

 

When it happens is no more possible swith from DockingStation, If I want to go ina a meeting roome I need to shutdown, disconnect from Docking and turn it on again :-)

 

I changed Docking station, but problems occured again.

I freshly formatted my laptop three times in January in order to test it with many different configurations.

 

I tried to stay up to date with the driver dispatched by HP for both the graphic cards, no result.

I tried to update the AMD drivers via AMD site, it worked but with no result.

I tried to update the Intel drivers (to do this move I needed to uninstall all the previously installed HP-Intel drivers) again, no result.

 

I'm struggling in a fight, it seems there an hw failure but I'm not able to locate it, could you help me find the evidence (in case it exists) that something is not working at HW level so I can ask my HelpDesk office to open the support Application with our dealer?     ....'cause they are saying me that 2 external monitor is something evil :-) completely not supported by our helpDesk office, amyway I have a coleague of mine with the same configuration (2 external monitor) working!

I am trying to turn off the touch screen feature that when you double tap the screen it zooms in, it is really starting to bug me, I still want to use the touch screen but not the zoom.

when i start my laptop after one hour display become balnk but the power light remains on but after some time laptop goes to shut down. when i again restart it start from the previous stage at which it goes to shut down.

I "upgraded" to Windows 10 about two months ago now, and ever since I have been having problems with video from the internet. Originally, the buffering speed was incredibly slow (I mean taking around 15 minutes to buffer a two minute video kind of slow). I then updated my drivers and this problem was reduced drastically. However, videos are still very slow to load, lag, or sometimes don't buffer at all. I know that this is a problem with my computer, and not with my internet network, because there are several other devices on my network and none of them have this problem. I also know that it is not a particular website's problem, because it happens on multiple streaming websites.

 

Any suggestions? I tried to go back to Windows 8, but I don't know where the product key is. I keep reading that the product key is within the BIOS and should activate automatically, but when I run the Windows Installer, it still asks me for a key. I'm not sure what to do at this poing and am really at my wit's end.

I have found a bright white spot on my screen, approximately 2 inches from the bottom in the center of the screen. I have not touched the screen, so I've no idea how it got there.

Could someone please help me?
