I have only had my laptop for two weeks. I have tried changing the sensitivity for the mouse pad, but my pointer will open whatever it is resting on without me clicking on it. It's getting very frustrating.

8560w w/ external projector not working under Linux or Windows 8.1
I've recently purchased a used Elitebook 8560w and installed WIndows 8.1 and Linux in a dual boot configuration. Using the laptop during the few weeks has caused no issues at all.
I have used the display port to mirror the screen on a 720p Samsung TV so the kids could play some games and it worked just fine, but when I try to connect it to a home theater receiver as a pass through to a 1080p projector the projected screen will turn black for a few seconds and then correctly show the desktop. This pattern will continue indefinately.
I've hooked it back up to the 720p TV and it works perfect. The issue exists in both Linux and Windows. I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled different version in each OS.
Ideas?

Envy m6-touchscreen driver no longer in device manager
After formatting my system and reinstalling windows my pen and touch changed from 10 point touch to limited support with 2 points and I can't seen to find my touchscreen driver under the human interface device in device manager. How can I revert it back to its default 10 point touch?

Unable to set up wireless display on Spectre x360
I am trying to set up my laptop to project a second screen onto a TV wirelessly. I can hook it up with a hardwire HDMI with mostly no problems (It has stopped before, and I had to restart to get it going again.)
I bought this Actiontec SBWD100A01 ScreenBeam Pro Wireless Display Receiver for WiDi Laptops/ Miracast Devices and it works flawlessly with my Android cell phone, but my fancy new Spectre x360 Convertible can't even "see" it. When I hit "connect" nothing comes up on the list. Seriously! If my old Note 3 cell phone can find it, my laptop should be able to, right?
I did wirelessly connect to a Samsung TV once at my son's house a couple months ago, and it worked fine the first time, but the second time I tried it, it didn't work. Even the hardwired HDMI stopped working. I didn't try a restart at that time. I just gave up. I was on vacation. Way to show off my new toy, NOT!
I bought this "top-of-the-line" computer for my business, and I'm trying to project a Power Point for a Kindermusik class. I am able to connect to my wireless keyboard/remote (Koolertron 4 in 1 iPazzPort 2.4GHz Mini Wireless Fly Air Mouse Keyboard with IR Remote ), which helps, but I don't want to be tethered to the wall with the laptop, causing a tripping hazard for my dancing, wandering toddlers.

HP Stream C019TU brightness flickering
Hi Everyone,
I purchased a C019TU notebook yesterday and I've noticed brightness flickering issues. Let me explain what happens.
When I open my computer or any folder or picture which has a white / bright background, I notice the brightness keeps going up say by 4-5 levels. If I move from white / bright background to a dark background, the brighntess goes down by 4-5 levels.
This happens only on battery power. I guess the reason it does not happen when connector to adaptor is because the brightness is already at 100%.
I bought 1 C019TU in May and I wanted another 1.
1st C019TU - May 2015 - No issues
2nd C019TU - September 2015 - Brightness issues (Returned back to HP)
3rd C019TU - January 2016 - Brightness issues (Replacement)
4th C019TU - REPLACEMENT - Brightness issue (Don't know what to do)
So out of the 4 C019TU's only 1 (initial purchase) had no issues what so ever. 3 C019TU's after that had the same issue.
Not sure if I am doing anything wrong, or are all products defective? That cannot be.
Any help/suggestions would be really appreciated.
NOTE: for the 2nd and 3rd laptop the problem has been verified by HP on site engineers.

WIN10 driver issue for Radeon HD 6490M
Hello.
Have recently upgraded HP Pavilion dv6-6193ca to WIN10 by Clean install.
After that noticed problem with hardware driver:
- Radeon HD 6490M recognized as Radeon HD 7400M series.
System freeze with black screen for abt 2 minutes each start up and finally
starting on secondary video - Intel HD 3000, which is low performance card.
Updating driver doesn't help.
Yesterday I've conversation with Microsoft support about this issue,
and finally they concluded that can't help me as no driver from HP available
for this particular device. I was recommended to roll back to WIN7.
Before to do that, would be nice to hear comments from HP support confirming
no WIN10 driver for Radeon HD 6490M will be released in future.
So I will not wait for that and roll back to WIN7.
Please comment!

Synaptics Click pad/Touch pad not working inHP Envy15 nOtebook
Hi,
The Synaptics touchpad for my notebook was working fine on sat. Sunday, when I login, it was not working. I installed/updated the new version for synaptics click pad from HP support drivers and downloads. I restarted my computer also. But still, it is not working and also I am not able to see teh synaptic icon in my computer. However, in control panel, it is showing its installed and updated. Please suggest how to solve this issue. Thanks

how do I get the control zone to wake my laptop?
Hi All,
I have my control zone set to wake my laptop but when I tap it, the laptop does not wake? I have to use the power button on the side of the unit to bring the screen up. Is there another way to wake the laptop with using the power button, I had a mouse on here but decided to remove it and use the control zone.

HP Monitor resolution
Hi - I have an HP Envy 13 Notebook, which supports 3200 x 1800 resolution, and an HP Pavilion 24xw monitor which supports 1920 x 1080 resolution.
I usually work with my laptop lid closed.
If I reboot/restart the laptop, the screen resolution that appears on the Monitor is incorrect - it is not scaled and just looks to large and wrong.
A workaround to resolve this is to open and close the laptop lid - this then causes the monitor display to reset to the correct one (though sometimes some apps on the display are still wrong).
It is not a major problem doing this, but is a pain. On my previous laptop/monitor combination this was not necessary - the monitor/laptop seemed to sort this out when the machine was booting on, so there was no need to open and close the lid.
Is there a solution to this niggling problem?

Webcam problem in Hp Probook 6550b Windows 8.1
Hello. I have see the video... My problem is about webcam in windows 8.1. I have installed very different softwere for that but those aren't working for me. When I turn on the camera it shaw me that "TO GET STARTED, CONNECT A CAMERA". I have not make any changes.. and I use Broadband connection. Please Give me a solution for my laptop. Facing Issue with Virtualization, VT-x, Hiperv
Hi HP Team,
I am using HP DV6-1152TX laptop, recently I upgraded my laptop to windows 8.1 64 bit which was originally vista 32 bit.
Now what all the other things I should update or install, I am not finding relevant links for dv6-1152tx windows 8.1 64 bit to install or update it.
Do I need to update or install drivers and BIOS, as "I cannot see 64 bit option in my oracle virtual box and my touchpad is moving randomly".
Please reply soon. Please let me know if you need additional information, so that things are not further delayed. Hope my issue will be addreesed soon.

HP Envy Touchsmart Every time it sleeps, i refresh the mouse, and the screen goes grey and fuzzy

I only recently bought this laptop, in December 2015. However, every time that the system goes to sleep, (black screen) I then refresh by pressing the mouse etc, and then the screen goes grey and fuzzy, and the mouse shows up in a grey type-square. (see image)
I have tried everything, making the system stay 'alive' for longer, however still when it sleeps it goes grey anf fuzzy, like a television screen with no signal.
The worst thing is, I have to manually hold down the power key, until the system shuts down, that is the only way I can get away from this grey screen. I know this is not good for the computer, I just haven't found another way.
If anyone can help me, that would be great! Thanks in Advance.

HP15 laptop Poor typing response
When I am replying to e-mails on my HP15 latop I have to hit keys several times for characters to register on the screen. Typing response is normal in most other modes. I use Outlook for e-mail.

HP 15-r015dx touch screen, convert to non-touch???
I have a 15-r015dx intel display with a cracked/dead touch lcd, which I could not see paying $200 plus to replace. So I pulled up the service manual and saw that there was a non-touch screen available. So i ordered lcd part #750635-001, which list as a raw non-touch panel for all models.
I changed out the back/front bezel, hinges and the required display cable for the non-touch. This cost me much less than $200. Finished installing everything today and the laptop starts up great, but the LCD will not come on. I checked the cable connections and tried everything that I could thing of, but so far no luck.
I hooked up an external monitor and the laptop works great. The screen came tested and I am at the point where I am scrathcing my head.
Can somene please confirm with me that the laptopn can be converted to a non-touch LCD????????
